Tommy why do you think not just a girl wasn't sent to country/adult contemporary radio? It honestly is a song I listen to daily. It had hit potential even if cracked the top 20. I'm not sure why her record label didn't send it to radio. Also on the topic from the songs I have heard over the last year clips of the new album it sounds like this could be a much better album then Now and I wrong? She's also writing with other song writers which is extremely important. I think the next album with a global tour could be huge for Shania. The problem is will country or any radio station give Shania Twain the plays. We know fans weren't as big on Now but her concerts still sell out. Her older music will always live on and that alone will get people to see her. She is a legend. She already answered a fans question a few weeks ago she will tour again. I know she's 57 but the new stuff I've heard really got hit potential. I just find radio won't play her music. I know 100% Her next album will be huge in Canada and she will get radio play. Just the United States radio still seems to think of her as an outsider. I am not sure she will ever get the respect she deserves. I know her and Mutt made great music but she worked her butt off touring and she co wrote the music.. look at the charts it's basically male dominated and it absolutely bugs me. I know I'm new but will her next album and music be sent to radio? Does she even need radio. Itunes, Amazon and spotify are perhaps the best way for her too go and not to mention YouTube. The woman spent a decade away and can still sell out two vegas shows, Two tours and that was with a floppy album. She's doing a show now which is good, She's done the Netflix bio and she have a competition show that should be out at some point for her biggest fan to win something. Plus an acting gig on a TV series. Perhaps this is her way of getting her name out there again? I'm also expecting this to be her last album and final tour. Regardless She's done it all. I'm hoping radio gives her airplay on the next album. To me this Next album sounds like it will be good and hopefully radio gets on board. As for a winter release for the new Album we shall see. I as a fan know the next album will be good. It even sounds good. Maybe it's her age? Who knows. I really think she deserves all the support she can get. I called several radio stations across Canada and was told the single wasn't sent to them because they would have played it. One radio host said he loved the song but the record label didn't release it to radio. Regardless I am wondering on any input from Shania fans like myself? She has made a good album and I've heard the clips. Especially the tiktok one she posted a long time ago.
Not afraid to tell you I still play CDs in my car and I love unwrapping a new CD and putting it in my car radio before a road trip, so I’m genuinely excited that Not Just A Girl - The Highlights album is now available on CD, so that all the people who feel the same way can enjoy it on their journey!
With the song and the name of this collection, ‘Not Just A Girl’, I wanted to get pretty sassy with my attitude and say I’m not just a girl, I’m not JUST anything! Even the word “just” was relevant here. There is so much discussion about the connection between women and the word “just” - trying not to come across as too tough or be so direct with communicating our demands… F*ck “just”!! 😂 Anyway, my favourite lyric is “I'm not just a four-letter word.” And don’t you forget it 😘https://shania.lnk.to/TheHighlights
Review of "Not Just A Girl - doc" (in French): Review of "Not Just A Girl - doc": "I found it nice. For once I learned things, they played her clips and her songs. We feel that it's well built, that there has money in the making of this documentary. She, she is also interviewed, she speaks on purpose for this documentary. It's not images of interviews from 10 years ago. So really not bad!
Critique sur "Not Just A Girl - doc" : "J'ai trouvé ça sympa. Pour le coup j'ai appris des choses, ils passaient ses clips et ses chansons. On sent que c'est bien construit, qu'il y a de l'argent dans la réalisation de ce documentaire. Elle, elle est interviewée aussi, elle parle exprès pour ce documentaire. C'est pas des images d'interviews d'il y a 10 ans. Donc vraiment pas mal!
Is it just me or does anyone else agree that these pictures look nothing like Shania? I don’t know what’s going on. I really wish she would stop with fillers and botox - it’s not her.
I actually completely disagree. I think this is one of the most beautiful shoots she has done in years. She lost a lot of weight lately which makes her look more like she did before. The botox and fillers are also way more subtle than during the Now era I feel.
Her looks have changed a lot in the past 10 or so years but I think she looks good regardless. She'll be sixty in a few years but she looks younger than that.
***The album will debut on the Official Albums Chart Top 100 this week (Friday). Right now the album is at No. 36 based on sales of CDs, downloads, vinyl and other formats across Friday - Sunday.
"And finally, Shania Twain’s Not Just A Girl – The Highlights, companion album to her Netflix documentary of the same name, looks set to become the country music icon’s sixth UK Top 40 record overall (36)."
I'm shocked why not just a girl wasn't sent to radio? It was actually written good. Even produced good. Better then life's about to get good. What's the issue?
I think it will be a title of the new album but not a main single, what remains to be discovered is surely even better and more powerful.
Since we already have Not Just A Girl: The Highlights as a companion album for the documentary, the new studio album won't have the title Not Just A Girl also. We don't even know if the song will be on the new album.

Wouldn’t surprise me if the album will be called ‘queen of me’. Don’t believe in the coincidence that they previewed that song in the documentary. Although if the rumours of a UK tour in 2023 are true, I think her management then has to reconsider announcing a ‘queen of me tour’ any time soon😬

That does make me question if they'll scrap the song "Queen of Me" altogether considering current circumstances. I would hope not but I wouldn't be surprised.

This has been a false step by universal music , there was no need of this soundtrack, other artist with docs on Netflix just release the new single but with just one new song and having the gh album under 9 dollars people it’s not stupid and got the cheaper one , and has not enough things for fans , one song ( maybe included on the next album ) and 3 new pics ? , not enough on streaming days in my opinion

I've always wonder how many does she sell when we see albums especially the Greatest Hits in Canada always in the Top 100 charts. Like 10 CDs? 100? 1000? lol
