To answer ProudCanadian,

I think Shania is relaxing in the Bahamas. I'm sure the album is ready and a date set. I don't think she's in a rush. I'm waiting for any clues at the end of January if a single were to be released for February (the 4th?) but I don't really believe it. I will be seeing more new music for June. Finally I think it will come out before the end of the year when she will release the clips in HD and diamond edition of COO.

A performance at the Grammys? Too early to tell but maybe she's planning it.

Maybe she's doing a music video too. Or she does photo shoots, because she always uses the same ones for a while...

Shania has been hanging out in The Bahamas the past few weeks. Her friend Mirko Manfredi has been posting on IG Stories in The Bahamas (Fred was tagged in one). He usually follows Shania and Fred around. He was also in Vegas with them.

As far as The Grammys, I doubt it. They have been postponed on January 31 and are tentatively rescheduled for April 3rd or 10th in Las Vegas. The CMA Awards are March 7th and also in Las Vegas. If Shania releases the lead single from her new album before then (possibly for her February Vegas shows), I could see her performing it at the CMAs. But the awards show won't even be broadcast on TV. It will be streamed exclusively on Prime Video in the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the UK. Weird!

Well it's early January, So if she wants to throw a few more songs on the album go ahead Shania :) The more music the better. Just curious is she recording in the Bahamas?

No album is finished even when the first single is been announced. When I'm Gonna Getcha was released back in September 2002 Shania said they were still working on the album in studio, so I guess it's pretty normal.
My first reaction has been the same though, she had plenty of time to finish this one but we don't really know what she's doing... maybe just dotting the Is and crossing the Ts.
Plus, "This year" could very well be November.

I want a new album as much as the next Shania Fan. But, a Christmas album this year would be great too! We've been waiting for what, 20 years for it? The duet with Michael Buble' of White Christmas using the style Elvis did it, is just awesome. I know she would do great work with a Christmas album of her own.

Shania is in the Bahamas for sure. Mirko has just posted a video where we recognize Shania's terrace, green woodwork and sofa. I'd be surprised if there's a studio there and with all those people we see on her last video... It is rather older in my opinion.

Lindsay Ell (who will be opening for Shania at Boots and Hearts music festival in Ontario, Canada on August 7) talks about "touring" with her at the 1:30-2:00 minute mark. Or maybe she misspoke and said "touring" instead of "opening". But it sounds like Shania might have some kind of mini tour this Summer. That's why I think her new album will be released in late Spring.

If all these others artists, writers, producers, etc. keep spilling information regarding what Shania is doing, then why is Shania and her team so secretive about what her plans are?

how will she have time to tour in the summer if she is in vegas june august september she would have july only off and i dont see her going back and fourth from a tour and vegas

June 2022: 3, 4, 8, 10, 11, 15, 17, 18
August 2022: 26, 27, 31

If she does have a mini tour this Summer, she would have over 2 months between her June and August shows in Vegas.

From July 1 to 16, 2022, there is the Montreux Jazz Festival. So I think right after her Vegas concerts in June, she will go to Switzerland. She's still not going to miss the festival!? biggrin

Well, Shania returns to Vegas next Friday (Feb. 11) for her next set of shows. I thought there might be a chance Shania would release the lead single beforehand and then perform it during the shows (early last year she said there would be new music for the February shows). Anyway, it's safe to say that's probably not going to happen.

Yes I have the impression that she keeps the first single for June and a second for the end of August/September.
Maybe she'll settle for an unreleased cover on the theme of love for February in Vegas or one of her already known songs about love.

I think there's still the chance Shania might release the lead single.

I notice she's not promoting her Vegas shows on social media. And it's strange in my opinion. Maybe she has something else in store for the next couple of weeks.

Singles can be released any day, not only on Fridays, so I guess there are still 10 days to release something. We'll see...

Apparently this guy posts a lot of reliable information and leaks about artists. I've always thought new album will be released in the Spring so the lead single should be out by the end of March.

On a sidenote, the ACM Awards are March 7 in Las Vegas (airing on Amazon Prime Video). Dolly Parton is hosting. Her co-hosts will be announced in the coming weeks. Could Shania be one? It would also be a great time for her to perform and promote the new single.

How about the release of Come On Over: Diamond Edition? She can't release that and the new album around the same time. It makes more sense to release Come On Over: Diamond Edition in the Fall since it will be close to its 25th anniversary (November 4). Which is also an album release-day Friday this year.

Tommy as long as Shania releases the diamond album release this year. The problem is it takes her forever to release one album, two albums seem unlikely. Maybe your right and the new album comes out this spring and the diamond edition this fall. Hopefully your predictions are correct.

I think Shania doesn't like multi-tasking. COO Diamond ed. and the new album can't be released at the same time!? Even though TWIM was released in October (while the 25th birthday was in February), I think COO Diamond ed. will be released at the end of the year. The new album will necessarily be released this year since she announced it. Seen as it started, not before the end of May, but possible in summer or September-October too.

Shania is listed as a guest on Canada's "Cityline" on February 25 at 10 am ET. The episode listing says: "Singer-songwriter Shania Twain."

Her most recent appearances on "Cityline" were via press junket in 2019 and in-studio in 2015 so I highly doubt it's a re-broadcast.

If it's new album related, New York press will probably be announced soon.

Interesting! If it is in fact a new appearance/interview, she must be doing it from Las Vegas. She has a show that night.

The ACM Awards replied to Shania. Does this mean she'll be performing on March 7? If she doesn't perform the lead single, I really don't see the point. Plus the awards show isn't even on TV. People have to pay to stream it on Amazon Prime Video. So if she does perform the lead single it won't be the best promotion. That means the single would probably be released March 2, 3 or 4.

The second group of ACM Awards performers including Carrie Underwood and Kelsea Ballerini were announced today. There are no other announcements coming. So Shania won't be performing a lead single like we thought might be a possibility. The ACM Awards air on Amazon Prime Video, March 7 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

Isn't there a last week surprise possibility? At least she will attend since there are her friends (Dolly, Kelsea, Kane, etc) and she is there in Las Vegas. If she doesn't present new music there, it's because she has bigger (global) ambitions and isn't limited to country music. So it's quite positive.

Tommy, this really isn’t surprising though. It’s been decades since she last performed on any country awards show, especially promoting new music. I want to say the last time she performed for any Country awards was 2004 when singing “Party for Two” with Billy Currington.

So now that Shania is finished with her "Let's Go!" residency until June 10, what are your predictions for new music? Approximate lead single release? Approximate album release?

Personally, I'd like to see a new single between mid-March (with promo around IWD) and early April, maybe the album at the end of May (20th or 27th) if she hurries.

Knowing Shania's slowness, I would say single in April just before the famous "Superfan" show and the album at the beginning of July (1st or 8th).

At the latest the album in October and several singles released before.

Despite the rumors saying that she will release the album this Spring, I think she will probably release the lead single at the Boots and Hearts festival in August and then the album afterwards perhaps in the Fall.

I don't wanna make predictions, I just hope she has plans to do something during these 3 months. They're not to be wasted. Mr. News wrote "New Shania Twain album in Spring". Let's hope he's right.

It is confirmed that Shania will not be going to the ACM awards now.

Maybe a new single before the Grammys (April 4) or during the "Superfan" competition... I think Shania is planning something around International Women's Day... Last year her Tiktok videos around this time were very successful.
