I doubt it. They did the interview yesterday and won't be out until next year. So it's not like they could've asked her anything specific about her Vegas show which hasn't started yet, a new album, etc..

On their facebook page, I asked Up! Magazine when they will post the interview and they answered "It'll run in our print mag in a few months, we may have a web-exclusive. We'll keep you updated."

It's very strange, though, that the interview will be released in 7 months !

Yes it is serious ! At the beginning of the article, they say that the complete interview will be posted on march 2013 ...maybe she will have a new album between now and march...so they could speak about another album ....but I think I'm dreaming too much ...

How many times during the last 8 years we've talked about a new album? And still it won't happen anytime soon. I also wonder how she can possibly think to sell out her Vegas shows singing the same old songs with no big surprises.
As much as we love her old songs, I think we'd be more than happy to listen to something new. I really don't know what to think anymore... every year seems the right one for a new album and she constantly lets us down..

I am having trouble believeing this interview. A Christmas Album ? Maybe Sing a duet with Lionel Richie. Of all the mazazines Shania usually does a interview with I am seriously thinking this interview ain't a reality. I would see Shania Talking more to a magazine more famous not some Canadian Magazine. Trust me this interview makes no sense. If she were gonna make a Christmas album she would likely have mentioned it a year ago. I dunno who agrees but stop believing everything you read. This interview is Bogus. I am Canadian and have a hard time believing them most times.

Actually the article says "Check out the March 2013 issue of up! magazine for a Q&A with Shania Twain on her must-dos in Vegas and how she mustered up the courage to write her autobiography." So it sounds like it's an extension to the interview they posted online. This part about the show and album is probably the "web exclusive" they mentioned on their Facebook page last month.

It's obvious coming back is complicated for her right now ..Lack of confidence? Lack of Mutt ? No good producers found? Poor quality songs written/ recorded not approved by her record company? Or maybe a mix of all these reasons...
The most embarrassing is she keeps promising us new album for so long and nothing is coming up:
On Country weekly magazine last year, she told she was very involving with the production and the goal was to launch a new album in 2012. She also said new songs could sound very different from her old catalogue.
I also remember during Junos Awards Backstage In 2011 that she was "already in the studio with new songs , and the album was happening right now" ..I don't know what's happening for her but it doesn't seem good for her recording career... Is she as happy as she claims to be ? I don't think so...Without Mutt she seems to have lost her way...
Anyway, We are two months away from her first show ,so I guess we'll have more interviews and informations about that in the upcoming weeks. Finger crossed!

The interview was just posted on Shania's Facebook page (Catch UP! w/a brand new Shania interview!). That means Shania's management must not have any problems or objections with it. They have to approve everything that is posted on Facebook and her website.

The petition is a great idea and I'd love to sign it, but I don't think she'd even care, no matter how many signatures we got. I know there are worse things happening in the world, but as a long term (since the 90's) Shania fan, I have to say how gutted I am. You guys are right. She constantly promises new album coming soon, and 3-4 years later, we're still waiting. I've always defended her on here, but I can't anymore. I never thought I'd say this, but I don't even wanna see her show. I'd have no idea who I was even watching up onstage. She's a totally different person now, which I kinda expected after her divorce, but not when it came to music and fans. Her song 'Today is your day' pushed me through a very hard time, but it made me believe in myself and my own music. It lead to my own tour, shows and a deal with Sony. But the lady that helped me to get there is still a no-show. Come on Shania!!!! Your fans need you, and at one time, you needed them too.

Well, over these years sometimes Magazines came up with fake song titles.. I remember a song called "Don't Shoot The Messenger" around 2005/2006, so clearly this one's a fake, too cry

I just hope that Vegas will inspire her enough to go into the studio and record an album with brand new material. That's all I can hope for right now. I'm not too happy about this Christmas album. And it's not like it's going to come out anytime soon... we have to wait at least a year. I know it's better than nothing but it would have been okay if it were released this year. Another year of waiting for a Christmas album, and who knows how many more for a new album is a real torture. I wonder why she promised us a new album and told us she wanted to release it this year when she's not even sure herself.

I think a Christmas album would be great but sad thing is that it's a seasonal album, listened to only once a year. But a new album you can listen to as many times as you want. I hope Shania makes both. It is time for something new.

You are maybe right. But I feel like something needs to be done now or it will be too late. If anyone has an idea how to make her hear our voices, make suggestions. Because you're right, she's not the person we used to know and if we wait a little bit longer the person that once meant something to everyone of us will be lost forever. I really don't feel like she will ever come back with an album (even a Christmas CD) because her promises mean nothing. Let's sign the petition and put the link on facebook and twitter. Whatever she decides, will be the perfect choice for me :)
But, I think that a new album would be better, but I believe is good to start with an Christmas album, (going step by step ).

SOME COMMENTS BOTHER ME, WHY DO YOU HAVE TO BE SO HARD? It is her decision, not ours. I understand that we waited long, she may not be ready to make a new album.
I love her because she is still great, YOUR NEW SHOW IS GREAT, her book, her music, her talent .. She does not need to DEMONSTRATE NOTHING, IS UNIQUE! ..
We can not hear a new album this year, but she's back, strong, great, a legend and always will be. I adore SHANIA! .. YOU?

I'd be thankful and a true fan if Shania was a true person but she's a liar. So many years she's been telling everyone that she is working on a new album, she even said a year ago that she was in a studio with new material. Is "Today Is Your Day" all? She's not a true person and she does not deserve true fans.

She is not a legend. She does not care to be one. A legend has staying power and releases more than a few albums. A legend does not come on the scene for a decade and then vanish, only to make false promises of future albums. Legends are around for decades.

Shania will be forever known as a person who sold tons of albums, had a spell of great success, was insanely good-looking and then vanished. A 90's act. She wanted it that way apparently.

Well the one and only Kevy is back for a few comments after a long hiatus from tallking about Shania.
Well is any really surprised by Shania not even started record an album? Does any really believe anything Shania has told you in the last 10 years? I told everyone long ago that it was Mutt Lange who was the drive and confidence behind her. She has not motivation now to make any music. Even when she never had Mutt Lange in the early days her goal was just to sell okay and do average. I was a fan since 1993 and by 2003 finally realized who Shania was and who was really behind her music. I still love the music Shania and Mutt did together. But Shania is just not the kind of person who is motivated for success or legacy or anything but just living comfortably. Now she is filthy rich and can do what she wants. She has no need in her mind to make an album. She does not care what her legacy is or what people or the fans think of her. That is who she is. We cannot change that. She will not all of a sudden be motivated and want to be a real artist and make music like most real artists do. She made her hundredes of millions on just 3 albums. She does not care about having staying power or creating music to prove she can do it by herself. This is not bashing Shania, this is fact. We judge her by her actions. What is really disturbing that she kept lying to fans over and over and leading them on that there is an album in the works and she even said she was recording some new music over and over. And I know some harsh words were said by some about Shania in the earlier posts. I will not be so harsh and I do not think she is an evil person. But she is lazy, unmotivated, not truthful and used the fans to gain sympathy her whether it be her divorce or her childhood or her losing her so called voice. It really is embarrassing actually.
Now Shania will go to vegas make millions and not even have to travel to see the fans and she can play old music and never have to make any music again. I guess the hell to the fans who put money in her pocket from all over the world who will not be able to see her. And those fans will not even get a new album ever. I am luck because I can go to Vegas and have the means to do so if I want. But I will not put in more money in her pocket. She has proven to be very dishonest and very lazy and taking advantage of the fans who actually believe her words. I honestly feel sorry for those good fans who really want to think the best of Shania. Because Shania does have the best fans. Too bad they do not have an artists to look up to.

And as far as the petition, I know it is a good idea just to let Shania know what the realy world thinks, not just her inner cirlce. But it will not make a difference on Shania being a motivated artist who loves creating music. Thats not who she is and we cannot change that. But I still think it is a good idea to sign the petition but do not beg her to make an album. I would be much harsher and tell her off lol!! But that is me.
I just realized a long time ago who Shania is. She is nothing like she portrayed for public image. You all can now choose to put more money in her pocket and complain about why she is lazy. Or you can follow real artists out there. I still have a soft spot for Shania and Mutt Lange music and will always love it. But that time is over.

Some of you are starting sound like mindless fan. We have every right to be disappointed. This has gone on year after year after year. I am tired of going to all of Shania's sites day after day only to get let down over and over again. And I'm sorry.. you can't compare her to artists like The Beatles... her catalogue isn't half their size. Her next album better be freaking phenomenal.

Oh Boy here we go again . I know a new album would be awesome not pointing fingers or saying names or anything but do you really need to be so harsh like come on she is only human. I know a lot of you are upset. if you are so angry and say she she is a liar etc . then why are you still even a fan . becuase true fans would support the person no matter what they did. My openion is that you eaither be a fan and just go with the flow or dont even bother beeing a fan at all.

There is clearly too much pressure on her. Things are much different for her now then they were 10 years ago. Her son is growing up and she wants to spend time with him. Is that so wrong? Is it wrong she is trying to be a mother? And she is trying to get back into the spotlight now, but nobody seems to be satisfied. Her Vegas shows start in 2 months! Don't you think she's been incredibly busy with that? If she did release a new album soon, then fans would be pressuring her to do a world tour again. I've waited just like everybody else for a new album, but I can continue to wait. If she decides to release a Christmas album then we should be supportive of her decision, not bash her constantly. I will continue to love Shania even if she never puts another album out again.

Shania is not god. She is not above being questioned. What she is, is a poor excuse for an artist. I have never seen such a lazy artist make so many excuses why not to make an album. Maybe shania should remember that hard working fans put money in her pocket. So stop the excuses already. She has been milking sympathy for years. Her problems are small compared to real people working in the world

Here are people who do not deserve to be called fans of Shania! .. A true fans would be happy with all the things that gave us this year. No express so hard . She is not god, do not worry,I know... She's a simple woman, a talented woman, a mother, wife, sister, she an GREAT artist! more ... Why not enjoy her talent. I am fans forever and always!..

Mariani, I have been a shania fan before argentina or you knew who she was. I was a fan since 1993. I respect that you are happy with whatever she does. But a real artist or great artist creates music and does not have millions of excuses why not to make music. There are people out there with much more problems than shania and with much less money and resources,.and the do not sit around and feel sorry for themself. Great artists make music during tough and happy times. Shania does neither. She sits around and travels the world which is her right. As we see now she is lost without mutt lange. He not only created the music but he motivated her and was the drive. Who does she have to motivate her now? Anyway I hope her vegas shows go well and they should. Like I said I still have a soft spot for shania but she could of became a real legend with staying power. She is almost 50 and has only 4 albums and 2 tours in her career. Very sad she wasted the prime of her career.

Shania Twain 'Dying' to Make Next Record a Christmas Album

After a long break from recording and performing, superstar Shania Twain is getting back in the spirit of things — the Christmas spirit, that is. In a new interview, the Canadian songbird reveals that before she delivers new anytime studio music, she is “dying” to make a Christmas album.

Twain tells Up! magazine that she’s been so focused on her upcoming Vegas debut that it’s been difficult to make much progress on a new studio effort.

“I’m concentrating on the show and not really getting any closer to recording a new album, even though I’ve done so much of the writing,” she explains. “I’m more inclined to make my next record a Christmas album. I’ve been dying to do a Christmas album for so long and I think now is the best time to do that. Once the show is underway I’m just going to, no pun intended, chill and fall into one of my nostalgic modes and make a Christmas album.”

Before the Grammy-winning star can even think about that, though, she’s got to get through the launch of her Still the One show, which debuts on Dec. 1 at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas and runs through next April.

“I’ll be excited,” Twain says of getting back on stage after a long break from live performance. “I can’t really know until I get there, but I feel as if I’ve already gone through the most nerve-wracking part of it and that was making the decision to do it.”

She adds, “It was a giant step for me. I’m enjoying singing again. When I think about being on stage and being like, ‘Ugh, how am I going to be able to run around in high heels shoes again,’ and ‘Am I going to be comfortable wearing fashion clothes?’ I’ve been so relaxed in these last years and just being in sweats. I think I’ll enjoy being back with the audience, being back with the cast and the musicians and being in that environment.”
