The list of stars attending the 2011 CMT Music Awards keeps growing with the addition of Shania Twain, Justin Bieber, American Idol winner Scotty McCreery and runner-up Lauren Alaina.

Also added to the show are Sara Evans, Train, Kristin Chenoweth, stars of the CMT original movie To The Mat Laura Bell Bundy and Ricky Schroder, Pittsburgh Steelers receiver and Dancing With The Stars winner Hines Ward, Green Bay Packers' Clay Matthews, actress Melissa Peterman and actress Mary Steenburgen.

Previously announced performers Luke Bryan and Sheryl Crow will also present, with Crow serving as this year's spokesperson for CMT One Country. The 2011 CMT Music Awards premieres live at 8 p.m. ET on CMT and CMT.com.

Hosted for a second year by Kid Rock, the 2011 CMT Music Awards also includes performers Big & Rich, Jason Aldean, Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum, Luke Bryan, Rascal Flatts, Sugarland, Toby Keith and the Incognito Banditos and Zac Brown Band. Tickets to the 2011 CMT Music Awards are sold out, but there are opportunities to win tickets to the 10th annual awards show on CMT.com.

An old favorite and a new superstar are among those scheduled to present at next week's CMT Music Awards.

Shania Twain will make her first appearance at the country-music award show in seven years, while pop star Justin Bieber – who's up for an award for his collaboration with Rascal Flatts on "That Should Be Me" – will also present.

Other just-announced presenters include American Idol winner Scotty McCreery and runner-up Lauren Alaina, Dancing with the Stars winner Hines Ward, along with Sheryl Crow, Luke Bryan, Sara Evans, Train, Kristin Chenoweth, Laura Bell Bundy, Ricky Schroder, Clay Matthews, Melissa Peterman and Mary Steenburgen.

Scheduled performers at the event, airing live from Nashville on CMT next Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET, include Keith Urban, Big & Rich, Jason Aldean, Lady Antebellum, Luke Bryan, Rascal Flatts, Sugarland, Toby Keith and the Incognito Banditos and Zac Brown Band.

Kid Rock is hosting the show for the second time.

SHANIA TWAIN AND TAYLOR SWIFT RECREATE ‘THELMA & LOUISE’ FOR CMT MUSIC AWARDS

It was a union of country music superstars as Taylor Swift and Shania Twain recreated a scene from Thelma & Louise for the upcoming CMT Music Awards at Thompson’s Station in Tennessee on Monday (June 6).

While Shania channeled her inner Louise (the role first made famous by Susan Sarandon) behind the wheel of a Thunderbird Convertible, Taylor played the role of fumbling sidekick Thelma (Geena Davis).

The 2011 CMT Music Awards is set to air on Wednesday (June 8 ) at 8pm EST on CMT Country Music TV.

Shania, whose last appearance at the annual Country Music Television bash came seven years ago, will also present an award at the star-studded ceremony.

The Canadian-born chanteuse recently announced that she will release her first single in six years, Today (Is Your Day) in June. Shania is planning to return to the studio this year to complete work on her fifth studio album.

Taylor also has done some hilarious skits for this show in the past. These two should be great together. Though I bet Taylor is the better actress of the two. We'll see. smile

CMT Awards Video with Taylor Swift and Shania Twain

Ok all you car guys take 5 minutes out of your Wednesday evening and tune into the CMT Awards on Country Music Television (CMT). It will have something for everyone! If you have young girls in the house, make sure they watch with you!

I just got back from spending 14 hours on the set of the taping for the opening segment for the CMT Awards and it will be something you will not want to miss. We received a call late last week wanting to know if they could use our 1965 Thunderbird for a “commercial”. I said of course and we agreed to have the car on location Monday. I was blown away when I showed up and saw the mass of crew members, limos, tour buses and security.

This obviously was no commercial shoot! I have been involved with cars for several TV shows and a music video but this was way beyond that.

As it turned out the production company is doing a 3 minute version of the 1991 movie Thelma and Louise for the opening of the CMTs! Can you imagine the effort involved to shoot video on Monday and have it on the air Wednesday night? The CMAs are being broadcast as part of the CMA Music Fest here in Nashville this week so all the big names are in town and we had many of them on the set and in our Bird!

Have you ever heard of Taylor Swift or maybe Shania Twain or possibly Kid Rock? If not maybe the comedian Ron White or the legend Kenny Rogers? They were all there and we have the photos but will not post them until after the Awards tomorrow night!

This turned out to be a wonderful day with some great people. Of all, I was most impressed with Taylor Swift and her staff. She was a real work horse and as cute as she can be. She seemed to truly enjoy the activities of the day although she appeared very tired of a full day in the hot Tennessee summer sun. She took time to sign some autographs for little girls who happened to be there. her staff are some of the friendliest and most cooperative I have ever encountered; quality folks all the way around!

I will tell you more latter but make sure you tune in Wednesday at 7 Central Time zone.

Boarding a classic blue convertible and keeping their shades on, Swift, 21, and Twain, 45, transformed into two of pop culture's most legendary gal pals: Thelma and Louise!

Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis starred in the classic 1991 roadtrip/outlaw movie Thelma & Louise about two strong BFFs on the run from the law. (A young Brad Pitt made an unforgettable cameo in the flick as a sexy young stud that Davis' Thelma takes to bed.)

Shania Twain and Taylor Swift will be featured in a Thelma & Louise-inspired video parody to serve as the opening segment of the 2011 CMT Music Awards airing Wednesday (June 8) at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CMT and CMT.com. With the two of them in a vintage convertible, Glee star Chord Overstreet also appears in the segment shot Monday in Thompson's Station, Tenn., a community south of Nashville.

Released in 1991, Thelma & Louise was a hit film starring Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis as a waitress and housewife who embark on a road trip. Overstreet is the son of Nashville-based singer-songwriter Paul Overstreet. Twain will serve as a presenters on the CMT Music Awards.

Kid Rock will host the awards show airing live from Bridgestone Arena in downtown Nashville. Performers include Jason Aldean, Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum, Rascal Flatts, Sugarland, Big & Rich, Toby Keith, the Zac Brown Band and Luke Bryan. It was a busy Monday full of acting for country stars in Thompson’s Station, Tenn. Some of the industries finest gathered to recreate the legendary “Thelma & Louise.” The princess of all country Taylor Swift, and the iconic Shania Twain took hold of the leading roles in the parody. The two superstars were joined with bad boy Kid Rock, Glee sensation Chord Overstreet, Kenny Rogers, and comedian Ron White. The talented crew’s creation will premier at the CMT Awards tonight.

Tonight’s highly anticipated show will celebrate country musicians and name stars big winners. Up for leading honors includes; Lady Antebellum, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, Zac Brown Band, Sugarland, and countless others. Our hopeful pick for video of the year has to be Lady Antebellum for “Hello World.”

During the filming of the “Thelma & Louise” skit, the stars took time to say hello to fans. Well, from the pictures it is safe to say that T-Swift had quite the crowd of little girls waiting for her. Good luck to all the country stars tonight, we cannot wait to see the results!

CMT Music Awards review: Blake Shelton won, Shania Twain slipped, Sheryl Crow flashed: Who says country award shows are dull?

Some of my TV critic colleagues chided tonight’s CMT Music Awards show before it even aired, suggesting there are too many country-music awards shows. Cynics! Me, I can’t get enough of ‘em. They’re an easy way to keep up with what’s selling in the country industry, they toss up odd couplings (gosh, I didn’t know the least appealing-looking group in country music, Rascal Flatts, had done a duet with pop music’s designated cutie, Justin Bieber — glad I do now!), and in general these shows provide a safe haven for 1970s/’80-style singer-songwriter-soft-rock in the current century.

There were unexpected moments. Shania Twain took a spill, slipping to the floor while taking the stage to announce the “Male Video of the Year” winner. (Blake Shelton won.) Poor Shania — as though her rattled confidence hasn’t been chronicled all too vividly on her OWN channel variety show.

Overall, the corny quotient was endearing. The show’s opening, a Thelma & Louise parody with Taylor Swift and Shania Twain taking over the starring roles, was delightfully silly. Groups such as Lady Antebellum, The Band Perry, Thompson Square, and (among my current favorites, deprived of much camera-time this night) The JaneDear Girls are making cleverly crafted hits, cheerfully disposable pop-country. It’s big-tent music, able to accomodate the affably awkward rapping of Colt Ford as well as a duet that paired Ludacris with Jason Aldean, plus a Lady Antebellum cover of Prince’s “Kiss.”

One missed opportunity: Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina 9:45 introduced Sugarland’s performance, but it was clear from the tumultuous greeting the Idols received that people also wanted to see McReery and Alaina perform, too. But Sugarland did not disappoint for spectacle and music, as Jennifer Nettles spray painted a white flag with the word “LOVE,” and turning the “O” into a peace sign.

Sara Evans and Sheryl Crow introduced Lady Antebellum. Earlier, she’d performed her duet with Kid Rock, “Collide,” earlier, dressed in a mini-skirt. With Evans, she paused to preface their intro by saying, “People are tweeting that when I stood up from the stool, my underwear was showing.” Evans said, “At least you were wearing underwear.” Crow asserted, “I am good clean family entertainment,” thereby guaranteeing some frantic freeze-framing of the underwear flash among viewers at home.

In general, the CMT show was a lot of fun, at once firmly organized in the tradition of the Nashville music industry, yet able to accomodate spontaneous moments.

She may a major country superstar, but there's always room for a mortal faux pas, as the Vegas-bound singer proved by falling flat on her cute butt on her way to the stage tonight at the 2011 CMT Music Awards in Nashville.

Twain was understandably a little flustered—and probably more than a tad mortified—afterward.

Being the consummate professional that she is, the Canadian beauty laughed it off (the supportive roar of the crowd probably helped) and went on to present Male Video of the Year Award to an absentee Blake Shelton.

And, it being a congenial country-music ceremony (there were none of those harsh Hollywood jibes here), Kid Rock did not make one single joke at Twain's expense.

You know, because he's a "Cowboy."

Taylor and Shania were great in that clip! They're a great pair. And these two seemed to be the two most talked about stars from last night. Taylor for winning the night's big award, and Shania for fallling down. Congrats to Taylor! And I'm glad Shania is ok after that spill. I love how she just laughed it off.
