Not that strange. It’s been very rare for Shania to attend any award show for over a decade. She doesn’t really have a reason to be at the ACM’s this year. It’s not like she has any nominations, and kids these days don’t even know who she is so it’s not like her name would attract more viewers. I highly doubt she’s still in Vegas. She probably went back on her permanent vacation shortly after finishing her February run of shows. As much as I love Shania, she is past her prime and doesn’t try hard enough to keep herself relevant.

Shania and Fred are STILL in Las Vegas. He is at a UFC event tonight at T-Mobile Arena. I still have no idea why Shania isn't attending the ACM Awards on Monday night just to hang out with everyone. Hell, she attends every other event in Las Vegas.

I think she'll go but not officially, she'll probably be in the audience or backstage.

Can't she appear out of no where and present an award? Red Carpet perhaps to make an album/single announcement? Makes me think the album isn't coming out until late Summer or Fall? If it were the Spring she'd at least give some hint lol

Word is Shania and Fred are in fact going to the ACM Awards tonight but they won't be walking the Red Carpet, etc. The ACMs aren't even aware they are attending. I guess she doesn't want to be interviewed or asked about new music, etc.

Shania released an EP on Apple Music yesterday titled I AM WOMAN. Here’s the track list:

I don’t understand the point of these EPs that artists have been doing lately.

What's the hold up on Album and Single announcement? I'm just not sure why we have not heard anything. Photo shoot and Music Video could easily be done now especially if the album is finished. Not sure on a Spring release. Maybe the Grammys next month? I won't hold my breath.

Certainly ! Even when she wrote "back at it", it had to be over. In any case, it is no longer her responsibility... Maybe technical things. Since Boots & Hearts was announced I'm sure the timeline for the album is set.

Do y'all think it's going to be more of a country-pop sounding album like Come on Over or Up! or do y'all think it will be similar to Now with heavily autotuned and robotic vocals and EDM instrumentation? I certainly would prefer it to be more like Come on Over and Up! than Now.

It's strange Shania is still in Las Vegas. She usually leaves after her set of shows. I wonder if she is just going to stay there now until new music is released and she starts media promos?

I think the album will have similar sounding to that of Up!, I believe more upbeat and catchy. As for her still in Vegas, I was wondering the same thing? If she goes back to Switzerland then the album won't be out until the Fall.

I just realized the Grammy's in early April would be in Las Vegas. I think if Shania is still in Vegas, it's obviously to be there. Plus, it airs on CBS as Shania's fan show.

If she had a Catchy single it would be perfect to perform live at the Grammys, Even to appear and present and make an album/single announcement. Honestly it would be the best way to promote a single? Any thoughts Tommy on what you think Shania is planning? Grammys???? Who knows

Shania did not officially attend or perform at the ACM Awards so I guarantee she won't present/perform a new single at the Grammys. She'd be a fish out of water. Plus the Grammys are April 3. The lead single won't be released in the next 2 weeks. Maybe mid-late April or early May.

On a sidenote, the CMT Music Awards are April 11 in Nashville. The show has moved from CMT and will now air on CBS.

Shania Twain may have collaborated or is collaborating with Cole Walliser, as she just started following him on Instagram. It could very well be that he is the director of a new music video. Cole Walliser is a Canadian filmmaker and music video producer. He has directed videos for Miley Cyrus, P!Nk and Katy Perry.

Shania had spoken of a probable collaboration with Harry Styles on numerous occasions. She also said she wrote a song for Lizzo and Janelle Monae. But Lizzo is (really, unlike Shania since January 2021) in new music mode (new song on April 14) and Harry Styles too (album on May 20).

Harry Styles' album is called "Harry's house". What could be in him? Shania records of course! So maybe she'll appear on the album. We will see. The snippet of "About Damn Time" released by Lizzo sounds totally compatible with the music that Shania can enjoy.

They would be more likely to be on her album. Finally, if they release music now, Shania will no doubt do the same. Harry Styles announces the album without having a single for the moment: could Shania Twain outright announce the album also for the end of May soon?

How many producers is Shania working with on her new album??? This is number 6 or 7.

I think she's working with way too many producers. I was okay with 3 maybe 4 but I am inclined to agree with Tommy that this album might not make it to country radio. She's also taking forever too release a single and we are passing every awards show possible to even make a hit single/album promotion. She's approaching 60 and as far as I'm concerned this album will do no better then Now. It might be a better album I just don't see any hits. Maybe I'll be proven wrong who knows. A POP album isn't a good idea because this isn't 1997/2002 when we had Mutt Lange as the producer. She might of had pop sounding back then but she also had a bit of country sound too. With no major promotion likely this album will have the same fate as Now. She hasn't had a hit in almost 16 years and I don't expect one. I might be wrong, we shall see.

I agree. A concern I have is that with so many producers, her voice is going to sound different on each track which was also a problem with Now. I really don't understand what she is trying to achieve with this album. She is the queen of country pop. Singing country pop is a tried and tested approach for her and it gave her great success. I hope this album does not have heavy EDM and R&B influences but based on her choice of producers it probably will.

Known snippets don't sound EDM or R&B, but there can be a lot of diversity on the album. I trust her, she will probably co-produce all the songs so she will bring the country touch herself.

I get the vibe that Shania doesn’t care about charting anymore. For most of her career she worked with only one producer. She’s experimenting and having fun now working with new people. Living her best life 👍💝

I agree with Courtney3302. I don't know why everyone's so prejudiced about the producers she's working with or she has worked with for this album.
Mutt Lange wasn't and isn't a country producer, he has produced hard rock/rock/pop/country and so on and no one ever doubted about his production for Shania's albums.

So, if a producer is mainly focused on R&B or EDM or rap, it doesn't mean he can produce just that kind of music. Plus, I'm sure Shania has put her touch on every song of the album, so I wouldn't worry about the final result.

I'm more worried about how her voice will sound. The live songs on the Vegas residency aren't good at all.

I guess it's because it sounds like Shania is going down the same road producer-wise as "Now". She had several producers, the album wasn't produced well at all, and her voice sounded auto-tuned. Overall the album was a flop sales-wise.

Yes, I agree about her voice on Now. It's my main concern about the new album.

Sales-wise, probably she would flop even if the album was produced by Mutt. She's no young anymore, she's a woman, she has been away for 15 years musically speaking and country radio wouldn't support her anyway. No radio would support her nowadays.
So I guess she's doing music for herself now, she wants to experiment new things and to work with as many people as possible. Her charting-years are over, she doesn't need to consolidate her name in the Industry anymore, so she can feel free to do what she wants.
Of course, not everyone will like her new music, her new style and not everyone likes her new voice. I'm not crazy about some of the choices she has made from 2015 on but I'm super curious about the era that is about to begin.

Fred's most recent Instagram Story is of the outside of a state-of-the-art recording studio in Nassau, Bahamas (The Sanctuary). So Shania is probably still working on the album.

Carrie Underwood just announced the release of her new album "Denim & Rhinestones" (June 10). Makes you wonder how far away Shania's album is. It looks like a Spring release is not going to happen. Hopefully the lead single will be released in the next couple months and then the album maybe in late September after Shania's "Let's Go!" residency is finished on September 10.

Oh yes I also believe that it is missed for the spring. She exaggerates all the same, she could at least say where she is. Why not summer for the album? And this fan show, she's not just going to promote a single, it's weird. If this continues the album will be released on December 30! She can do a double album for the wait!

Shania is officially finished recording her new album! She just changed the heading on her Instagram page from "In new music mode" to "Finished in the studio". Great news!!! Hopefully the lead single will be released in the next couple months and then the album maybe in August or late September after Shania's "Let's Go!" residency is finished on September 10.

An inside source says the lead single from Shania's new album will be released in June!!! The most logical date would be June 3 since Shania's residency resumes on June 10.

i do not hope she is going to repeat the strategy of "Now" - released the first single 3 months ahead of the album release date. It is not a wise decision in this era.

Post Malone announced his new album will be released June 3 (possibly the same day as Shania's lead single). In any event, all of the artists Shania said she would like to collaborate with are releasing albums in the next few months.

I think that in May Shania will:
- prepare an adaptation for her new single in Vegas (sets, etc.),
- do a photo shoot to promote new musical releases,
- shoot the music video for the future new single.

I think she will start announcing it around the middle of May.

I don’t believe anything that others supposedly say about new music anymore. All of that is just hearsay. Until Shania’s team says something, I’m not going to get my hopes up.

My guess is that the lead single is released right before her June Vegas shows or at the Boots and Hearts festival.

Given that Shania releasing new music is constantly delayed, I would also not be surprised if she waits til the Fall but then she would be releasing the new album and the rumored Come on Over: Diamond Edition at the same time.

I really hope that she doesn't replace FAFA at her Vegas shows with the lead single, it would make more sense to me open with the new single instead of Rock This Country.

I also don't think that her Christmas album that she has mentioned before will ever see the light of day given the current state of her voice as well as I don't think there is much demand for it outside of her diehard fans.

Do I think she may release a Christmas single or two in the coming years? Maybe, but not a full album.

If she was going to do one, Shania should have released a Christmas album in the 2005 to 2007 time range to follow up on the success of Greatest Hits. I understand why she didn't because she had a lot going on with both her health and personal life.

These past two years would have been a good opportunity as well since her residency was on hold for almost two years.

It could be June 10 too, the promotion is before rather. In any case, if it's June 3 or June 10: we can tick the boxes on the calendar, we're getting closer!
