So I wonder if the album title means that there's an actual song on the album called "Now"? I've been tweeting Perez Hilton as well asking what songs he liked best and if the overall album sounds Country or Pop, how many songs are on it. With each.question I ask, he simply "likes" the Tweet but doesn't answer any questions.
Perez is an idiot. That podcast was unlistenable and he was talking about himself the whole time. Why put a limit on age when it comes to radio play? Cher had a huge hit with Believe in her 50's and so did Tina Turner with What's Love Got To do. LATGG has the potential to be the hit of the summer and I'm not counting it out. BTW that extra punch with the layered vocals when she sings "I'm ready to be LOVED" is life.
I will post a brief summary of the Perez podcast for reference.
He described it as "primarily a pop album with some country songs". Perez said his favourites were the country songs and the "happy songs". Said pop radio won't play the songs, however and she made the album maybe not even thinking of radio. Country "may, might, I think they should" play the songs.
Described Life's About to Get Good as "a countryish song with some pop touches to it". Perez said it was his favourite "by far". Both agree it was the single you would lead with for a radio single. Perez said it was "one of the few countryish songs". "One of the few happy, uplifting, positive songs". Almost every track they heard was about her ex-husband, a reference to the past, pain and trying to get over it.
Co-Host Chris Booker said his favourite track was called "Poor Me", but doesn't know if he likes it as a single. Perez didn't like it as much. The premise of the song is that she was "down in the dumps", "oh my life is terrible", "my husband left me", then she looks out into the ocean and how beautiful it is like "oh poor me, God I got it so bad, pick yourself back up and get out there". There was also a lyric that really caught his attention about "breaking down in front of somebody" as they stand there emotionless, her saying "how could you be like this, I'm losing it".
Not a single exclamation mark on the track listing. Perez said it reminds him of Madonna's "Ray of Light" album, sonically and thematically. Sonically compared it to "Frozen" and "The Power of Goodbye". So many overlaps. Said the second track sounded like "Sour Times" by Portishead. Described as an alternative rock track. Not pop, not country...a really different sound.
I hope her management works with Sirius radio to get her own channel. She has a ton of hit singles to fill a channel 24/7 and it would be great promotion for her new singles and albums. Plus she can do interviews and host a few shows on it and even have an album release party on the channel....
Everyone from Garth to Kenny Chesney has had a channel....
If you're bored with the Stagecoach recordings, here is an instrumental I've made of "Life's About To Get Good". One version has a guitar playing Shania's part and the other is just the background music. Also will post my lyrics below which I believe are the most accurate.
Vocal Melody Version
Just The Background Music
"Life's About To Get Good"
I wasn't just broken, I was shattered I trusted you so much, you're all that mattered You no longer loved me, and you're staying right beside her I couldn't move on and I think you were flattered
Life's about joy, life's about pain It's all about you giving in the will to walk away I'm ready to be loved, loved the way I should Life's about, life's about to get good
Oh life's about to get good Oh life's about to get good Oh life's about to get good (Na na na-na na-na-na-na)
The longer my tears fell, the wider the river (Don't you love me baby?) It killed me that you'd give your life to be with her (Don't you love me baby?) I had to believe that things would get better (Better, better...) It's time to forget you forever
Oh life's about joy, life's about pain It's all about you giving in the will to walk away I'm ready to be loved, loved the way I should Life's about, life's about to get good
Oh life's about to get good Oh life's about to get good Oh life's about to get good (Na na na-na na-na-na-na)
Oh life's about to get good now Um-umm
It took me so long to be strong But I'm alive and I hold on to What I can feel, yeah hearts heal Oh I'm alive...
Mmmmm (About to get good) Ohhhhh (About to get good) Whoahhhhh alive... (About to get ah...)
Oh life's about joy, life's about pain It's all about you giving in the will to walk away, yeah I'm ready to be loved, and loved the way I should Life's about, life's about to get good
Ohhhhh...
Oh life's about to get good Oh life's about to get good Oh life's about to get good (Na na na-na na-na-na-na)
Oh life's about to get good Oh life's about to get good Oh life's about to get good
Life's about joy, life's about pain Life's about, life's about to get good
Well I was talking to Perez Hilton & Chris Booker on Twitter
@ChrisBooker @ShaniaTwain We've heard a 60 sec sample of Shania first single. Different than version she performed LIVE. Totally pop. LIVE version was country...Totally pop = no country instruments (banjo, mandolin, fiddle, steel guitar). Perez described song as countryish...Just confused about how country fans/radio will react. Management still tweets with #QueenOfCountry hashtag. Banjo was recorded by JudeCole.
Â
@ChrisBooker @ThePerezHilton Described Shania album as mostly pop. Any possibility there could be a separate "country mix" of all songs?
That's up to her/her label. But seems unlikely. This is the music she wanted to make. -@ThePerezHilton
@ThePerezHilton Thanks for replying. Did you hear/notice her LIVE version from Stagecoach was totally country. Album version in Olympic ad totally pop.
I did not.. -@ChrisBooker
@ChrisBooker @PerezHilton Album version has same instruments as pop version of Party For Two with Mark McGrath. Producer @MatthewKoma described album as country pop.
@ChrisBooker @PerezHilton Shania described music as "organic with rootsy elements" in interviews. @MatthewKoma said we're not getting "electronic Shania".
@ChrisBooker @PerezHilton You guys referenced "Frozen" & "The Power of Goodbye" (Genre: Electronica). Rolling Stone said material is less poppy than 90's hits.
@ChrisBooker @PerezHilton Suspicious there could be 2 versions like Up! The version you guys heard (pop version) & a "rootsy organic" country version. Thx for replies
1. Life's About to Get Good 2. Who's Gonna Be Your Girl? 3. Swinging 4. We've Got Something They Dont 5. I'm Alright 6. Light Of My Life 7. Hard To Love 8. Poor Me
9. Now???
In an earlier article from a little while back, Shania said she had 6 songs finished and that she needed to put another 6 or 7 songs on the album. So I'm guessing there are 12-13 songs on the record and we know at least 8 of them!
Yes, she said that during the RTC Tour, the same interview where she said she would have played a couple of new songs during the last leg of the Tour.
I don't know what to think about the number of songs in the album. It's strange to me that she only played 8 songs during the Listening Party back on Monday... why playing only 8 songs and not the entire album? Let's hope there aren't only 8 songs in it...
"First, I have to finish the new album this fall. Six tracks are already completed. Iâve written 38 songs in total, and now the process is underway to narrow that down to another six or eight to finish recording.â - Shania Twain, August 24, 2015
Â
We talk about the new @ShaniaTwain album (we heard most of it) -@Chris Booker (Podcast co-host)
It looks like Shania hosted another listening party tonight at Electric Lady Studios in New York City.
Sergio Kletnoy @SergioKletnoy
When you finally get to tell one of your favorite singers how much you â¤ď¸them... Thank you Shania for making someday come so soon (20 years in the making)...
***Sergio Kletnoy - Entertainment Director, Harper's Bazaar and Seventeen magazines
Shania looks great!!

Meeting the gorgeous and talented queen of country, Shania Twain đđ đźShe's still the one đ¤ #shaniatwain #fangirling #newbff #loveher #shesstilltheone #electricladystudios
The more I read the reviews of those who attended the Listening Parties, the more I want it to be already September.
Pop songs sound great even if I'm a fan of country music. But I'm sure Shania won't let me down
Can't wait either, so I made an extended instrumental of the pop version for "Life's About To Get Good" using the 60 second sample and Stagecoach recordings. Could sound totally different than this but it's just for fun. Shania SuperSite Listening Party.
It's been a longggg 15 years but the day has finally arrived!! Incredibly excited to share a preview of my new single 'Life's About To Get Good' - released next month! đđ Thanks to NBC Olympics for the feature!
Good timing. First she tweets the purple background I used in my Stagecoach video and now the video of the album song. Do you think we're in cahoots? And thanks Tommy, you're actually one of the reasons I started doing this with your website midi songs back in the day.
It's almost the end of May and we don't know the day LATGG will be released.
I don' t know why Shania's label is so lazy. Other artists singles release dates are announced even months in advance.
I don't count on the label letting us know anything. The original plan was a single in March and the album in May! They have changed it so many times, I don't even try to guess anymore when the single and album will be released. I have never seen such suspense and mystery, when it comes to the release of Shania Twain's music. Every other artist, duo, group, that I can think of has a very straightforward release date. They decide that they are going to drop a single and then drop an album, and it happens! Everyone knows about it. But Shania is literally the only artist I can think of, who keeps everything such a guarded secret that it's really ridiculous at this point.
Lady Antebellum's label is doing something great, I think. For a month now, every Friday they have released a new song off the new album, which will be released June 9th.
I guess it's a great way to promote the new project and it would be cool if Shania's label will do a similar thing. But my hopes aren't high about it...
Wow.... it's may 31. When do you think we're going to get the single? I'm going to say June 9th or June 16th.... fingers crossed she doesn't push it back again.

If there's no announcement by tomorrow it looks like "Life's About To Get Good" won't be released this Friday and we'll have to wait until June 16 when Shania performs on the "Today" show. If it's not released that day, Shania has a screwed up record label/management team.Â

Ok now it would be great to know when "LATGG" will be released. They can announce something that will take place in 3 months but they can't say anything about a song that will be released THIS month... she has an incredible management. And this time I don't blame Shania for this. It's not up to her to announce something like this...
LOTS coming your way over the coming weeks. Sign up for all the (life's about to get) good stuff đhttp://shaniatwain.com (Subscribe to mailing list at bottom of home page.)
It looks like "Life's About To Get Good" will be released next Friday (June 16) when Shania performs the song on the "Today" show. Makes sense since it's a Friday performance and good way to promote the single just being released.

Sounds exciting, very exciting indeed.
So we're gonna have the single, the video and maybe some other album related news (like the title being confirmed, maybe the tracklist and the release date).

The music video won't be released until 2-3 weeks after "LATGG" is released. A lyric video will likely be released with the single.

If in fact "Life's About To Get Good" is going to be released late Thursday night/early Friday morning, we SHOULD have an official announcement tomorrow.
Is Shania Twainâs New Single Dropping This Week?
All the signs point to yes!
by Laura K | CelebMix | June 11, 2017
It has been 6 incredibly long years since the queen of country music Shania Twain last dropped a single; the laid back acoustic track âToday Is Your Dayâ.
The release was a tester for Twain after years of therapy on her voice to help her overcome the Dysphonia that threatened to derail her career permanently. Thankfully with surgery, and lots of intense therapy sessions Shania Twainâs voice is once again in tip top form and she is firmly back in the spotlight.
In 2012 she embarked on a sold-out residency at Las Vegasâ Caesars Palace and in 2015 she toured the US and Canada in what was dubbed her farewell tour.
But while the hitmaker claimed two years ago that her touring days were firmly behind her she has hinted in various recent interviews that she would be interested in performing live across the world in support of her upcoming studio album which will be her first in 15 years.
And to back up that claim she will be performing an exclusive performance this Friday (June 16th) as part of the Today Show Concert series, and this September, Twain will perform live in the UK for the first time in 13 years when she takes to the stage at BBC Radio 2âs Festival In A Day on Sunday, September 10th.
So with Shania Twain announcing this week that âthe countdown is onâ for the release of her upcoming single âLifeâs About To Get Goodâ which she premiered at the Stagecoach Festival in April, and which has been confirmed for a June release, and with her record label confirming that her new album titled âNowâ will be dropping in September it looks like we can now work out the release dates of her upcoming new music.
Judging by Twainâs upcoming gigs, it is looking likely that âLifeâs About To Get Goodâ will be officially released on June 16th the same day as the Today Show concert or June 23rd at the very latest, while âNowâ will more than likely be released on September 15th, a week after her appearance at the Radio 2 Festival.
It's official! According to Universal Music Group, the lead single from Shania's upcoming album Now, "Life's About To Get Good", will be released to digital retailers (iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, etc) on Friday, June 16!
It says June 17 but it's a typo. Singles are released on Fridays, not Saturdays.

Shania Twain Drops Dates For New Music At Stanley Cup Finals
By Kate Morawetz | ET Canada | June 12, 2017
Canadian country music legend Shania Twain cheered on the Nashville Predators during their last game against the Pittsburgh Penguins during the Stanley Cup finals, and the singer couldnât help but contain her excitement.
With approximately 30 Canadian players between the two teams, Twain told Sportsnetâs Scott Oake just how proud she was to see Canadaâs game âinfectâ the home of Country music.
âAll these years ago that I came to Nashville, there wasnât even a hockey team,â Twain explained. âThen all of a sudden there was hockey and there was just a few spectators and now tonight, look at this! This is a genuine Stanley Cup event, where everybodyâs just into the spirit of it and I feel really proud.â
The 51-year-old Timmins, Ontario, native continued, saying, âI think our national sport is infectious and âŚNashville has the bug.â
But hockey talk wasnât the only thing Twain dropped, the singer, whose fans have been waiting 15 years for a new album, shared some very exciting news.
âThe single is coming out on June 16th, âLifeâs About To Get Goodâ and then the album is coming out in late August,â Twain said.
âIâm doing fantasticâ: Seemingly drunk Shania Twain shows up at Preds game
By Mark Daniell | Toronto Sun | June 12, 2017
Canadian country star Shania Twain might have had a bit of a headache Monday morning.
The singer was in the crowd Sunday night during Game 6 of the Stanley Cup finals between the Nashville Predators and the Pittsburgh Penguins.
During a break in the action, Twain spoke to Hockey Night in Canadaâs Scott Oake and her appearance quickly set Twitter and Facebook ablaze, with many users joking about her, er, enthusiastic segment.
Sporting sunglasses and a Supreme sweatshirt, the Timmins, Ont. native appeared to have sipped one too many beers. Our favourite description came from Twitter user @theeKMc, who dubbed her: âTipsy McStagger.â
âIâm doing fantastic,â Twain boasted. âI mean itâs Hockey Night in Canada, itâs amazing. Iâm so proud of our sport... Here I am in Nashville and all these years later and Iâm seeing these people out here embracing hockey and if Iâve counted right, I think thereâs 30 of our Canadian players on these two teams tonight.
âWhen I came to Nashville, there wasnât even a hockey team here and then all of a sudden there was hockey and there were just a few spectators here and now look at this. This is a genuine Stanley Cup event, where everybody is just into the spirit of it and I feel really proud... Our national sport is infectious and Nashville has the bug.â
âGreat to see Shania Twain's last ever TV interview,â comedian Gerry Dee tweeted.
Former Amazing Race Canada contestant Ashley Callingbull praised the Grammy-winner, âShania Twain's interview at the playoff game [crying emoji] still love her though. Actually... I might love her more now.â
Actually, we second that statement.
Twain will release her first album in 15 years this August. Titled Now, the first single Lifeâs About to Get Good will drop June 16.
