Carrot Top, Terry Fator, Unknown Comic (in absentia) at Golden Knights opener

The Kats! Bureau at this writing is The Perch at T-Mobile Arena, high above the frozen sheet where the Vegas Golden Knights are playing the San Jose Sharks. The home opener is as unruly as Carrot Top’s hair, and gosh if he wasn’t one of the Vegas headliners who descended on Toshiba Square’s Gold Carpet to celebrate this season’s lid-lifter.

Ventriloquial vet Terry Fator and his stoner figure, Duggie Scott Walker; Blue Man Group; Daniel Platzman and Ben McKee of Imagine Dragons; Criss Angel; members of “Fantasy” at Luxor, “Love” at the Mirage and “Thunder From Down Under” at Excalibur; Las Vegas Lights coach Eric Wynalda and John Taffer of “Bar Rescue” were all in the pre-game action outside “The Fortress.”

The pregame videos again featured such Las Vegas-linked famous people as Wayne Newton, Donny & Marie Osmond, Gwen Stefani, Backstreet Boys, Jimmy Kimmel, Bryce Harper and Brandon Flowers of The Killers.

If you’re a headliner in Las Vegas, you need to connect with this team. Look for Shania Twain, returning to headline status at Zappos Theater, to record her own video and (likely) be a fixture at home games. Twain is a serious hockey fan from her day growing up in Timmins, Ontario, Canada.

As Twain said in a recent interview, “I’ve got to get ready to get out there and skate or something, and make a fool of myself.”

Carrot Top has already done that, but we can use some Shania in here.

And we really need Steven Tyler and Aerosmith in this place, too, ASAP. That’s a formal request. Because bedlam.

Shania Twain’s Brampton Kids Club to benefit from Las Vegas residency

Twain’s residency in Las Vegas provides funding opportunities for Brampton’s Sir Winston Churchill Public School

Shania Twain Kids Club members from Sir Winston Churchill Public School in Brampton got a surprise on
Wednesday when a tractor trailer containing Shania's custom made horse shaped motorcycle arrived at
the school. At the bike inside the trailer, are in front, Jacob, Deanna, and Robert. On the bike is Kaylee,
and at the back are Akeisha, Monique, Never, and Tristan.

Students at the Shania Twain Kids Can Clubhouse at Brampton’s Sir Winston Churchill Public School, got to partake in an important part of their latest fundraising program and contest.

On Wednesday, Sept. 25 the students waited to see a personalized motorcycle that was being hauled in a tractor trailer.

The bike, which the students posed with, will be auctioned off, along with a pair of tickets to the opening night of Twain’s new residency in Vegas.

The trailer stopped at Sir Winston Churchill on its way to Las Vegas.

The funds from the contest will go back to the Shania Kids Can, a non-profit foundation providing programs to elementary school children through the Shania Kids Clubhouse.

There are five Shania Kids Clubhouses across the country.

The contest also includes accommodation and airfare.

The clubhouse provides the children at Sir Winston Churchill with important programs like psychological support, vocational training and healthy food options.

After the bike visited Sir Winston Churchill, it continued on its journey in a tractor trailer to Las Vegas.

Twain’s residency “Let’s Go!” starts on Dec. 6.

The SKC fundraiser runs from Oct. 15 to Nov. 21.
