It looks made up. Why would she open with MIFLAW? That's usually the closing song. She'll probably open with "I'm Gonna Getcha Good!" since the song starts with Let's Go.

***The tweet doesn't match what Shania is talking about in the Billboard interview. When she said "think purple" she was talking about her secret being announced on January 26. Not her show.

I thought, they told it is going to be something long-lasting. So 23 shows is all? Nothing like the previous one?

I highly doubt she will add shows in 2020. She's not selling the ones already announced. Maybe they will add 2-3 shows in December 2020 but I'm not sure...

Shania did say it's a 2-year residency when she announced it on "Good Morning America". So I guess we'll see.

I think it’s normal not to always have them sell out though. For pretty much ANY show on the strip you can buy tickets the day of for the show that evening 🤷‍♀️

Sales figures so far for the first 6 shows. I'd say Shania is doing pretty good. A lot of people buy tickets the day of the show. Over 300 tickets are still available for the first show. I'm surprised it's not sold out yet.

Shania Twain is gonna getcha good

By Matt Kelemen | Las Vegas Magazine | December 6, 2019

Shania Twain is no stranger to National Finals Rodeo. The end of her two-year Caesars Palace residency Shania: Still the One, during which she became the only Vegas headliner to ride a horse onstage, coincided with NFR in 2014. She rides into Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood during this year's rodeo for the debut of her Let's Go! residency, for which she serves as her own creative director.

Twain performed more than 100 shows at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace at a time when her voice was recuperating from nerve damage. She recovered enough to undertake her 2018 Now Tour, which provided production elements Twain built on for the first six shows of Let's Go! She'll be back for lengthier stays in March and May through June, giving her the option to revise the video, choreography, costume and bio-narrative as she wishes.

With Twain being friends with the likes of David Copperfield, it's likely she's picked up a few tips and tricks since she launched the Vegas chapter of her career from the saddle atop a black Andalusian that stopped traffic as it trotted up the Strip in 2012. She's likely to kick off her sets with "Life's About to Get Good" from her 2017 album release Now, and populate the set with hits from "Come On Over" and "Up!" to "I'm Gonna Getcha Good!" and "Man! I Feel Like a Woman!"

With all of those exclamation points, it's no surprise the new production will have a "party vibe" as opposed to Still the One's more theatrical approach, as she recently told Entertainment Weekly, and feature "very sexy fashions.

What Twain considers very sexy may be mind-blowingly sexy to ordinary mortals and reason enough to check out her Let's Go! residency, but Twain's ubiquitous presence in '90s pop culture will cause anyone more than 30 years old who hears her hits live to be nostalgia-triggered.

Planet Hollywood Resort, 8 p.m. Dec. 6-7, 11, 13-14 & 18, starting at $60 plus tax and fee. 800.745.3000 Ticketmaster

Shania Twain delivers a very Vegas opening at Planet Hollywood

By John Katsilometes | Las Vegas Review-Journal | December 8, 2019

How’s this going to go down? Shania Twain will tell you.

“You can stand during this show,” Twain told her full-house crowd at Zappos Theater on Saturday night. “Get your butts up and out of your seats. This is a party.”

So simple. With equal measures of confidence and comfort, Twain opened her “Let’s Go!” residency this weekend at the busy Planet Hollywood theater.

The show illustrates Twain’s seemingly seamless range as an artist. While it’s common for music artists to reinvent themselves over the course of a career, Twain manages it between numbers.

She opens with a song indicative of her rock-country attitude, “Rock This Country,” ascending down a red-carpeted staircase, the American flag flying across the LED screens and flames firing from the stage. Twain’s octet of backing dancers, who give the show additional Vegas panache, spend much of the show shirtless and wearing assorted vests.

Given Twain’s Canadian heritage, these gents could be known as the Thunder From Up North.

Soon, she’s seated on the fully-stacked bar at the Twain Saloon, casually imbibing from a sparkly sippy cup, not knowing if the clear beverage is gin or vodka. “I prefer champagne,” she says. “I’ll drink it through a straw. I need to conserve my lipstick!”

Hey. Idea. Shania Shampagne, served in commemorative bedazzled cups, should be offered at Zappos Theater.

A the creative director of this show, Twain has promised to push the limits of a Vegas residency. It’s a tall order, given the investment and imagination in the ongoing Gwen Stefani and Christina Aguilera productions. But Twain did her ground work, landing on Zappos Theater specifically because of its party atmosphere (including its standing pit at the front of the stage) and “gentle rake” that allows her to look her fans at close to eye level.

For local flavor, Las Vegas entertainment followers will recognize violinist Chandra Meibalane of Nina Di Gregorio’s Femmes of Rock, and also David Perrico’s Pop Strings lineup at Cleopatra’s Barge.

As a producer, Twain relishes such ode-to-Vegas video elements as tumbling dice and spinning slot reels, with fake cash showering the crowd at the jackpot moment. She swaps out her costumes six times — a full golden gown especially eye-popping — without sacrificing the show’s crisp pace. At one point, the backing dancers wear a similar style of LED-trimmed suits used in “Michael Jackson One” at Mandalay Bay.

The set list covered the span of Shania’s career, a musical serpentine through “Up! ” “You Don’t Impress Me Much,” “Any Man of Mine,” and “Forever And For Always.” She nodded to her most recent release, 2017’s “Now,” with the title track and “Life’s About To Get Good” (click here for the full setlist).

Twain dials it down to introduce her pet pooch, Melody, who reclines on a lounge and (metaphorically) gobbles up the scenery. The moment hints to Twain’s “Still The One” show at the Colosseum from 2012-2014, when she invited a horse onstage to sing the show’s title number.

Twain also invited a quartet of fans onstage for a saloon dance. Later, she corralled a couple to a candle-lit table for “From This Moment On.” Twain ends in a flourish, and not bothering with an encore, for “Man I Feel Like A Woman,” in an all-black ensemble replete with a top hat as her dancers wore white tux jackets and matching hats. Formal and casual, all at once.

Twain showed her ease onstage throughout, at one point using a magic wand to flip away the hair falling into her face (the use of the prop might or might not have been inspired by her friendship with Carrot Top).

Midway through the show, she joked that she had began her recording career at age 8, or “twenty-two years ago!”

“That makes me 28 now,” she announced. “Wait! No, it would make me 30!”

She laughed, saying, “I failed math! I failed math twice, actually. I did graduate eventually. But it doesn’t matter now!”

True. For Shania Twain and Las Vegas, it all adds up.

How’s this going to go down? Shania Twain will tell you.

Shania Twain’s ‘Let’s Go!’ Las Vegas Residency: 5 Takeaways From Star’s New Show

From a dedication to Prince to a jackpot of hits

By Mark Gray | Rolling Stone | December 8, 2019

Five years after ending her first Las Vegas residency, the wildly successful “Shania: Still the One” at Caesars Palace, Shania Twain returned to the city this weekend to kick off a brand-new engagement. This time, she’s at Planet Hollywood with a production titled “Shania Twain ‘Let’s Go!’ The Vegas Residency” — and, well, it did impress much. From onstage guests to a dedication to Prince, these are our five takeaways from Twain’s new 23-show Vegas run.

Shania wants you to dance, dance, dance.
Appropriately, just before singing “Up!” early in the two-hour show, Twain told the crowd to stand up and dance. “There will be a few quiet moments and you can give your feet a rest, but otherwise keep your butts off your seats,” she instructed the opening weekend audience. Considering the EDM interludes and LED-costumes on her dancers, Twain’s show vibrates with energy. While her previous Las Vegas residency at Caesars’ Colosseum had several lulls, this production seems allergic to such slow moments. It’s upbeat and akin to a Vegas nightclub. Said Twain, “We’re going to carry on with the party.”

Be warned: you may end up onstage.
Twain isn’t afraid of sharing the spotlight with her fans. While sitting atop a bar under a sign reading “Twain Town Saloon,” the singer invited several audience members onstage for “Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under?” She dressed her guests in skirts and had them participate in what she called a “country can-can.” “These are great blackmail photos,” she quipped. An admitted champagne drinker, Twain said she’s comfy singing from a bar. “I was really tiny and short so my mom put me up on bars to sing and here I am all these years later sitting up on a bar,” she said. In another moment, Twain had more fans onstage for a faux romantic dinner while she sang “From This Moment On.”

She dedicates a song to Prince.
Prior to her performance of “Forever and for Always,” during which she’s joined onstage by her family’s dog Melody, Twain talked about how the song reminds her of a very famous late friend. “This is kind of what I’m calling my ‘purple song’ because a very dear friend recorded this song and I hadn’t heard it in a really long time,” she said, remarking how she hadn’t regularly performed the song live. “He was a fan of mine and I was very inspired to put it back in my show and to dedicate the color purple to Prince.”

Shania shows off her goofy side.
Twain is fully comfortable in her own skin, and that’s what makes her so relatable, even onstage. While trying to casually and coolly sit on a chair, she struggled to appear graceful under the weight of her outfit. “It’s not very glamorous the way I’m doing this right now,” she said. “The sequins make up for it, I’m sure.” In another moment, she joked about her bad math skills (she failed the subject twice, she says.) Now 54, Twain laughs easily at her flaws — just don’t let her do your taxes.

The set list is a jackpot of hits.
In the end, “Let’s Go!” is a show about the hits, and Twain delivers the goods. “That Don’t Impress Me Much” “You’re Still the One,” “Come On Over,” “Honey, I’m Home,” and a show-closing “Man! I Feel Like a Woman” are all in the set list, reminding fans just how vast Twain’s catalog is. She’s not afraid of her recent history though — “Swingin’ With My Eyes Closed” makes an appearance near the end of the night — and Twain teased that new music could work its way into the show after the new year.

Shania Twain throws a big pop party with ‘Let’s Go!’ residency

By Brock Radke | Las Vegas Sun | December 9, 2019

Zappos Theater is the Las Vegas Strip’s headquarters for pop music favorites. Certainly this room at the Planet Hollywood resort is competing with the resident headliner lineups at Park Theater at Park MGM at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, but Live Nation’s curation of artists for Zappos showcases one element above all others — the ability to satisfy that artist’s fan following.

Shania Twain drove that feeling home Friday night during opening night of her “Let’s Go!” residency at Zappos Theater, her second spin on the Strip after the wildly successful “Still the One” show at the Colosseum from 2012 to 2014. It wasn’t just her hit-filled set of pop country tracks spread out over her career. It was also about her interaction with the audience, a packed house she completely won over by her fourth song “Up!,” the title track from her smash 2002 album.  Once the crowd was up out of their seats, Twain concentrated on keeping them standing for the rest of the night, even through a stripped-down yet energetic acoustic mini-set at the front of the stage and especially during a segment that perched the star on a bar with a makeshift saloon backdrop. She sang her way through “Any Man of Mine” and “Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under?” while audience members were called onstage and dressed in skirts to join a group of male dancers for a “country can-can” routine.

Considering this was opening night, Twain seemed incredibly relaxed and comfortable on her new Vegas stage, casually dropping self-deprecating jokes and performing the ballad “Forever and For Always” with her yellow lab sitting beside her. Surely her Colosseum run prepared her for this show, but she also noted Friday that she’s spent a lot of time at Zappos Theater in the last five years watching all the room’s residents perform. “I’d have to say my favorite is definitely the Backstreet Boys. I love those guys,” she said before giving a nod to the fans taking over her favorite place to sit, a VIP section stage-left where “they just keep serving Champagne!”

The Backstreet Boys are another great example of an act that fits perfectly at Zappos Theater, a successful pop group from a specific era whose fans just happen to be the perfect age to travel to Vegas, re-live their younger days through music and enjoy the nostalgia. Twain’s new show has a bit of that effect for casual fans who can’t wait to see her perform her biggest hits like “That Don’t Impress Me Much,” “Come On Over” and “Man! I Feel Like a Woman.” But this show is really about her more serious fans, the ones who really enjoy watching Twain enjoy herself and who want to hear songs like “Life’s About to Get Good” from her most recent album “Now” and “Honey, I’m Home” from way back in 1997.

Twain probably could have returned to the Colosseum with this new concert production but she’s clearly all about throwing a big musical party with her fans and that’s why Zappos Theater is the ideal Vegas venue. “Let’s Go!” continues at 8 p.m. December 11, 13, 14 and 18 at Planet Hollywood (3667 Las Vegas Blvd. South, 702-777-2782) and more info can be found at caesars.com.

Shania Twain Kicks Off Energetic New Las Vegas Residency Show: 'I'm Intrigued by the Visual'

The singer pulls members of the crowd to sing on stage with her and performs with her dog Melody in the show

By Mark Gray | PEOPLE | December 9, 2019

Shania Twain‘s new “Let’s Go” residency in Las Vegas is a cacophony of singalongs and hits, but she’s already teasing the addition of new music, and maybe even an acoustic show in the future.

“I’d love to do a whole acoustic show. I don’t know if you’re going to be bored with that though. People are so used to seeing me rock it out,” she told PEOPLE backstage, citing the positive reaction to a stripped-down version of “You’re Still the One” during her new residency show. “I liked that they were into the mood of it.”

Currently recording new songs, she said an upcoming album would have an “organic acoustic” feel, something that feels “intimate.” At least one of those songs could easily work itself into “Let’s Go.”

For Twain, a Vegas residency is nothing new, as she had a widely successful series that ran from 2012-2014 at Caesars Palace. She’s done two tours since her previous Vegas stint.

“Halfway through that last tour I thought, I think I’d like to be back on another residency,” she said. “I think the only place that I would really want to be in one place is Las Vegas.”

During the “Let’s Go” residency, Twain serves as creative director, as well. The show features big moments, sentimental moments and she even performs with her dog Melody at one point. Quite honestly, it carries a strong party vibe through much of it, and the fact that she begins the show with “Rock This Country” gives a sense of what’s to come.

Then, naturally, there’s the fashion.

Twain, 54, does eight costume changes during the two-hour show that range from fun and flirty to “mermaidy,” as she calls the shimmering dress she wears for “From This Moment On.”

“It’s so important for me when I go to a show that I enjoy the visual,” she said. “I’m intrigued by the visual. I like things that sparkle and, from a practical standpoint, things have to be comfortable. I have to be able to sing and move. I can’t be distracted… You’ve got to build the wardrobe to the set.”

The sets during the show inside Planet Hollywood’s Zappos Theater change throughout the show, going from a makeshift bar to even a faux romantic dinner (in both sets she pull audience members from the crowd to share the stage with).

The audience members, of course, create a thrilling sense of the unknown. On Saturday night, a man tried to have a conversation with Twain while she sat atop the mobile bar, telling her it was his 50th birthday. You can’t really blame him. How many chances do you get to speak to an icon?

Even after all the albums sold and having the honor of being the best-selling female artist in country music history, Twain, who is a bonafide crossover star, doesn’t necessary like to box herself into music genres.

“I see myself in more of the realm of a Stevie Nicks,” she said. “I grew up singing rock. I grew up singing country. I could have just focused on one genre, but that’s not who I am. I meld things I’ve gotten influences from. I’m a little bit of a hybrid artist. I’m not a purist.”

What she is, though, is a Vegas headliner … again.

***Strange. Words like acoustic, organic, etc were also used to describe Shania's NOW album: "Implementing acoustic instruments like mandolin, banjo, percussion, and guitar, the sonic palette carries what she refers to as “an organic thread” with “a bit of a retro sound,” often veering from roots-y to soulful."

Shania Twain’s Let’s Go! Las Vegas Residency: 5 Reasons It’s a Can’t-Miss

By Courtney Carr | The Boot | December 9, 2019

Shania Twain's new Let's Go! The Vegas Residency opened Friday night (Dec. 6), and the country star kicked things off with one heck of a show.

Twain's big Vegas party opens with clips of her most famous moments and iconic looks -- and when the curtain opens, a dramatic black staircase is center stage, and pyrotechnic setups hurl flames into the air on Twain's cue. Dressed in a gorgeous black gown, the singer teases the the crowd with a few notes of and lines from arguably her most famous song, "Man! I Feel Like a Woman!" -- the residency's title is a play on the song's opening line -- but fans have to wait until the show's end to hear the full megahit.

"I get to settle down with a great production and have a party. So I'm gonna theme the show after a party. It's time to party!" Twain tells ET of Let's Go! The Vegas Residency, and throw a party she does. The show features all of the singer's well-known hits, a vibrant set design and plenty of high-energy boot stompin'. Here are a few more of the show's highlights:

The Vibrant Set Design

Twain has always been one for visuals, and her residency shows are no exception. There are countless set changes throughout the night, many with strong geometric vibes and vibrant colors, as well as a perfectly created "Twain Town" that pays homage to her country roots in the form of a Wild West saloon.

The Costume Changes

Twain is still a master of fashion: She completes seven costume changes throughout her residency shows! The star begins the night in an elegant black ballgown, but kicks things up with short skirts, plenty of fringe and even more sequins and glitter.

A Perfectly Balanced Setlist

Twain promised a party and gave the audience just that -- but what the singer also did was perfectly nestle sentimental moments into the night. When it came time for her song "Forever and for Always," fans were surprised to see Twain's beloved dog laying down on a plush lounge chair. The singer cozied up to her faithful companion to perform the classic song after first talking about its relation to Prince (the late music icon wanted to produce an album of Twain's, but died before he could do so).

In addition to sharing that more intimate moment with the audience, Twain also slowed things down for "From This Moment On," during which one lucky couple was seated onstage, at a bistro table, against a beautiful sunset background. Twain sang from a mock pier in a gorgeous gold, floor-length dress with dramatic floor-length sleeves. The couple sipped champagne while enjoying the once-in-a-lifetime moment.

Shania Embraces Her Flirty Side

Twain works in a male-dominated industry, but she's not afraid to assert her womanhood and do things how she wants. Throughout her Vegas show, Twain is flanked by an entourage of well-toned men dancing either in silk shirts and vests, or without shirts at all. They dance with Twain, carry her around and, at one point, perform an entire number in boxer briefs. It sounds a little Chippendales-esque, but in true Twain fashion, it was equal parts sexy, classy and fun.

All the Hits Are Here!

Twain delivers hit after hit, the songs arriving one after another like waves crashing on a beach. Twain kicks off her Vegas party with "Rock This Country," then includes "Up!," "Come on Over," "You're Still the One," "I'm Gonna Getcha Good!" and more. The singer also plays her tried-and-true country favorites "Any Man of Mine" and "Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under?" Naturally, she closes the show with "Man! I Feel Like a Woman!"

Let's Go! The Vegas Residency is currently scheduled to run through June, though ET reports that the residency will last for two years. Ticket prices start at $60 plus taxes and fees, and $1 from each ticket will be donated to Twain's children-focused charity, Shania Kids Can.

Let's Go! The Vegas Residency takes at the Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, and all shows start at 8PM. Visit Ticketmaster.com for full details.

Shania Twain brings new momentum into her second Las Vegas residency

By Brock Radke | Las Vegas Weekly | December 12, 2019

Las Vegas loved Shania Twain when she rode a horse down the Strip to open her two-year Still the One residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in 2012. The show also proved to be an epic success and the spark for a comeback that continued with two tours and Twain's first studio album in 15 years, 2017's Now.

But the queen of pop country also fell in love with Las Vegas during that first residency run, and Twain's comfort level is the primary reason she decided to return for the new Let's Go! show, which opened last week at Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood.

"I feel very at home [in Las Vegas]. I'm excited to get creative again with this platform and a Vegas residency is so unique," she tells the Weekly. "It's such a luxury for an artist, because you get to dive into all this technology you can't take on tour. It's like a playground, and I feel privileged to be invited back."

"But I'm excited just to be back in the city. During the [first] residency I got to know the city better and just fell in love with it. And I like to be in the audience. I'm always out eating at the restaurants and seeing other shows and going to hockey games. I guess I delved into the spirit of being a member of the community, and you know you're never bored in Las Vegas."

Twain has seen every residency show at Zappos Theater and even caught Celine Dion's final performance at the Colosseum over the summer. That Vegas showgoer experience has influenced the creative direction of her residency.

"I'm more hands-on this time around, and I'm more familiar with the process," she says. "This stage is a bit smaller and more like a touring stage in the sense that it's set up more like an amphitheater. It's very rock 'n' roll, a very interactive stage, less formal than over at Caesars. There's more room to play with a hybrid of theater-meets-arena concert. I'm very comfortable creating there."

Now that Twain has toured behind her latest album and given the new music a proper road test, she has a more expansive—and certainly hit-filled—toolbox from which to draw. But she also noted that she's working on another album that could be released next year, and that should lead to even more possibilities for the Vegas stage.

"The important part of [Now] was to share it with a live audience and get their reaction and response. That was everything. Of course, I didn't make the record to play in my room alone, but it meant a lot to fans, too," she says. "It was an amazing tour, and it's also what drew me to doing another residency, because I wanted to indulge more in that production. I am working on a new album and ... I'll be able to release new music for the second year of my residency, and I will adapt the show for sure. The second year will be different from the first."

Shania Twain’s Planet Hollywood Residency

By Beatriz Carias | Tonight Magazine | December 12, 2019

This classic country star kicked off her Las Vegas residency tour at Planet Hollywood.

The crowd expected her to open this important show with full force. Thousands of people crowded into Zappos theater to watch her very first performance of the tour. Fans young and old waited in anticipation for the eight o’clock show. Unfortunately, it did not start on time. The crowd was kept waiting for half an hour for it to begin. When the lights finally dimmed, fans cheered with excitement. Everyone was met with a couple of loud thuds from a drum that were unexpected and took a few people by surprise.

The audience cheered when the curtain finally dropped to reveal Shania on a lit up staircase dressed in a full length ball gown. It was a spectacular sight. She teased the audience with lines from her smash it ‘Man! I feel Like a Woman.’ Flames erupted from the stage with each line of the chorus. Such a grand entrance left show goers excited to see how the rest of the night would unfold.

The “Queen of Country Pop” opened with ‘Rock this Country’ that brought people to their feet. She sang songs from old albums and tied in newer songs off of her latest album. Her outfits were nothing but extraordinary. Each costume she changed into had some sort of sparkle to it that showed off her fun personality.

As the night continued, the concert hit a few glitches. The lights were too bright (when they worked), the volume was too loud, and the dancers were off beat. It felt as though everyone needed at least one more dress rehearsal to really tie everything together. The stage itself felt busy and distracting. Monitors filled the area with bright lights with moving animations making it difficult to know where to begin focusing your attention. Her background dancers added to the distraction as well. Their costumes made them look like they were off to the Magic Mike show instead.

Towards the middle of the show, the venue experienced a power outage that left the strobe lights on for a painful amount of time. People had to close their eyes or turn away to keep from being blinded. The curtains that were placed over the lights to try to dim the effects made little impact either. It was a nauseating experience. This was a major hitch that impacted the mood of the night. After the lights were fixed,  a couple was brought out so Shania could serenade them. Although a sweet sentiment, it felt odd that the couple was placed clear across the stage from the Country Queen herself. There was little interaction between Shania and the couple. Her lack of eye contact with them made the song an awkward experience.

The strobe lights were not the only electrical difficulties that were encountered throughout the night. Backup dancers had lights that did not work for costumes, and props that did not light up when necessary as well.

Shania brought out a set with her dog on it as a tribute to the late singer Prince. Again, it was a sweet sentiment to the beloved singer, but she did not think through the auditory consequences of putting a dog on stage at a concert that was already too loud for human ears. This really should have been thought through more.

When she sang a cover of White Christmas, her voice did not compliment the song.  Shania ended with her hit “Man! I Feel Like a Woman!” which brought everyone to their feet again.  Overall, the night was not what one would expect for an opening night from the beloved star. Hopefully the glitches from the show will be worked out for the future.
