Shania Closing Deal To Join New ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Cast

I posted the article even though I think it's a bunch of garbage. Hollywood Life is basically a gossip site and they are just making the Facebook Q&A something out of nothing. There's no way Shania could do "DWTS" this season. She has Vegas shows the whole month of October (8-25). And then Dec. 6-13. The dates have been leaked. "DTWS" starts September 15 in Los Angeles and goes through November depending on how long the stars/contestants last. I highly doubt she even wants to do "DWTS" at all. All she said was she'd consider it because someone asked.

Shania Twain Closing Deal To Join New ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Cast

Wed, July 16, 2014 5:39pm EDT by hollywoodlifeintern

‘DWTS’ is returning soon and we’re sure you’re eager to find out which stars will be taking the stage this season! ABC, if you’re looking for a sexy singer, Shania Twain told fans during a new Facebook Q&A that she would ‘consider’ joining the Season 19 cast! Now HollywoodLife.com can give you the EXCLUSIVE scoop on Shania’s DWTS decision!

Country queen Shania Twain, 48, is considering giving her voice a rest and taking up dancing for a while! The “Man! I Feel Like A Woman!” singer revealed during a Facebook Q&A at Ceasars Palace on July 14 that she wouldn’t be opposed to joining the cast of Dancing with the Stars in September, 2014. So exciting!

Season 19 of DWTS kicks off on Sept. 15, 2014 and we’re anxious to find out who the new cast members will be.

A fan asked Shania during a live Facebook Q&A on July 14, “Would you ever do Dancing with the Stars?”

Drum roll, please … Shania responded, “I’d consider it!” It’s not a enthusiastic “yes,” but it’s the next best thing — it sounds like she would love to dance her way through the show!

Plus, a source tells HollywoodLife.com that the chances of Shania joining the cast are pretty strong.

“Those at DWTS are very confident that Shania Twain will join the show in its next season,” a source reveals to us EXCLUSIVELY. “She is very, very, very close to signing on the show.”

Shania has already shown off her sexy dance moves while performing her songs on stage, so we know she would be amazing on Dancing with the Stars!

Rumors are swirling that Ashley Gold, L.A. Galaxy star Landon Donovan and goalkeeper Tim Howard might join Season 19 of DWTS  as well — this could be one incredible season!

More Fun Facts From Shania Twain’s Facebook Q&A

Shania hasn’t recorded any new music in a while and we’ve all been hoping for a new album. Well, we’re in luck because Shania revealed to her fans in the Q&A that her “new album is in the works!” We can’t wait!

We all have goals that we want to fulfill in the coming year, and Shania’s is short and sweet: “To release new music.” And in case you’re wondering what the stunning songstress will be doing in her spare time, she says she loves to “ride horses in the desert!” Sounds like a pretty down-to-earth lady!

So HollywoodLifers, who do YOU want to see on Season 19 of DWTS? Do you want Shania Twain to be on the show? Let us know what you’re thinking!

Shania Twain says she'd consider doing "Dancing With The Stars"

Nashville Gab | July 16, 2014

Not to get anyone overly excited or anything, but could "Dancing With The Stars" be in Shania Twain's future?

I guess it would depend on the show giving her a call because Shania says she's not opposed to the idea.

During a live Facebook chat earlier this week, a fan asked the singer if she'd ever consider doing DWTS “I’d consider it!”

Well that's not really a yes, but an I'd think about it's definitely better than a flat out no.

Aside from the many fan questions answered during the show, Caesars Palace, where Shania's Vegas show takes place, said that there's a big Vegas announcement coming soon and that if fans want to come see a show in Vegas, they better do it soon.

Since Shania has recently said that she's ready to get back out on tour, I'm thinking her big announcement is probably that she's leaving Vegas for the road. But I guess we'll have to wait and see.

You can check out the whole Q&A over on the Caesars Palace Facebook page

That would so cool. Me having a dancing background and fan of the show. Be awesome to have a Canadian on DWTS :)

This will not happen. Shania usually cannot just be honest about these type of topics and always gives her usual PC answer.

That entire article is really grasping at straws. Anyway, I like the idea of DWTS, it just never keeps me interested past the first couple of episodes. I would prefer to see her on Idol or The Voice or that Duets show that happened for like one season.

Aren't it usually C-list celebrities who participate in these kind of shows? At least here in Germany it's like that. I also doubt that this is ever going to happen. Look what she said on this topic back in 2011 (at 4:46):

yea c list celebs do this, not the best selling female country artist of all time. i am pretty sure another article willl come out claiming a source says shania is close to signing on lol don't believe any of this. the media takes any comment says and blows it up .All shania answers are cheery and positive lol but s small percentage actually happen lol I as a fan would be embarrassed for her if she decided to go on this c list celeb show.

Then again, there are a lot of things Shania has done since she divorced Mutt that I would have said, "Never" in 1999....lol Like her whole cheesy show on Oprah's network....being such a confessed private person and all....lol.

I concur. This phase 2 in her career is disappointing so far. I'm happy to see Shania performing once again, don't get me wrong. But her professional decisions read like that of a faded star without anything new to offer and cashing in on the scraps of her glory days; as opposed to an A level star on her way to becoming a legend. The best thing Shania has going in her favor is being Canadian. In a country with 33 million people, a success like hers is extraordinary and a supernova. She is a national treasure. If Shania was American, she may not be so lucky because there are more acts with insanely high record sales as well; not to mention Hollywood actors who are ridiculously successful. Then again, we have over 300 million inhabitants.

Shania's success puts her on the same level as Kylie Minogue, Shakira, Charlize Theron and Rihanna who are not American and succeeded tremendously on a global scale.

Glad you said it and not me ;)

Shania after Mutt has been very disappointing.

I've been trying to be as 'nice' as possible because I'm in a more positive place these days, but the truth (IMHO) must be said. What I have observed about American consumers these days (under 35) is that they are very eclectic and diverse in perspective and culturally. On many occasions when I walk down the street, I will hear a driver playing loud music by an unknown artist to myself be it in English, Spanish or Haitian Creole. Ten to fifteen years ago, I would have heard Top 40 (regardless of genre) played everywhere (e.g. coffee shops, drivers, friends, co-workers and others). Sometimes I get local hip-hop artists hawking their music and I don't live in the inner city. In a nutshell, with the advent of social networking, the meaning of celebrity is very relative and not solely confined to one demographic. There are local celebrities who live in my neighborhood and we are not millionaires.

With that being said, Shania needs to get in with the present, release her new music and not give a flip about living up to anything. Chances are that her new music may reach a hip-hop lover as well as Asians. I see that happen on YouTube daily. This generation of consumers is very open and accommodating. She can even call her fans #Twainers like other celebs nickname their fans. Shania was one of the only country singers at the time to include diversity in her band members and musical repertoire, so I don't think she suffers from a lack of awareness. Her inclusiveness to people different to her was what drew me the most to her. I thought she was the coolest country singer around because she as a woman and foreigner turned long held stereotypes of American country music on its head. Where is that Shania? Part of that woman is still there, judging by her performers and recent collaboration with Paula Fernandes. It's good to see that she's recognized the potential and power of Latin Americans in country.

Shania embodied so many things and that is what made her so popular and interesting. To some people, she was the small town Canadian gal who made it big, to others she was a country-pop phenomenon and others saw her as an icon. This is why her phase 2 sucks so bad. Please say it ain't so...

Phase two of Shania's career has not even started yet. It starts with new material. It's just a greatest hits show in Vegas. She saw it as an opportunity to get back out and perform again and to find out if she's still comfortable with performing at all. "Vegas has been a really good transition for me to get back onstage again, and I guess I’m enjoying it." And now that she's rediscovered her love for music and performing, she'll start phase two.

We have only heard one song she has written without Mutt so far. I don't know how you can judge from that one song. She wasn't even trying a comeback with this song. It was just a simple little song to cheer herself up.

I wasn't even referring the "Today" song, but her decisions overall post-Mutt:

  • Release a biography with no new music
  • Participate in a reality series
  • Make small guest appearances on TV without performing
  • Sign on to do Vegas with no new music
  • Be elusive about new music

TIYD was a theme song for her Oprah backed series. To me, this is phase two. When she decides to release new music, that will be phase 3.

And I do as well. We all know what Shania is capable of. We all knew who she was before her break-up with Mutt. She is not even recognizable to me as an artist post Mutt.

That's true but look how successful she is even more so with her SKC program that has come in full bloom of success. Before, SKC was just an idea and now it is open in 4 schools. No Mutt involved. She can do anything without Mutt. She just needs to prove herself.

Hi,
I think she has been testing things to see if her fans would still be there now from the success of the Oprah shows and the Vegas engagement she knows that her fan base is still waiting for her. She now knows that she has old fans and new fans and that fans numbers are growing so now it the time to get new music out. She also wanted to create demand for the product...she has done that now and now we will soon get the product we have been so longing for as in new music...she is a perfectionist and she will not release new music until it is what she considers perfect. I'm sure she is also a little nervous on releasing new stuff as everyone will expect it to be like what she did with Mutt and it will not be. She is a totally different person now so the creations will reflect that.

Just my thoughts
Warmest regards as always,
tonto

Exactly! So great to see at least one person on this message board who understands Shania's decisions over the course of the past few years. I almost lost my faith in common sense. And besides that she was testing herself/testing if she still can do it and if she's comfortable with it at all. I think she's made the right decisions. At the beginning of her Vegas residency her voice wasn't nearly as good as it is now. So I'm glad she didn't record an album back then or even before Vegas. Her voice and her singing improved during the Vegas residency and she even discovered new qualities in her voice “I’m enjoying the singing and I think my voice has a lot of qualities it didn’t even have before which is interesting. And I look forward to putting that down on record."

Everyone mourning after the Shania & Mutt times should think about the scenario of Shania and Mutt staying together. This could have been worse for the fans than the Shania after Mutt. Maybe she would have released another album with Mutt in 2008 or 2009, but her voice was gone/damaged. So maybe that album would have been a bummer. Who knows. Maybe Shania would never have made any effort to find out what's up with her voice. Maybe they would have had another child and Shania living a life even more devoted to her family than she is now. Who knows.

I don't mourn for Shania and Mutt to get back together. TBH, I think the man is very talented but not the easiest fellow to be with, and I am being nice. I can't look at him in a good light seeing what his ex-wife's gone through after their divorce, especially knowing that Shania's not a weak-willed person. She survived the wilderness of Northern Canada and took care of her household, not easy to do by any means. Husbands are supposed to take care of their wives and for her to wind up in Las Vegas, while his new lady's living the luxe life doesn't look good on him. There should have been a professional safety net for Shania. Instead, her career's been in the doldrums. Maybe Vegas was a way for Shania to be back in the limelight in the interim before another album...From my understanding, they had written and recorded original material prior to the divorce and that music never surfaced. We don't know if this is because of Mutt blocking Shania from being professionally associated with him or because she just wanted to start over again without him. Whatever the case, if she normally releases music every 5 years and this happened in 2008-2009, she was due for another album in 2013 or 2014. Let's hope that 2015 brings new music.

Whatever the case, let's hope for the best!
