I'm feeling much better and looking forward to seeing you all at the show tonight! I can't thank you enough for all the kind words and "get well" wishes. They really made me feel a lot better. I have the best fans in the world!
Glad that she is feeling better. Hoping her voice was not weakened even more so by this latest illness. I wonder if she is still seeing a vocal doctor to help her regain her voice from how she originally sounded in her heyday. I would love to hear that voice live just one more time. But I'm guessing (and I'm no doctor) that once you damage the voice, it never goes back to how it originally sounded. Not to mention age. She is getting older, so her voice will continue to weaken. I went to see MeatLoaf a few years back and it was sad to see such a strong voice now weak.
Shania had to cancel tonight's show. She suffered a relapse and now has a minor case of pneumonia.
From The Colosseum at Caesars Palace:
We regret to inform you that Shania Twain has suffered a relapse and tonight's performance is cancelled.
After battling a virus that has caused inflammation of her vocal chords, Shania has developed a minor case of pneumonia and she has been instructed by her doctor to continue to rest through the weekend to ensure a full recovery. She's expected to make a full and quick recovery, so the performance scheduled for Tuesday, February 4 is expected to go on as planned.
Shania, AEG Live and Caesars Palace apologize for the inconvenience that this causes ticket holders.
Ticket holders for the cancelled performance may exchange tickets for a future performance of SHANIA: STILL THE ONE at The Colosseum (subject to availability). To exchange, you must turn in your actual tickets at The Colosseum Box Office, or if you purchased via phone, call 1-888-9-AXS-TIX (1-888-929-7849).
Orders purchased with a credit card have automatically been refunded to the CC. Those who purchased with cash may present tickets at the original point of sale for a refund. Any cash transactions will only be refunded with the redemption of the original tickets.
I really hope that you'll be able to go to another show Cody! Did you travel far to Vegas?
Hope Shania will feel better soon!
It's a four hour drive for me. eilleen333 I am disappointed that I cannot see her now, but, I am more concerned about her health. She really needs to get better, even if that does mean she has to cancel the rest of the run. She needs rest, you can tell in the "I'm Outta Here" video above that she is sick. I feel for her. Celebrities are expected to get over their illnesses faster than most. Having shows to play must put pressure on Shania. It must be agonizing for her, since she had never cancelled a scheduled show prior to Tuesday. Wishing her the best though, and I am planning on purchasing tickets to shows in Summer or Fall when officialy announced and I am reimbursed.
Yeah, I totally agree with you Cody! We'll see what happens. I am planning to go to some summer shows (it they'll ever announce them...). But if they'd cancel the shows while I'm there.... I pay like 1500 dollars just to get to Vegas... But we'll see how it goes`...

I would say book a show at the beginning of a run so it is less likely that she cancels. I'm thinking of the First show in July possibly if they announce it officially.
Thanks that's what I was looking for! But how can we be sure these are the real dates?
Do you think Shania will be in Vegas late October?
New "Still The One" dates officially announced. Presale starts February 4 at 10:00am PST and tickets go on-sale to the general public February 7 at 10:00am PST.
Leg #7 consists of 11 shows May 20 - June 7, 2014. (May: 20, 21, 24, 25, 28, 31; June: 1, 3, 4, 6, 7)
Leg #8 consists of 10 shows July 12 - 26, 2014. (July: 12, 13, 15, 16, 18, 19, 22, 23, 25, 26)
I just saw the new dates have been announced! So the "shaniatwainlasvegas" site was right! I hope they'll soon post the dates for October. We'll be in Vegas from Oct 27th to Nov 3rd so we really hope we'll be able to attend Shania's show!
Where can we find a presale code for May to July shows?

I don't know. It doesn't even say what type of presale it is. American Express, etc.?

ya she picks people who have lots of energy and are having a blast from any row in the orchestra. She doesn't pick people in the first 3 rows though thinking she's already seen them. And they're already so close to the stage. More back she picks from and Fred goes and gets people who are in the Mez levels.

Ex-Edmontonian Raj Kapoor directs Twain's popular Las Vegas show
By Elizabeth Withey, Edmonton Journal | February 3, 2014
Shania Twain poses with Edmonton-born Raj Kapoor and his mom, Jean Kapoor, on Jean's birthday in March 2013.
A typical day in the office for Raj Kapoor can mean working with music stars like Daft Punk, Macklemore, Imagine Dragons, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr. Kapoor, who hails from Edmonton, has been the creative consultant for the Grammys telecast for the past three years, designing the video looks (and sometimes more) for many of the artists who perform during the prestigious awards show.
That don't impress you much?
Kapoor is also the director of Shania: Still the One, the Las Vegas show starring country music legend Shania Twain. The show happens at The Colosseum in Caesars Palace, the same venue where Celine Dion, Rod Stewart and Elton John perform. Kapoor is also working with Twain on her sold-out Calgary Stampede shows this coming summer.
Kapoor grew up listening to Any Man of Mine, You're Still the One, That Don't Impress Me Much and other hits by the iconic Canadian songstress, a multi-Grammy winner who is the top-selling female country artist of all time. He's always wanted to work with her, so he was thrilled when he found out in early 2012 that she'd chosen him to direct her comeback live show.
"I was super excited," Kapoor said from his home in Los Angeles. "Shania is the biggest show I've done so far in terms of the scale and the exposure."
The Colosseum seats up to 4,300 people and has "amazing infrastructure" for putting on shows, he explains, including a 35-metre video screen, top-of-the-line lighting, seating and acoustics, and incredible staff. "They're a combination of rock 'n' roll people and super-high-end theatrical people."
Kapoor and Twain spent about 10 months developing the show, which opened in December 2012 and will run for two full years. Shania: Still the One features all of Twain's hits and all the bells and whistles you'd associate with Vegas, including a flying motorcycle, real horses, highend video effects and stage design, and choreography. Twain had never had dancers in her shows but the Colosseum stage is enormous and "you have to fill the space," Kapoor explained. The show still feels like a rock concert and features all of Twain's original hits, he said, but it's a more theatrical, designed production. Her sister, Carrie, is singing backup in the show.
Collaborating required a huge amount of trust on Twain's part, given that she hadn't performed live for almost a decade. "She let me steer her vision and have this cohesive story," said Kapoor. Luckily, the two got along beautifully. "Shania, besides the fact she's beautiful - she looks like she has not aged - she is so warm and confident and talented. And she has this catalogue of great hits."
In terms of being back onstage performing, "she loves it," Kapoor said of Twain. "It's 'what can I do that I haven't done before'?" The singer spends two-to three-week stints in Vegas, during which time "she tries to go and see every single live show she can. She's totally entertainment-based."
When the show first opened, it was a huge moment for both the singer, 48, and her fans. "People were so happy to see her. She hadn't performed in so long, and you know when people belong on a stage. The joy (the audience) felt from Shania being onstage made her a little teary-eyed," Kapoor recounted. "This journey we went on together over the 10 months (creating the show) paid off. It was really rewarding."
The show runs until December 2014 (tickets range from $55 to $250). And even after that, Vegas may not be ready to let Twain go. "The reviews are really good. It's a crowd-pleasing show. There's talk of her extending her contract because it's going so well."
Kapoor enjoys a solid working relationship with Twain, who he describes as surprisingly down-to-earth. "That's one of the most refreshing things. She's really fun. She treats people really well. There's a lot of glitz and glamour around her but when she's not Shania, she's normal. And she's a mother and a wife. Yes, she's a superstar but it's cool to see the other side."
Kapoor, 45, attended St. Mary's High School (now called J.H. Picard) and got an education degree at the University of Alberta before moving to L.A. at the age of 21. He got his start in the entertainment business as a dancer. In the early 1990s, he won NBC's Star Search and went on to share the stage with stars like Cher, Madonna and Paula Abdul.
Now he runs his own production company and works behind the scenes as a director and producer of live events. He's done lots of touring shows, including American Idol and Dancing With the Stars, and was involved in Michael Jackson's ill-fated concert run in 2009. Another regular client is Carrie Underwood.
His parents, who still make their home in Edmonton, are very supportive. "They see a lot of my work on television and they came to the Shania opening." He adds, with a laugh, "I don't know if they completely understand how I got there."

And they're already so close to the stage. More back she picks from and Fred goes and gets people who are in the Mez levels.
And I think that's a good thing since the people in the first three rows are very close indeed. But Tony got to sing Honey I'm home with her and he got on stage at the campfire, and he was in like the second row or something? He's just a very lucky guy, haha!

Shania made my dream come true in Vegas on June and will be seeing her again in July
I just watched two shorts clips of this week's shows on YouTube and i gotta say that FINALLY her voice is totally back. She doesn't sound strained anymore.
It's definitely time to go back in studio to record something, Shania.
By Bobbie Katz, Vegas Insider Daily | February 6, 2014
At 48, Shania Twain’s life reads like the stuff hit country songs are made of: Born in Canada, parents divorce when she’s 2; mother remarries; family is poor and parents fight violently; she starts singing in bars at the age of 8 to help family make ends meet; writes first song at the age of 10; goes on to become the top-selling female country artist of all time; has 14-year marriage; husband cheats on her with her best friend; they divorce; she loses her voice; finds love with the ex-husband of her cheating ex-best friend; remarries; finds happiness and healing; gets voice and free-spiritedness back.
Of course, the story doesn’t end there. In fact, Twain began singing a brand new tune on December 1, 2012 when her highly anticipated new Las Vegas production “SHANIA: STILL THE ONE” at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace opened a two-year residency in what is her first time back on stage after eight years. And, to that avail, there’s a lot to be said for inventiveness.
"I’m going to let my imagination run wild," she said when she first announced the deal. "I'm going to go nuts creatively."
And she’s definitely taken a walk on the “wild” side -- horses and all. “SHANIA: STILL THE ONE,” created by Show Creator and Executive Producer Twain, produced by AEG Live and directed by Producer/Director/Dancer Raj Kapoor, takes audiences on a spectacular journey through the various stages of Shania's life and career in an unforgettable evening filled with music, fantasy, multi-sensory and visual experiences, fashion and the unexpected., the latter including two very alive and beautiful steeds. It’s all designed to make the new act in the Vegas “neigh-borhood” an undeniable sensation.
"My first step in creating the show was writing out the song list, building my ideas from there,” Shania, who will be at The Colosseum through February 15 and then will be back in May, June and July, explains. “I wanted to keep the hits at the heart of it all while weaving elements of surprise throughout the experience. My vision was to bring the atmosphere of each song alive through multi-dimension sensory and share the journey of my life and career with the audience from a unique perspective. The Colosseum theater is heaven for an artist and the opportunity to collaborate with such a brilliant team made my dream show a reality.”
“The show is very personal and a story,” she adds. “I wanted to tell it like a story. I wanted family around me and family involved. I sing with my sister, Carries, in the show for the first time ever. I also wanted my horses around me and nature – all my favorite things. All the favorite personal choices of mine in every way were included in the show. It’s much more like a concert that’s personalized. I like to design, create and communicate and interact with people. This production is more of a personal journey than anything I’ve ever done.”
Twain says that Carrie has not been on stage since she was eight but that they sound very much alike and she appreciates their blend together. Also in the mix, but not on stage, is Twain’s husband, Fred, whom she calls her “daily support.”
“I need him and that support -- what we have,” she candidly admits. “He grounds me and reminds me that there are other things going on in the world besides what I do. He helps give me perspective. Love is important, Family is important. Once you’re married, there’s a comfort you fall into after that.”
Regarding the regaining of her voice, Twain says that it is just fun to sing again and that she’s really enjoying it.
“I am very happy to finally have gotten it back,” she reveals. “It took a lot of very hard work and rehabilitation. Luckily, there was nothing ever wrong with my vocal chords. In terms of Vegas, where singers get a lot of what’s known as Vegas throat because of the dryness Bette Midler recommended some sprays for me and I’ve been taking care of myself. I grew up in Ontario and faced a similar challenge. But I’ve been fine here.”
Also enjoying the experience of being one place for the first time in her career, Twain, who says she has never had a show like this before, says that there are things happening around her that couldn’t happen with a traveling show. She says that she feels new about the show every time she performs it.
“Las Vegas is a very sunny place,” she sums up. “And there are sunny photos in my dressing room. I wake up very happy. I love being at Caesars. I love where we are.”
Twain is back up on her horse – and on a high note.
Tonight is Shania's last "Still The One" show of her sixth leg. She will return to Las Vegas May 20- June 7 for the seventh leg of the show. And July 12 - 26 for the eighth leg. Get your ticketsHERE!

Last night marked my last show with SHANIA.. It was definitely an incredible journey. On to the next. #ShaniaTwain #StilltheOne #thankful
Just had to take a second to let this sink in. It is with deep sadness in my heart to say that last night marked my last show with SHANIA. This has been one of the most gratifying and learning experiences of my life. I got to work with one of my mentors, the incredible Raj Kapoor and incredible choreographer Mandy Moore. For 15 months I shared the stage with crazy talented dancers Adrian Lee, Devin Walker and Paul David. Words can't explain how much I will miss you guys. Thank you all for making this job so enjoyable and sure hope we get to cross paths again soon. This was by far the hardest professional decision I had to make, but we always need to follow our hearts and move forward. SHANIA and Company, I will miss you and can't wait to be in that audience screaming my a** off for all of you. Much love.
