This morning on "TODAY", they announced the lineup for the Citi Concert Series. Shania is set to perform on June 16th.

Shania Twain is coming to TODAY! The Grammy award-winning singer and songwriter behind "Man! I Feel Like a Woman," "You're Still the One" and many more is joining our summer concert series with a performance on Rockefeller Plaza.

Details:

  • Date: Friday, June 16

  • Fan Passes: Stay tuned to find out how you and a guest can get priority access to the show. 

General Info:

Viewing is on a first-come, first-served basis on the TODAY plaza, located at 48th Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues in New York City.

To get the best spot, fans should try to arrive by 5 a.m. Generally, concerts happen rain or shine.

How many songs do they usually play during these tv shows? I remember she sang 3 songs during GMA back in 2003 and in 2004 during the promotions of "Up!" and "Greatest Hits". But I don't know about Today. I saw a video on YouTube where she performs "IGGG" but I don't know if it's the only song performed.

I'm pretty sure in the next few days/weeks we're gonna know more.
She needs to promote the single (and the album). Who knows what's in store for us with this "Summer of Shania".
I hope she doesn't plan to do two-three shows on TV in June and then to lock herself in Switzerland or in Canada for the rest of the Summer.

The "bonus" song will most likely air during the 9:00 hour. On Fridays, the 10:00 hour with Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford is pre-recorded on Thursday.

"Today" airs from 7:00-11:00am. On my DirecTV program guide they have the show divided into 3 parts: 7-9 "Today", 9-10 "Today's Take" and 10-11 "Today". In the 7-9 description it says "Shania Twain performs". And then in the 9-10 description it says "singer Shania Twain". So my guess is she will be interviewed in the studio during part of that hour and they may possibly air another "bonus" song (taped).

The chorus of "Swingin'" is really BIG. I'm not sure about the verses... I gotta listen the studio version to really judge. Anyway, it's a big departure from her previous work. But after all this time and after all that's changed, it's not a bad thing.

Shania was 100% lip synching on "Swinging". She and her band have played/rehearsed her old hits tons of times. They probably didn't have enough time to pull of the new songs live with confidence. It is for tv, so you need backing tracks.

 The new songs are OK, not amazing. I am a BIG fan of Mutt Lange's so I wasn't expecting much; but well done Shania! Just happy she's back! Not easy for her, I'm sure!
