Tonight's show is being filmed for a DVD release! FINALLY!!!
From Devin Walker (one of Shania's dancers) on Facebook:
PERFORMING in a show for almost 2 years now is paying OFF as we film the DVD today. #superstar #shaniatwain #flawless #lifeisbutadream #cowboy — with Miguel Perez.
Wow, finally! Wish they would have done that earlier when there were only four dancers in the show, but on the other hand her voice is so much better now.
I haven't seen anything about "new" songs or a different setlist. People in attendance said they were allowed to take pictures and videos during the show. But I haven't found more than I usually do. The videos I've seen show her wearing the usual costumes. I haven't seen any new dresses like she wore in Calgary. The horses are in the show.
Someone said the TV special will air in November.
Camera shot below from last night. It looks like they are filming tonight's show too.
Scenes from Vegas @scenesfromvegas
Filming Still the one TV special and DVD last night and tonight coming before Christmas #shaniainvegas #dvd
I was at the shows on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. On Saturday they told us pics and video's were not allowed, while they told us to please take pics on the shows before. So that was kinda weird. The horses were not in any of the shows though.
They did change the dress for "You're Still The One". She wears a veil which they take off when she starts singing, and the dancers replace the horse. They did a nice job! Apart from that I did not see any major costume changes.
They did add "Love Gets Me Every Time" in the campfire scene. I loved it! They just played one verse and the chorus though...

The usual "Man! I Feel Like A Woman!". Other than the dress with the veil during "You're Still The One" and adding "Love Gets Me Every Time" around the campfire, I really don't know of any other costume/song changes that were supposedly planned for this week's shows.

Call me when she puts on concerts like this again:
As much as I loved these concerts and would love to see her do these type of concerts again one day, I think it's good to have variety. I mean enough (4 or 5?) of these concerts exist on DVD and we can watch them whenever we want. And then there's the Up! Close and Personal concert which is also different but great in it's own way. So having this new show type of concert on DVD brings variety into the DVD collection and it also shows that Shania is multifaceted and capable of successfully bringing any type of concert to the stage. I see it as a special concert in the DVD collection. As it was written in many articles "a journey through her career and greatest hits". It also is a great memory for anyone who attended the show.
What I'm wondering is what the band members who have been playing in the old band and in the new band think of these new concerts. I wonder which type of concert they liked better and if they told Shania their opinion on that.
Variety is good only if the new versions are on par with the original, and IMO Shania Vegas is way below the other Shania concert incarnations on all levels. So yes, variety is good, but when the original version works perfectly, it is not always wise to mess with perfection. I just watched, "I'm Gonna Getcha Good" Vegas version and the Chicago version--no comparison--the Chicago Shania blows away the Vegas Shania on ALL levels--energy, clothes, movement, crowd interaction. Her hair, makeup and stage style takes me out of her Vegas shows--very unnatural.
And I would strongly think that her old band would prefer her old concerts--the new concerts relegates them to the back with no interaction--which takes away a lot of the magic from her shows.

Maybe it would have been better to make a DVD from the Calgary shows. There was much more energy and action. There's not much action with the seating in Vegas. Hope they didn't have a lame audience when the DVD was recorded. When I saw the show, the audience didn't even stand up during MIFLAW in the end.
If the old band really prefers the old concerts, I hope they told her that.
Her band may be honest with her, or they may not feel comfortable being that honest. Usually stars surround themselves with "yes men". I'm sure her band would be hesitant to say, "I really liked the old way you performed, it was much better and more entertaining..."
According to Amazon UK, Shania's "Still The One" show will be released on DVD on February 9th. A date for the US, Canada, or other countries has not yet been announced.
They usually do it that way. Back in July they were saying it would air in November or December before Christmas. That's obviously isn't going to happen. Maybe in January?

Shania Twain stars in her spectacular show Shania: Still The One. This groundbreaking residency show was filmed live at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas where it began its run on December 1st, 2012.
It looks like the "Still The One" TV special aired last night in Norway and will re-air on February 1. No word yet on an airdate for the U.S.. I would assume it will be before the DVD is released on February 10.

The entire 1 hour - 32 minute concert DVD/special is on the website above! To watch, you have to install a Header Changer "Add-on" to your browser and change the IP address to make the browser think you are in Norway. I did it and it worked! I'm watching the concert right now!
Just install a Header Changer "Add-on" to Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Google Chrome. Follow the instructions below.
Cool beans! Thanks for the info. I tried Hola but couldn't get it working. I did get the video working from the stuff in that reddit link but the video keeps giving me errors and restarting the entire video. I can watch a few minutes and then it messes up. I'm still going to try to watch it but I can't wait for the DVD.
E: I restarted. Worked perfectly! I am overwhelmed. That performance of From This Moment On--flawless. Again, can't wait for the DVD. I think it's funny that they played Rock This Country recorded live in Calgary for the end, haha.

What a great show. Shania sounds great as well. So glad that we will have this to look forward to. I noticed they cut out TWIM instrumental and didn't bring many fans on stage. She also skipped the audience walk through on AMOM. This footage proves to anyone (or should prove) that Shania CAN do any type of show. It was cool to see her fly in on the bike and share a few moments with the horses. Cannot wait for the DVD.
Right between "I'm Outta Here" and the campfire set. The band played the instrumental and RyanDan sang harmonies on the chorus. A carousel of music videos circles the screen. It was about a two minute interlude. I was thinking they cut it out for the TV special and will add it in for the DVD. Just a thought.
I hope so. I'd like to hear it. And what about Today Is Your Day? Did it just fade away the way it is in the speacial or did it have a proper ending?
Me too. It's beautiful the way the new band plays it. As for Today Is Your Day it fades just like it is in the special. It is actually a longer version in the special than it was at the beginning of the residency. Love the live acoustic version though.

I think that IS the DVD we'll get. They scroll through all the credits and everything at the end. Plus it's 1 hour - 32 minutes, a length of time you'd see on a DVD.

Oh-My-Dear-God!!!
What a stunning, incredible, unbelievable show!!! Shania's voice is absolutely AMAZING!!! Those who said all those YouTube videos don't give her justice were right. Simply incredible. I can't wait for the DVD to be released.
I called Sandbox Entertainment (Shania's management) and I actually got through to her day to day person. I asked whether the DVD link on Amazon was official as to kind of let them know we were curious as to why no official announcement has been made. After being called "another fan," and being told "we don't allow fans to speak to Shania" (I didn't even ask, but okay), I FINALLY reached the office of her manager Jason Owen and got her day to day rep. She told me, "I cannot comment on a DVD release at this time. Stay tuned for information on that on her socials." She also told me it would be safe to pre-order the DVD through Amazon. I think she commented on the status of the DVD. A radio representaive from Sandbox told me via email today that we should get a press release in a few weeks regarding the DVD and that it will be released. He said that DVD releases rarely get much promotion. I later found out Trace Adkins is also releasing a DVD next month through Eagle Rock Entertainment (company that will distribute Still The One DVD) and his team just made the announcement today.

Wow...how..unprofessional. It's her first live DVD (and first Blu-Ray release) in years (and of her comeback show nonetheless) and it gets handled like this? And the fact that a Norwegian (of all places) television network gets to premiere it, before an official press release etc is just a big fail.
Hope they won't do the same with her new album.
Anyways...I'm pleasantly surprised how well the show turned out on the small screen! Amazing!! And the crowd (thank God) isn't as bad as I thought it would be...they're quite enthousiastic! One minor thing...they could've done more camera angles. Though I can imagine that's harder to do in 2 shows in The Colosseum (they used 5 shows for Céline's 'A New Day' DVD). Can't wait till Feb/March!!

I know. It makes me wonder though, who is deciding to promote it this way. In the late 90's to early 2000's, Jason Owen was her day to day publicist. Now, he is her manager. Things were promoted pretty well back then. I understand publicist and manager are two different positions, but he also manages Little Big Town, and Kacey Musgraves and they are promoted REALLY well. I wonder if it is someone at Mercury/UMG or even at Eagle Rock who is holding off on issuing an official press release in regards to the show. Kinda off topic, but I want to see the DVD cover so bad. I'm really hoping they don't get lazy and use the Vegas promo photo which is currently be using as a "Temporary Placeholder" for the cover.
WOW! I can't believe the show aired on TV so soon!!!! I didn't know about that free Hola thing and bought a LeVPN subscription just to see the show... 9 dollars for one month, but it's so worth it!!!
I really hope the TWIM interlude will be added to the DVD, I think it was great.
When I was in vegas the horse did not appear on stage... too bad :( but I really enjoyed what they did with the dancers and the wedding dress to make up for it.

The release date has changed to April 7, 2015 on Amazon US. Fans on Facebook who pre-ordered from Best Buy got an email saying the release date has been changed to April 7, 2015 as well. If this is true, it would give Shania's camp enough time to issue a press release about the DVD in the coming weeks as Sandbox said. Also, they would have enough time to air the TV special here in the US and Canada while still leaving "anticipation space" for the official DVD release.
Also, the price of the DVD has changed to $13.48 and the Blu-Ray to $14.99.
And the fact that a Norwegian (of all places) television network gets to premiere it, before an official press release etc is just a big fail.
I think it's great that it aired in Europe. I didn't think it would air in Europe at all. It's a big surprise because most people don't even remember Shania here anymore. In the US she promoted the book and Why Not was on TV but here in Europe people haven't seen or heard her since her Greatest Hits CD ten years ago. Most people in Europe don't even know she's still alive.
And who cares which country aired it first. We should be glad it got aired at all.

Yes, but most of them look like they work in a haunted house lol. Dressed and styled so tasteless. And I thought the same when I was in Vegas and attended the show.

Too bad they cut it out. I think it is better than the gun fight between the two Shanias.
I didn't even know they played Woman In Me during the show. I just looked it up -- so good! It really is a shame they cut it. Is that Carrie singing with the boys? Because she really does sound a LOT like Shan.
