An inside source says the lead single from Shania's new album will be released in June!!! The most logical date would be June 3 since Shania's residency resumes on June 10.
It could be June 10 too, the promotion is before rather. In any case, if it's June 3 or June 10: we can tick the boxes on the calendar, we're getting closer!
I don't know if the lead single will be released before Vegas. Or in June at all. There's still too much silence, we still don't know anything at all and we're only one month away. I don't know what they're playing at but I don't keep my hopes up.
We might have an idea when the lead single will be released soon. The lineup for the "TODAY" show's Citi Concert Series will be announced in the coming weeks. We'll see if and when Shania is scheduled. The only Friday that would work for her in June would be the 3rd (she resumes her residency on June 10). Back in 2017, Shania performed on Friday, June 16, the day "Life's About To Get Good" was released. Harry Styles kicks off the concert series on May 19 (his new album Harry's House will be released the next day). The past few years "TODAY" announced the full lineup on a Friday (May).

Pending??? What the hell does that mean? She said she finished recording the album. So why is it "pending"? Pending means unsettled or not yet decided.
I hope so. But I'm not really counting on anything in June any more. I guess we'll wait and see what happens in the next couple weeks. They'll probably announce the TODAY show concert series lineup next Thursday or Friday.

Pending albums according to Google:
This typically means additional processing time is required. It can take several days for albums to be reviewed, approved, and sent to streaming services.
Hey everyone, I'm brand new here although I've been a longtime lurker for updates and news. I just wanted to maybe ease some of the doom and gloom feeling going on here. Whether she was finished the album in 2021 or just now, it makes the most sense to release it this year with the 25th anniversary of Come on Over. She should get press and recognition from it that will surely help increase the new album's chances for success. All that really matters is that she's happy with the final product and feels excited to share it - I wouldn't want her to release anything under different conditions. I hope she's making and (most importantly) releasing music for as long as she is able and I think a lot of fans could be a little more patient and grateful. Artists aren't machines, right? The art wouldn't be very good if they were.

I have to agree with you. I too have been a long time lurker on this site, and I've actually visited this site on and off throughout the last 15 years or so, and even I have faith and positivity that Shania will in fact release her new album this year, as it logically makes the most sense to release it this year, since we know Shania has continuously been writing and working on new music for the last year or so, at least since January 2021, but I believe even before that, throughout 2019 and 2020 as well, even though there is a chance Shania probably has changed the direction of her next album from 2019 to now during the writing and recording process, but Shania did mention in an interview last year she was originally hoping to have her new album come out before Christmas of 2021, which we know did not happen, but it is now May 2022, and in April 2022, Shania did update her bio on instagram to say she was finished in the studio, so with that in mind, her pending comment doesn't really bother me, it kinda makes sense, since if Shania has finished recording her new album, I assume it's in the mastering/editing/finalizing stage right now, and even though we still don't have a release date for the first single, She could literally be planning an announcement any day now, or even for June right before or around the return of her las vegas residency, and with the 25th Anniversary of Come On Over this year as well, It makes the most sense to release her new album this year, at least just in time for the holidays. :)

Harry kicked off the Summer concert series this morning on the "TODAY" show but they still didn't announce the full concert line-up. Would've been the perfect opportunity. Maybe tomorrow??? I don't know. I guess by the end of the month for sure. Harry talked about singing with Shania at Coachella. They showed a clip.

I don't know if the first single will be "officially" released in June, but hopefully she'll be performing it in Vegas. I remain convinced that we will discover a new single soon.
Fred's most recent Instagram Story is of the outside of a state-of-the-art recording studio in Nassau, Bahamas (The Sanctuary). So Shania is probably still working on the album.
This afternoon Fred posted a picture outside The Sanctuary at Albany recording studio. But it can't be from today since the picture was taken at night.

They just announced the "TODAY" show's full line-up for the Summer concert series. Shania isn't performing. Lizzo is...
Putting the pieces together from a couples sources, it's looking like Shania will sing the lead single next month (June) in Las Vegas and then officially release it at a later date. It will be like "Life's About To Get Good" back in 2017 when she sang it at Stagecoach at the end of April but didn't release it until June 16.
Unless she releases the lead single on June 3 (week before Vegas) or June 10 when she resumes her show.

I don't like that approach how Now was promoted, Unfortunately if she does the vegas release for single then releases it a month or two later it will flop. There doesn't seem like much of a promotion will happen. The Today show/Good Morning America would have been decent promotions. At this rate the album will probably flop. I dunno Tommy am I being wrong here too be so critical? How can it be promoted good. What Is Shania or her record label thinking?

I, and most fans, agree the promotion of NOW was awful! I think it only had two official singles ("LATGG" and "Swingin'"). "Swingin" didn't even chart. It looks like this album is going down the same road. Apparently Shania doesn't care about sales or hit singles anymore. I just hope this album is better than NOW.

They probably bundle the new album and new tour together again. That’s the only way to make sure the sales of new album. Sadly, the Vegas residency does not come to an end until Sept. They may feel weird to open the sale of tour tickets before ending the residency.

Assuming there is a tour for the new album (which we don't know), I don't think the album will be released until her residency is over in September. So if they put album pre-sales and tour tickets on sale in August that's close enough to the end of her residency on September 10 that it wouldn't affect residency sales. Most people will already have their tickets.
I know some artists do it but the album/tour bundle is a bullsh*t marketing strategy to try and drive up album sales. All they are doing is giving away albums. It's ridiculous.

I'm not sure who "framboise1962tw" is but it goes along with the June release from an inside source a couple months ago. Plus Shania resumes her Vegas show next Friday, June 10.
It confuses me why this album has been taking so long to make. I understand the pandemic made it more difficult however so many artists have made full albums during the last two years and released them no problem. I cannot believe 'Now' was already five years ago and I seriously hope the follow-up to her next album isn't about 5+ years from whenever it's released.
Now that it's safe to say the lead single won't be released this Friday (June 3), all signs point to it being released next Friday, June 10. Here is the question: Will the lead single officially be released to streaming platforms OR will the lead single be unofficially released with Shania only performing it during her Vegas residency show?
However, if the lead single is officially released on the 10th I think it might be overshadowed by the release of Carrie Underwood's new album.
If NOTHING happens on the 10th who knows when we'll get new music...

There are no signs the lead single is gonna be released June 10. I don't even know if it will be performed in Vegas. And I do hope it won't, I hate when songs are first performed live and the n officially released.
Mutt and Shania share the same studio in Switzerland, it's inside Shania's property there.
When Shania returns to Vegas next Friday, what is she going to sing instead of Christmas or Valentine's Day (Coldplay and Elvis) covers? That's why there is a possibility she will sing a NEW song. However, when artists debut new songs in Vegas, the songs have usually been released 1 or 2 weeks before the artist returned to Vegas. (i.e. Katy Perry, Carrie Underwood)
I guess we'll see what happens...

It's Wednesday. Obviously a lead single official release isn't happening on Friday... So now we wait and see if Shania sings it Friday night in Las Vegas. It's never a smart move to sing a new song live before its official release. Everyone can hear it on YouTube, Twitter, etc then when it is finally released, nobody cares and the song flops.
If Shania doesn't sing a new song this month in Vegas then we look ahead to Boots & Hearts festival (Ontario, Canada) and Vegas in August and September. There are no other options in between.

Really disappointed that she didn't sing a new song in Vegas. I can hardly imagine that she adds it to the other shows of the month. In July, she will probably be at the Montreux Jazz Festival. Boots & Hearts in August will be the only occasion for her to release the new song.
I've got the feeling she's gonna release the COO Diamond Edition first and then the new album.
That documentary on Netflix will be 100% focused on the COO songs, and I'm sure it will be the first step of the Diamond Edition promo.
So, no new song 'til September/October.
Well considering we don't know what the title of the documentary means, could it be a new song title? Probably grasping at straws but I'll take anything these days lol.
Beyoncé just announced her next album coming out on July 29th, a good month and half notice. I just wonder why Shania and her team is so secretive. Are they afraid it may flop again?
There’s no one way to release an album. Some artists like giving advanced notice, some like creating a surprise release. With her schedule getting busier in the summer and the rumoured release date of the documentary, it seems likely that the album isn’t far off at all. It would be smart to share the press and momentum from her ACM Honors appearance, the documentary, the Come on Over anniversary and the new album all together.
I’m not sure why fans are so negative around here… there's no way in hell she’ll have impressive album sales again but that’s not even important. She's been there and done that with the sales records. The younger generation of artists own streaming now. None of that matters because she has the status and the fan base that will always make her relevant. What matters the most is whether the album is good or not. “Now” was a good album, and a great one if you consider her 15 year hiatus, her split from her longtime producer, and the fact that she had to find her voice and then figure out how to use it. I'm positive the next album is going to be even better.
Beyoncé fans have waited 6 years for this next album Adele fans waited 10 years for “30”
Both of those artists have blank cheques from their labels and neither of them have to sing with literal crutches in their throats. I think we can be just as patient with Shania. I’m just happy she’s as passionate and dedicated as she is to still be making music for us.
I will say that Adele's '25' came out in 2015 so the 10 years is a bit off lol but I agree overall. Based on the comments I have read here, a lot of people were not fans of 'Now' however I personally liked it. The only thing I don't understand and I think I mentioned it here before is why is the album taking so long to make. I don't know how long she actively worked on 'Now' before it was released however I know she's been working on this album for years now. The pandemic messed up the plans obviously but there are plenty of artists who released since then who didn't start on their projects until during or after the pandemic. I don't know if recording takes longer because of Shania's voice nowadays or what but it just confuses me why it's taking so long. If she's only going to release one album every 5 years, I don't know how many more albums we'll get out of her and that kind of makes me sad. I seriously hope this new album comes out within the next few months.
With the documentary being released on July 26 and the Boots and Hearts festival on August 7, I really think a lead single may be released during that window. Lead single late July/early August and then album in September or October?

That sounds very realistic. We'll see. If not late July/early August for the lead single, I think definitely by the end of August. And then the album late September - mid October.
I just don't know when Shania plans on releasing Come On Over: Diamond Edition. Its 25th anniversary is November 4 (which happens to be a Friday this year).

It looks like we won't have a new single until at least the Fall. If even then. I think something is going on with the album. It might not be satisfactory to Shania or her label.
Also, it's been a while since she talked about new music or the studio (where she ended up). Although the album isn't ready or satisfying yet, what's stopping her from releasing a song?! Well, there are at least a few safe songs that can be on the album... I will be surprised if the album comes out at the end of September, I'm thinking more between October and December.
I don't think she wants to release just a song that doesn't lead to a full and bigger project. When a song will be released, it will definitely be the lead single off the new album.
I'm not expecting anything anymore this year, I won't be surprised if we get only the Come On Over: Diamond Edition. I can't wait to see what the after-Vegas plans are but I'm ready to bet they will start to promote COO.
She originally hoped to have the album out last year so I do not understand what the holdup anymore is. I would get not being finished last year and having to push it back a few months but pushing it back a year or longer just doesn't make sense. Her Instagram even said "finished in the studio" so again, not sure of the holdup.
im thinking she wants to finish her vegas show then start promoting her album
But many artists release new singles during their Vegas residencies. It's a way to promote the single and/or upcoming album. She was finished in the studio a few months ago and still not even a word about the release of the lead single. There's no reason why she can't release the lead single before her final set of shows in Vegas starting August 26. Unless like I said something is going on with the album.
