I wonder if she will announce new music too... Her tweet in the recording studio posted yesterday said "That's all you need to know for now". So maybe she will say something more in August. I don't think she will perform a new song but maybe a new project will be announced.

I watched some of the performances of the previous weeks. They're all 8-10 minutes long, there's an interview and then a whole song is performed, not just a part of it like artists have recently done. I wonder what Shania will do.

The video of Shania in the recording studio the other day makes me think she is performing a new single on "Good Morning America".

Plus August 14 is a Friday when singles/albums are usually released.

Yes, I would assume she would announce a new single beforehand. 

But here is something that could throw a wrench into the new single thinking. According to Orville Peck's official website store, his new Show Pony EP featuring a duet with Shania ("Legends Never Die") will be released August 14. The store is selling MP3 and vinyl copies of the EP but it will also be available on streaming platforms. So I wonder if Shania will be performing the duet with Orville on "Good Morning America".

Wouldn’t they list Orville Peck as a performer if they were going to sing their duet? They have Shaggy listed as a performer featuring Sting. 🤔

Artists are interviewed LIVE for 3 or 4 minutes via a Zoom-type video chat. The performances are PRE-RECORDED and look/sound very professional almost like a music video. So it'll be interesting to see what Shania does.

Here is a clip from Old Dominion's performance this morning. (The group also released two new songs on streaming platforms.) I also included a song from Katy Perry and the Black Eyed Peas from previous weeks.

Well regardless I hope it's nothing like the Album now, It was an okay album but it failed too produce any hit singles and I found the producers butchered her vocals. I heard her sing a Christmas duet with Nick Jonas and that's the Shania voice I love. Also Shania is an amazing song writer but like Tommy said if you get crappy production then you can't have hits. What are you leaning towards Tommy? New single or just the duet? New member here and have been watching this site for years figured I'd sign up and Express my opinion. Huge Shania fan here :)

Either Shania and Orville Peck are making a music video (most likely) for their duet "Legends Never Die" or they are recording a performance for Shania's appearance on "Good Morning America" on August 14. Orville's new 6-song EP Show Pony will be released the same day. If it is in fact a music video, does this confirm Shania will be debuting a new song of her own on "GMA"? OR could the music video be premiering on "GMA"?

That's the first thing I thought about when they announced her performance. It doesn't make much sense to sing someone else's song, but she's heavily involved (looks like we'll get a music video for the song too). Plus, she's more famous than Orville, so announcing her instead of him could be a promotional trick. I'm burning with curiosity. Let's hope she won't be singing two hits. Enough already.

I am leaning more towards the duet, A new single is possible but why no announcement? Just the date of his album release makes me think duet. Maybe I'm wrong but I'm leaning towards a duet. I mean it's not uncommon for Shania to perform her classics lol

Looks like she’s about to announce something big, based on her Facebook post.

There's been a lot of post in the recording studio these last few months, A new album and single makes sense no? A fashion line? Highly unlikely 

How awesome would it be if Shania had a new duet with Post Malone?! An album is possible, because remember, she originally recorded 21 tracks for NOW, and 5 never made the final cut. She made a statement in an interview while promoting NOW, that she may use the left over tracks for a start on a new album. Right now, her biggest focus should be on new material, in my opinion, because for the length of her career, her discography is relatively small.

Unless Shania announces a new single on Monday or Tuesday that she plans on releasing and performing on "GMA" Friday. One thing we do know is she is definitely performing. My guess is a new single like the other artists have during the Summer Concert Series.

My predictions are: if she plans to release a new single on Friday, it will be announced on Monday or Tuesday. If not, she will perform the duet with Orville and on the same day the music video will be released.
But she could also do as ProudCanadian said: talking about the album, announcing the lead single for October with the album release planned for January. But an album this year is not out of plans yet: IGGG was announced in August, released in September and Up! album in November.
With her, everything's possible.

Duet or not, new song or not, I wanna know something about those diamonds. So she better reveal the secret.

So now that we know Shania will be announcing the re-release of The Woman In Me, what is she going to sing on GMA? Classics from TWIM? Like Gigi said, why would she sing a new song if it's not going to be released Friday?

Yes, you're probably right. And maybe a song from Come On Over. Artists usually sing 2 songs on "GMA". Sometimes they sing a third song that is posted online.

The performances are pre-recorded. Usually on a set. They look very professional. But Shania will be interviewed live virtually/via Zoom.
