I'll say it again: I was a fan of Shania and Mutt Lange's music. Anything she releases now, without Mutt is guaranteed to disappoint fans. Mutt is a genius hit maker. She was at the top of her game 20 years ago and she should have retired after the last tour. Her social media posts about the anniversaries of songs is kind of sad. She has crap management if that's all they can tweet about.
The album keeps getting pushed back - I'd be insecure about it, but this is nuts!

She doesn't look happy in that picture. I like her hair better before too.She must really be insecure about this album. She seems to be a perfectionist.I would still be a fan even if her music isn't up to her standards.
But here's the thing. We only know her success AFTER/with Mutt. She has changed immensely since her pre-Mutt work. I'm sure some of that has to carry over. Today is your day is a good example. It's much different than her early day music she did alone. Look at all the resources and producers and talent she has backing her just from name/fame. It's a whole new game. Of course, time will only tell, but I'm sure it'll be different from her prior to Mutt stuff.
What else can they tweet about? She has nothing else out. She's private, she doesn't like to give many details of her life (which is totally her right). What else do they have that they can discuss, there's nothing else much. They can't talk about the tour or residency because then it'll just be people asking when she's going to get back on stage and may be hinting at another tour when that's not the case.
I thought the song "God Aint Gonna Getcha For That" was a great song on her first album. She wrote the song alone and it was before she ever met Mutt Lange. She wrote and recorded "This Man of Mine" before she met Mutt Lange and even though he changed the sound and the tempo of it, I thought that was a great song even if she did not touch it. She wrote "Leaving is the Only Way Out" and, I believe "Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under", because it was mentioned that she tried to pitch WBHYBBU to her team for her first album and they rejected it. She wrote "Aint No Particular Way" years before her and Mutt even put it on an album. I realize that a few of those songs had Mutts influence. But God Aint Gonna Getcha For That, This Man of Mine were both written before she even knew about Mutt Lange. Not to mention some of those songs before her first album that had the "rock" sound to them. She didn't seem to be insecure about those songs. I realize that things have changed, music has changed, time has gone by, her experiences are different. But at one point, she was just excited to write and record music and get it out to her fans. Now it seems that her insecurities are worse then they ever were, she doesn't have the drive that she used to (probably because now she's rich and famous and doesn't need to get the music out to the fans). I think these new songs will be just fine. We as the fans know that her songs are going to sound different because Mutt was not involved in the project. We know that she had to go through rehabilitation with her voice, so her voice will more than likely sound deeper and more raspy. We know all of that and we still stand by her as fans.
