I know the song has not even been out 24 hours but I figured it would be higher up on the iTunes charts then it is. I mean she was only on the tonight show on Wednesday. There are artists who have had the same song on the charts for months. I figured it would be climbing faster

Miley Cyrus also released her new single "Younger Now" today. It's already #14 on the U.S. iTunes All-Genres chart.

"SWMEC" is currently #41 on U.S. iTunes Country chart and #112 on the U.S. iTunes All-Genres chart.

Sorry Tommy  you can't compare a younger act to a 51 year old megastar who is just getting used to the digital age. As her management said in that article that they are concentrating with this album on reintroducing her to the public after so long. They will also be concentrating on physical album sales. They said with the next allbums they will  concentrate more on  digital sales.  Shania will do well with allbum sales and tour sales like she always has.  As for single sales on itunes? she is still learning how to best do that. You can't even compare Shania to all these  younger acts. Shanis is  unique and never was a singles artist. Her songs are great but they don't fit any one format. I wouldn't concentrate on intues with this album if i were  you guys, it makes no sense to. With this album her label and her management are concentrating on physical album sales and how best to reintroduce her to the public and pick up new fans along the way. So everone take a chill pill and dont' be so obsessed with itunes for this album.

I understand all that and her label said they are concentrating on physical album sales rather than digital. Here's the thing. The majority of people today don't buy physical albums (CDs) and physical album sales have been dropping steadily the last 3-4 years. So I don't understand how people think NOW is going to sell well physically. Shania's new singles haven't done that well on iTunes in the U.S. and I think that might be an indicator for NOW's album sales.

i disagree completely,  Shania will sell very well with physical album sales this fourth quarter and holiday season,  I think how well her singles do on iTunes has very little to do with people wanting to pick up a shania album this holiday season as a gift, After holiday season she will need radio airplay to sustain sales and she may have a couple gems on the album. i say hold your horses everyone lol

I agree with Tommy, Her singles are barely even selling. Also it seems so far Tommy has been correct on everything he has been saying. It will probably top the country albums chart but you can sell 10,000 copies and be number 1. I honestly think the promotion of the singles is crap and she does one show performance than disappears lol

This isn't the same Shania everyone knew 15-20 years ago. I think you're overestimating the influence of holiday sales. I don't see people running out to the stores to buy the CD as a Christmas gift. I just don't. And the Shania fans will already have the album.

But i think you're very much underestimating her potential album sales.

I'm curious what the end of week US sales figures tell us about Swingin' because that will give us an indication of how many albums are pre-ordered. Luckily the song will get an extra push in its second week due to the tennis opening ceremony show and maybe the music video in the 3rd week (?). Of course she won't chart that well in itunes, because she's not known to most of the itunes generation, but as Kevy says I think album sales will be fine. (I expect around 80.000-100.000 in its first week)

The NOW album has a lot of potential. I was given a chance to hear other songs in the album and I am addicted to those songs. Hence, I won't judge it based on just the 3 songs that just been released LATGG, PM and SWMEC and how they performed on the charts. These were just the 3 songs out of the 16 and I heard 2 more and they were on repeat! 😄

Digital sales is new for Shania. I think that the long period of NOW release is another strategy to test on how Shania perform on digital sales through her singles. While I understand the turnout of her singles currently, it is totally different when you got the entire album and for sure people will talk about it. My take is that the album is going to be massive!

Nevetheless, the NOW will be number 1. Let's claim it! 😍

I think that "Swingin' With My Eyes Closed" is produced by Ron Aniello. During her interview with Dan Wootton, she said she was with him working on another song of the album when she came up with this melody.

You can listen to the interview here. For the whole story about the song scroll to minute 5:30:

By the way: the video for LATGG debuted on GAC Top 20 Countdown  last week at #17. This week it jumped 10 spots to #7!!!!

As i said i believe how songs do on iTunes has nothing to do with an artist like Shania who is about album sales. Some people here are very much underestimating how much Shania will sell. Miley has released two songs off her new album and gotten lots of airplay too but Shania's new album is ranked higher than Miley on Amazon more than a month before both are released. i will say this again, take your song itunes chart and throw it away lol Shania will sell lots of albums this year, mark my words.🤤🤤😲😲

Nope lol lots and lots of fans like me will buy the album at a store when it comes out.shania has millions of fans like me who are not obsessed but will buy her cd at a store when it comes out.

That is not true at all. Her new album will sell well nomatter what. Her new album is ranked higher on Amazon than Miley's with both over a month away from release.   If you are going just by two singles released on iTunes to judge how her album will sell then you are headed for a surprise.

Okay kevy is taking another break. Too much negativity here and the album is still over a month before release. i will say this once again Shania's album will sell very well so all you obsessed with singles on an itune chart are being misled as to what really drives Shania's album sales. Shania has 16 songs on the album and some people are predicting her failure already lol lol So i am taking a long break from this depressing site with so much negativity for her first album in 15 years. i will buy her highly anticipated album in September and then go to Hawai'i in October and top up my tan and enjoy life 😎 Hey everyone is entitled to an opinion as am i, and i predict a very successful album with good sales and a couple gems off this album. Now i will go and not waste my time on this site anymore, not that i will be missed 🤤😲😲 just too negative and i try and keep my distance from negative people and negative influences these days. So those looking forward to her new album i hope you enjoy it because it will be a success 😁😊

Not to get technical, but actually 3 singles counting the "Poor Me" promo...

According to an article last week on Shania's official website, "SWMEC" isn't being sent to radio until September 18.

Shania Twain to Release ‘Swingin’ With My Eyes Closed’ to Country Radio

By Kelly Brickey | Sounds Like Nashville | August 21, 2017

Shania Twain is making her big comeback into country music by “Swingin’ With My Eyes Closed” and landing right back on radio everywhere.

The country superstar catapulted back into the spotlight with her ‘Summer of Shania’ spirit after announcing that she would be releasing her first new album in 15 years called NOW. “Swingin’ With My Eyes Closed” holds the spot as her second single sent out to country radio and she’s surely powerful throughout the optimistic fight in the lyrics.

With the chorus creating an anthem through words like, “I’m swinging with my eyes closed / Got my hair down a wide open road / I’m swinging with my eyes closed / Only God knows how far it goes,” Twain stands up for herself in times of doubt and fear thanks to her dignified confidence.

“Swingin’ With My Eyes Closed” follows that of her upbeat perspective on “Life’s About to Get Good.” Twain used her voice to nod toward the positivity she feels after her revitalizing epiphany from love throughout the past couple years. Ready to share her happy message with fans and the world, it seems as though Twain promises bigger and better things lying ahead for her.

One of those things happens to be a massive North American tour supporting her album throughout the late spring and summer of next year. She’ll hit both coasts as well as go back home to her native Canada for a handful of shows. Tickets will go on sale for the Shania Now Tour on Friday, August 25.

Twain will release her long-awaited album, NOW, to fans on September 29.

Shania's label has done well to lower the price of her Greatest Hits album in order to bring her name back into the charts for people to see. Because of this, Shania's Greatest Hits album currently sits at #1 on iTunes Country Albums Chart. SWMEC currently sits at #56 on the iTunes Country Singles Chart. LATGG seems to have peaked on the AC Radio Chart as it has not really gained any more spins, despite moving up one slot to #18.
