Shania Twain heading to Vegas with 'Let's Go!' residency
By Michael Rothman | Good Morning America | June 17, 2019
Shania Twain in Sin City? Yes and yes!
The iconic country singer is returning to Las Vegas with a new residency, “Let’s Go!” at the Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, starting on Dec. 6.
"We are having a party in Las Vegas," Twain said Monday on "Good Morning America." "This [show] is about let your hair down, shake it out, party together, celebrate."
"We’ll do a lot of dancing, a lot of interaction," she said, explaining that this residency will be much different than her first two-year residency in Las Vegas that wrapped in 2014.
Twain said she is in a "much more positive spirit" today, a few years after publicly revealing her battle with Lyme disease.
"The first residency really was the big test. Would I be able to do it, period," she said. "I had made that commitment without even realizing that I would actually get on that stage that first night."
"After being able to do that I felt like I could do anything so I went on tour and I made a new album and, of course, now I'm invited back to Las Vegas for another residence and I'm honored and grateful that I can sing again," Twain said. "It's been a big challenge because there was a long time I thought I never would again."
Tickets to see the five-time Grammy winner go on sale Friday and dates are as follows:
December: 6, 7, 11, 13, 14, 18
March: 13, 14, 18, 20, 21, 25, 27, 28
May: 20, 22, 23, 27, 29, 30
June: 3, 5, 6
Tickets will be $80 and $1 of every purchase will go toward Shania Kids Can, the singer's nonprofit that helps kids "in time of crises and economic hardship."
Twain last performed in Vegas from 2012 to 2014 with her "Still the One" residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.
Shania Twain set to party again in Vegas with new residency
By Mesfin Fekadu | Associated Press | June 17, 2019
Shania Twain poses for a portrait at her Manhattan hotel, Friday, June 14, 2019, in New York. Twain will begin a new residency in Las Vegas at Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, starting in December 2019.
NEW YORK (AP) — Since Shania Twain launched her first residency in Las Vegas seven years ago, Sin City has been invaded with contemporary pop stars, from Lady Gaga to Drake to Christina Aguilera, jumping on the residency trend. Even Cardi B has plans for a short-term Vegas residency this year.
"I know! What are these people (doing) jumping on my bandwagon?" a smiling Twain said as she announced her return to Vegas for a new residency, starting Dec. 6. "Everybody knows that Vegas is awesome and it's only getting better."
On Monday, the queen of country pop announced 23 performances for her "Let's Go!" residency at Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. Tickets go on sale Friday.
Britney Spears, Bruno Mars, Mariah Carey, Calvin Harris, Janet Jackson, Jennifer Lopez, Aeromsith, Boyz II Men, Pitbull, Gwen Stefani and Backstreet Boys are just some of the acts who have bombarded Vegas with long and short-term residencies since Twain wrapped her first two-year stint in 2014.
"Not everybody gets invited to do a residency and certainly not a long-term residency. It's one thing to go and do six shows or something like that, but when you're in a long-term residency, it's a commitment," she said. "A really big commitment."
After Vegas, Twain went on traditional tours — in 2015 and 2018 — but said there's a plus side to performing at the same venue every night.
"You can really take advantage of the highest standard technology that is usually too sensitive to take on the road and travel. You can't pack it up and take it down every day. So it's a production dream, Las Vegas," she said.
"And also, it's just great for my voice to be able to be stabilized in an environment that I can control. And I really appreciate that these days with all my Lyme disease voice issues."
Twain trained with coaches and worked extensively to rebuild her voice after she contracted Lyme disease. After 15 years, she finally released an album, 2017's "Now."
To keep her voice intact in Vegas' dry heat, the 53-year-old said she will "take a steam shower every night as I start my warmups before the show."
One of the best-selling artists of all-time, with hits like "You're Still the One," ''From This Moment On" and "That Don't Impress Me Much," Twain has the title of creative director for the residency. She said she wants the audience to party alongside her each night.
"It (will be) like a giant nightclub," she said. "I'm actually going to put a dance floor on the stage so there'll be some fun audience participation."
"I've got so many fans that in the '90s were 3, 4 or 5 years old and now they're graduating from college — they've got that to celebrate," she added. "Or they're maybe getting married now, and they're bringing their parents to my shows these days, so it's just a great party vibe."
Some of those young fans — the Canadian Women's Soccer Team — went viral last week when they sang Twain's late '90s hit "Man! I Feel Like a Woman!" on a bus traveling to a game.
Twain said she was moved and "personally very touched" when she watched the clip, which she retweeted.
"That's a good example of young adults that probably came to my concerts years ago on their parent's shoulders, and now they're in championship leagues and starting professional careers of their own," she said.
"Like, I know with touring, whole teams would come to the show. It's rowdy and you get a whole team of girls coming and singing along. ... It's what I'm really writing the show around — let's get together and let our hair down and shake it out."
Could someone clarify for me - are the announced shows all of the shows or did they only released the first set of dates (until June 2020). Everywhere is saying a 2 year residency but these dates are only 6 months. I’m just trying to figure out if I need to buy tickets In this set of shows or if more will be released. Thanks in advance!

Yes, it's a 2-year residency. Only the first 23 shows through June 2020 will go on-sale this week. I'm not sure when the next batch will go on-sale.

Shania Twain returns to Vegas 'with more mental and emotional space' to produce new show
By Jane Stevenson | Toronto Sun | June 17, 2019
Shania Twain is ready to say, “Let’s go (girls,)” again in Sin City.
The Canadian country crossover star announced Monday that she will begin her next Las Vegas residency — called Let’s Go! — at Planet Hollywood’s Zappos Theater starting Dec. 6.
Tickets for 23 performances through to June 2020 go on sale Friday, June 21, and one dollar of every ticket sold goes towards Shania Kids Can.
Twain, of course, previously dipped her performance toe on the Vegas strip with the Still The One show at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace that ran from 2012-2014 and was followed by the 2017 release of her Now album and 2018 Now tour.
“Every time over these years since I left to go on tour and make an album, I’m always asked, ‘Are you going to come back and do another show in Vegas?’” said Twain, 53, in a Canadian print exclusive with the Toronto Sun.
“So it never felt like they forgot about me. And it was such a really great impression on both (my and the city’s) parts. So I’m ready to do it again for sure.”
But the Still The One show came at a time when Twain was just getting her performing legs back after a long break when her singing voice was weakened by dysphonia and Lyme disease.
With Let’s Go!, Twain is ready to take control as the producer and director.
“I’m taking more responsibility with this show,” she said. “The Still The One show, I was really overcoming (some things). I threw myself into that on purpose to face my fear of going out live again and challenging my voice and my ability. I didn’t know what to expect from it. And that really went very well. And that’s really why I went on that world tour. I would have never leapt into that off the bat. So everything’s evolved and naturally fallen into place. Now, I think I’ve gotten more mental and emotional space to produce the show. I established a very good team on the tour as well so I had a head start on pulling that team together for this show.”
Not that Let’s Go! will have any similarities to the Now tour, said Twain.
And, sadly, unlike the Still The One show, there won’t be a horse on stage.
“One day, I’m going to have a horse again in a show!” said Twain.
“It will not be the Let’s Go! show. The Let’s Go! show is really about the party and the audience and the interaction, fashion, and letting your hair down. This is the ‘Let your hair down, shake it all out,’ show. But talking about horses. The beauty about being back in Las Vegas and being somewhere where I can stay for awhile, I’m bringing my horses to Las Vegas. So I’ll be riding my horses AFTER the show. Wishes is mine and my husband (Fred’s) horse is Harley.”
Meanwhile, her 17-year son Eja (with first husband-producer-songwriter “Mutt” Lange) is “super good,” she reports.
“He’s producing music. It’s what he loves.”
The Zappos Theater has previously hosted the likes of Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, Gwen Stefani, Christina Aguilera and the Backstreet Boys.
Twain was disappointed to have never caught JLo but got advice from some of the other artists.
“I love her,” said Twain of Lopez. “I wanted to see her. I’ll have to catch her somewhere else. She’s one of my favourite artists. I’m a very big fan. But I’ve seen everybody else. Gwen was great. She was sharing a lot about the sound and how she was adapting things in there being a very different room in a lot of ways, just talking a lot about the stage, about the room in general. The Backstreet Boys, we’ve talked a lot about that. They loved being there and they loved bringing their families.”
Twain said she is writing new music for a studio album and planning a Christmas album but doesn’t think either will be ready this year because of the new Vegas residency.
That doesn’t mean audiences at the Zappos Theater won’t hear new songs.
“It would be quite dream-like to be able to introduce songs that I’m going to record that I haven’t recorded yet, that would be fun to share with the audience I think,” said Twain. “And I will do a couple of new songs from the new album, for sure, from Now. (But) I will primarily do the classics because I want everybody to enjoy that nostalgia.”
In fact, this new show is centred “around the interaction with fans,” said Twain with a laugh.
“I’m reconfiguring the stage so it’ll be a stage in Zappos that no other artist has had. So I’m designing a dance floor on the stage so you can imagine what’s going to happen there.” — Sporty Shania speaks:
Shania Twain, who was in Toronto last Thursday for Game 6 of the NBA Finals which saw the Raptors beat the Golden State Warriors in Oakland and win their first-ever NBA championship, was excited about the way the whole country has embraced the Raps as their team.
“Woooo! Isn’t that great? I love it!” she said enthusiastically. “I mean, how awesome is that? I’m just so thrilled that this is happening. I’m quite sure that a Canadian (James Naismith) invented basketball so, of course, we need to have a star team.”
Twain was also thrilled to see the Canadian women’s soccer team dance and sing to her song Man! I Feel Like A Woman on the team bus in France as they compete in the Women’s World Cup.
“This is what I do music for — to inspire people, all kinds of people,” said Twain.
“When there’s a sports team, a female sports team, on top of it, that are using my music to build up their confidence, to prepare them for a big moment, it moves me. It’s touching, very touching.”
Twain, a well-known hockey lover, was also in Toronto the day after the St. Louis Blues won their first-ever Stanley Cup defeating the Boston Bruins, a game she watched.
She said she wasn’t surprised at their win.
“No — this is one of the staple teams of my youth,” she said. “I’ve actually watched quite a bit of the season. And don’t forget now that I’m spending more time in Las Vegas (at my new residency) and they’ve got a hockey (team with the Golden Knights) now (so I’ll get to see more.)”
Shania Twain On Her New Las Vegas Residency: ‘I Can’t Wait To Get Back’
By Cat Williams | ET Canada | June 17, 2019
Let’s go, girls! Shania Twain is returning to Las Vegas.
Speaking with ET Canada’s Cheryl Hickey, the Canadian Queen of Country Pop reveals she is back with her new show “Shania Twain Let’s Go! The Residency” at the Zappos Theater inside Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.
“It’s a big deal!” the five-time Grammy Award winner says of her new residency, which will open in December of this year with dates through June 2020. “I can’t wait to get back, Vegas! I really love it there.”
Following an eight-year bout with Lyme Disease, Twain headlined a show-stopping two-year Las Vegas residency in 2012 and launched her comeback “Rock This Country” tour in 2015.
Looking towards another Canadian music queen, Celine Dion, who recently ended her Las Vegas residency on June 8, the 28-time CCMA Award winner says she got “teary-eyed” watching her last show.
“Celine has been such a constant figure in Las Vegas and I’m so proud of her as a Canadian to have dominated the stage in Las Vegas as the longest-standing female ever,” Twain explains. “So I had to be there and see that final show.”
Teasing her new residency, Twain, who also contends she is “basically directing the production,” promises that fans will hear new music at her show.
“I am working on new music. I’m very excited,” she says, adding that she still, however, plans to “focus a lot on the classics.”
Meanwhile, Twain has remained busy, taking her shot at making it big on the silver screen alongside “Riverdale” star KJ Apa in the upcoming true-life story “I Still Believe”, hitting theatres in March 2020.
Despite Twain admitting that Apa pranked her “twice in a row” on set, the singer says she loved the change of pace
“I love the environment,” she explains. “It’s so much bigger than doing a music video, for example. It’s less intense because music videos are a real sprint and movie-making is definitely more of a marathon.”
Tickets for Twain’s new Las Vegas residency will go on sale Friday, June 21, at 1:00 p.m. ET with $1 a ticket donated to Shania Kids Can.
Considering the first residency and the same talks back then, I'm very sceptical this time and I don't believe any new music will be in the show. Besides, maybe some Christmas song in December but even this is pretty unlikely. I think so because of her vocal issues as well. As she has difficulties with singing live, her show should be pre-recorded and predictable for her vocally, so she will lack flexibility as she lacked it during Now Tour. I was so frustrated with her when after all the buzz in social media, she wasn't able so sing at least chorus of When for Kevin Owens.

Well I was lucky enough to secure two tickets to the March 21st concert. For those of you waiting for general sale, MAKE SURE YOU CLICK THE EVENT ON THE SITE WAY BEFORE THE TIME. I was accidentally on the site in the date I wanted and sometime before the actual sale of tickets, I was put into a waiting room. I then moved from waiting room to queue at on-sale time. I got lucky that I did that because I went back in after buying my tickets and it was no longer available. This venue looks much cooler than Cesar's in regards to seating.
I managed to get VIP right behind gold circle (these were not an option for sales) and it looks like a small table area which would be awesome for Shania walking around!
Also, there are a ton of upgrades, best one being an additional $1500 per ticket which gets you photo and spot on stage while Shania sings a song. Pretty hefty price though considering two tickets were $658 including fees.
Looking forward to the show and hopefully more info.

Thanks for the ticket info. Looks like you got great seats! Great, but pretty expensive.
I saw it costs $600 for front row and $800 if you want to go on the dance floor.

Hi,
Wonder were these seats are?? In the parking lot? LOL!! " Tickets will be $80 and $1 of every purchase will go toward Shania Kids Can, the singer's nonprofit that helps kids "in time of crises and economic hardship."
Have to be mighty rich if you are traveling from a distance to do the Vegas thing and to do it right.
I don’t think “Doing it Right” means buying the most expensive tickets available.
The $80 seats in Zappos are amazing. It’s where I sat for Lionel Richie and I had an awesome experience.
Zappos as a theatre has such wide range when it comes to seats, fan experiences, etc.
I had $200 seats for Britney Spears... also amazing.
A friend of mine did the VIP packages for Lionel Richie ($1500) and said it was soooooo worth it! Personally, I would never think spending that money worth it
I think its it’s safe to say whatever one spends, you’ll have an awesome time if you go in with the mindset of having a great time.

Hi,
Shania is well worth any amount of money for the VIP. I did it for the Rock this Country tour and loved it. I caught 4 picks that night and she stayed on my side of the stage because I didn't stop singing and dancing the whole show. She loves audience interaction. Would love to be able to do it at Vegas but not a lot of time to save up that kind of money.
I agree it is of course worth the money, if it can be afforded. The only point I was making (and I think I wasn’t very clear in my writing) was that when there isn’t time to save, or one has other financial commitments, a great time can be had in the $80 seats as well. Better to go see an awesome show than miss out on it.

I also voice my concerns about continuing to do live shows with a struggle on the "live" vocals. I have been a fan of Shania for many years. I, like many of you, waited a very long time between Up! and Now. Looking through clips on youtube (fan shot...not the official dubbed ones), it's easy to see that Shania's voice was in much better shape during her first Vegas residency and on the Rock This Country Tour. So I'm curious about the timeline of the surgeries and how much her voice will continue to degrade. It is sad that she did not produce more material during this time when her voice was in a much better state. I hope that she has a few more albums left in her.
Shania said there will be a few songs from NOW and may experiment with new music she hasn't recorded yet. "MAY" is the key word. I wouldn't hold your breath.
Wonder if we could expect to hear “Forever and For Always?” I don’t understand why she doesn’t sing this song anymore.
I'd LOVE to see her sing that song again. But I think it's too demanding for her new voice, even if she could use a backing track like she does with From This Moment On.

What do you mean by backing track? And why demanding? It is 100% playback I thought this is called playback and she should be able to do any song on playback or is it hard to keep the mouth open too long? As I remember she doesn’t want to perform the song because it reminds her on the relationship with Mutt. But as she’s playing like 95% of his songs she shouldn’t care.
Um no it isn't 100 percent playback. Many of the songs were live with some backing track on others. I went to her concert in Edmonton on the NOW tour. I could tell very easily lots of songs are live vocals with some other parts she sang to backing tracks. if you think she just shows mouthing words to every song then you're sadly mistaken lol as for forever and for always? It has nothing to do with mutt at all lol she doesn't sing it because it is harder for her now to reach those high notes like when she sang live with Allison and Krause on that song
Hey, a fellow Edmontonian! I agree. I was at her show in Edmonton too and she is a did a lot of live singing. Also agree that the range on Forever and For Always is INSANE

"Let's Go!" to Vegas: Shania's using her exclusive Sin City meet-and-greets to help kids
ABC News Radio | July 9, 2019
If you want to meet Shania Twain during her new Let’s Go! residency at Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, you’ll only have four chances -- and the premium you pay will go to help the superstar’s Shania Kids Can program.
Shania will only do a meet-and-greet and pose for photos at the final show during each month of her run, during December, March, May, and June. Other packages -- like front row seats -- are also available at IfOnly.com/Shania. They’ll benefit Shania Kids Can as well.
In addition, one dollar from every ticket sold will go to the cause. Shania started the organization in 2010 to help children in times of crisis and economic hardship.
