If you’ve been tracking the trends in headlining residencies on the Las Vegas Strip in recent years, you’ve noticed that plenty of these superstars are country artists, and plenty of them are women. And that’s because those shows work.
Live Nation and Caesars Entertainment announced the latest Vegas residency show today, Miranda Lambert: Velvet Rodeo, opening at Zappos Theater at the Planet Hollywood Resort on September 23. Considering the 38-year-old singer and songwriter was just crowned Entertainer of the Year at the Academy of Country Music Awards and rules as the most decorated artist in ACM history, this one looks like a lock.
Tickets for 24 concerts running from September 2022 through April 2023 go on sale to the general public April 7 at ticketmaster.com/mirandavegas. Lambert will take up the baton at Zappos Theater after one of the most successful country artists of all time, Shania Twain, closes out her second Vegas residency show there on September 10.
Velvet Rodeo will give fans an up-close opportunity to experience Lambert’s numerous hits and beloved album cuts from her seven No. 1 albums, according to today’s announcement. Her new album, Palomino, is scheduled for release on April 29.
“When you've been touring as long as I have, there's something really creative about imagining a residency in a city like Las Vegas,” Lambert said in a statement. “I've had a lot of fun designing our sets, merchandise and clothing and boot lines … so, this opportunity allows me to lean in a bit more into that side of myself and think about how to really bring country music to life in this room. I think everyone will like what we've dreamed up.”
Here’s Lambert’s complete schedule at Zappos Theater: September 23-24, 28 and 30; October 1, 5 and 7-8; November 26-27 and 30; December 3-4, 8 and 10-11; March 24-25 and 30; and April 1-2, 6 and 8-9.
In celebration of the residency, iHeartMedia will present “iHeartCountry LIVE with Miranda Lambert” from Casa Rosa Nashville, featuring an intimate performance and exclusive interview that will stream on YouTube and radio, on April 6 at 7 p.m.
Lambert, Live Nation Las Vegas and Caesars Entertainment also announced that $1 from every ticket purchased to Velvet Rodeo will be donated to Lambert’s MuttNation Foundation, a nonprofit organization that has raised over $6 million to promote the adoption of rescue pets and support animal shelters across the country.
Live Nation offering $25 tickets for Backstreet Boys, Shania Twain and 3,700 more concerts
By Isabelle Docto | Daily Hive | April 28, 2022
Concert goers rejoice! Live Nation is giving you a chance to get cheap concert tickets to see your fave artists.
From May 4 to 10, the entertainment company is selling tickets for over 3,700 shows for just $25.
Yes, you read that right. You can grab seats to see the Backstreet Boys, Shania Twain, John Legend, Alicia Keys, Wu-Tang Clan, and more at the discounted price.
The ticket offer includes performances in clubs, theatres, amphitheaters, arenas, and stadiums.
It’s all part of Live Nation’s annual Concert Week, emphasis on week. The deal is available for one week only while supplies last, so run, don’t walk to your nearest electronic device.
Ticket sales begin May 4 at 10 am EST/7 am PST and end on May 10. You can grab tickets here and see the full list of concerts here.
Concerts for every performer are stlll a hard sell with COVID, it seems. I was looking to fly down to Vegas to see Shania but am still unsure whether it’s worth it due to the risks…. Man I need a vacation though!!!
Updated sales and attendance figures to date. (Zappos Theater has a normal capacity of 4,600 for concert residency shows. Occasionally they open to full capacity of 7,000.)

No Forever And For Always, no new song, no cover songs, no new outfits. What-a-disappointment! So this means she doesn't sing anything 100% live during this leg. She isn't putting any effort in Vegas anymore.
I don't know why she no longer sings Forever and For Always. It is one of her biggest hits. I also think it's strange that she has only ever performed it on her first leg on Let's Go shows and on no other tour or shows since the Up! tour. There was even a social media post from her during the COVID shutdowns saying it was her favorite song to perform at her residency and she couldn't wait to sing it again when she gets back. And it's not like it really requires much more effort on her part to do it because when she performed in 2019 it was playback.

I'm sure it's because of Melody. The dog is too old and this moment wouldn't be the same without Melody.

It's not the first thing being said and not done. The list is getting longer and longer as years go by.
Her being without a voice is more worrying than the average person because there's no guarantee hers will come back given what she has already been through. I wish her well!
In last night's performance of Man! I Feel Like a Woman, Shania's backing track starting playing before she was on stage. Looks like it was a malfunction with the elevator in the hat.
It also looks like she performed You're Still the One during the From this Moment On set. The intro of the song that she usually sings live was playback probably because she was sick earlier this week. It looks like she performed Come on Over when she usually does.
It looks like Party for Two and From this Moment On have been cut from the setlist which is why Your'e Still the One was moved. This is from SetlistFM for last night's show.

She is still recovering from being sick and doesn't have her "normal" voice. She doesn't use a backing track for those songs as much as the others.

I am all for her lip-syncing/using playback given her voice issues over the years. I just worry how long this sickness will go on because her voice was already unreliable as is. Especially if we do have an upcoming album era.

Shania Twain returns to her smash Las Vegas residency
By Matt Kelemen | Las Vegas Magazine | August 19, 2022
Alexander Harbaugh
If the timing of the final stretch of dates in Shania Twain’s Planet Hollywood residency, Let’s Go! (coming a month after the release of a career-defining documentary, Not Just a Girl, on Netflix), is any indication, the singer may be taking her last lap as a live performer. If so, she’s writing that final chapter in Las Vegas where her career started—sort of.
Most of her fans know she started off as Canadian country music prodigy, singing country songs in bars, and later supported her orphaned siblings by performing in a Vegas-style stage show at an Ontario resort. It was the first time she had performed off-Broadway tunes and then-popular hits such as “Wind Beneath My Wings” while wearing glamorous gowns. “It was pretty scary,” Twain recalls in Not Just a Girl. “I really didn’t know what I was doing at all. I had no idea how to sing and wear high-heeled shoes, for example, at the same time.”
It was good training for a future Vegas headliner. Twain sings in high heels during Let’s Go! as well as some of the iconic outfits worn in videos such as “That Don’t Impress Me Much” and “I’m Gonna Getcha Good.” Her horseback riding skills wound up coming in handy, too.
Twain’s comeback from Lyme disease, with the encouragement of Lionel Richie, is a major narrative arc in the Netflix doc, but her voice sounds fragile in scenes filmed during the pandemic. She had been doing a lot for interviews for director Joss Crowley and the vocal fry is alluring, but there was no sign she lacked the signature energy she delivers during the nearly 20 songs that make up her Zappos Theater setlists.
She found a new sweet spot within her range as demonstrated on her latest single, which shares the title of the documentary. Whether she adds it to the set remains to be seen, but Twain’s skill at performing in heels will be amply demonstrated.

***Since Shania sang "Not Just A Girl" at the Boots and Hearts festival it's pretty much a guarantee she'll be singing it during this final leg in Las Vegas.

The country star, 56, is kicking off her last run of shows at Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood on Friday, and is hoping that fans will appreciate the balance she's struck between nostalgic and energetic fun.
"Let's Go! fans can expect to reminisce," Twain says in a video shared exclusively with PEOPLE. "They're gonna hear the classics, they're gonna sing along, maybe even get a little bit emotional, you know? There's some emotional, touching moments as well. I'm paying close attention to the fans' comments on which ones they want to hear. There's a lot of quiet moments that everybody would always go quiet, and then big, kick-ass moments."
The "You're Still the One" singer says she expects the show to go by "really fast" for audience members, and teases multiple outfit changes, "punchy and dynamic" graphics, and a special black-and-white theme for her hit "Man! I Feel Like a Woman."
"I want them to feel like I want to feel when I leave a great show," Twain says. "I want them to feel satisfied."
The star, whose prolific career was recently highlighted in the Netflix documentary Not Just a Girl, first launched her residency in 2019, and it returned last December after a series of COVID-related delays.
Though Twain's no stranger to Sin City (she started her first residency there in 2012), she admits that the nerves still come — but are usually squashed once she sees her adoring fans.
"It's that grand opening moment when you created this amazing dish waiting for them to take the first bite," she says. "It's a bit nerve-wracking, but I always look forward to the smiles and the energy coming back to me."
Twain will perform at Zappos Theater on Aug. 26, 27 and 31, as well as Sept. 2, 3, 7, 9 and 10. Tickets can be purchased here.
She previously told PEOPLE (The TV Show!) in May 2021 that she was eagerly awaiting her return to the stage, and was also looking forward to catching the shows of other artists in town for residencies of their own.
"Whoever's in town, we go see each other's shows. I've seen more shows in Vegas than anywhere else, because we're all stationary for a little while. We've got a few days here. We might have the same day off or whatever," she said at the time. "I'm always hanging out with the artists backstage and they're coming to my show. We have dinner. Yes, that happens. It's awesome."
The interview definitely sounds like the last couple shows will be a bit different than the previous ones. I wonder what else will be different or if she'll sing other songs that she hasn't sung in a while.
Insofar as she hardly rehearses (she was in Nashville the night before last), I think that Not Just A Girl will be the only novelty, and that's already not bad! She's not going to bother introducing something new right at the end. She must keep something new for a tour in 2023 or 2024.
From another of Shania's dancers on Instagram Stories. Apparently the set for "Not Just A Girl" will be pink/orange (like her outfit at Boots and Hearts).
