2023 "Queen Of Me" tour

I really want Forever and for Always but I'm not expecting her to do it. I loved that she brought it back for Let's Go but she cut it from the setlist for the 2021 and 2022 shows even after she said it was her favorite song to perform at the residency and couldn't wait to sing it again once the show was back up.

I'm sure she wrote the song about Mutt which is why she doesn't perform it often even though its one of her best selling songs. I've heard rumors that she hates singing You're Still the One for this same reason.

FAFA is not an easy song to perform. I really doubt she would be able to do it live now with her current voice.

2023 "Queen Of Me" tour

On the podcast, Shania says the concert will be about 2 hours. There will be 7 songs from Queen Of Me and a medley of songs that she hasn't performed before. Probably similar to the shortened songs from Up! she sang at the Tortuga Music Festival.

Shania Twain Talks Prepping for Her ‘Unique & Original’ 2023 Tour: Behind the Setlist Podcast

Twain promises a "never seen before" trek, which kicks off this week in Washington.

By Glenn Peoples | Billboard | April 24, 2023

Shania Twain is sweating the small stuff as she prepares for her first tour since 2018.

“My days are very long,” the country legend tells Billboard’s Behind the Setlist podcast while rehearsing in Las Vegas. Twain is involved in the stage design, lighting, graphics and wardrobe, among other aspects of the production. “Everything will be unique and original,” she says. “Never seen before.”

Above all, Twain is focused on getting the music just right. Twain says she spent a week in London with her musical director and wrote new backing vocal parts. “It’s going to take a lot of energy to get through the show. This show is probably going to run about two hours. And lots of singing — everyone has to sing. There’s so many vocals on the new stuff.”

To perform the pop- and dance-infused songs from Queen of Me, Twain’s band has daily vocal rehearsals. “There’s a lot of vocals on all the stuff. I feel like with some of the more country-sounding stuff, you can get away with just a three-part harmony. You don’t have to have all the layers. But with the new stuff, on my gosh, we need more. There’s more counterparting and things like that.”

Twain’s 2023 tour begins in Spokane, Wash., on April 28 and crisscrosses North America through July 24 — including 10 dates in Twain’s home country of Canada — before heading to the U.K. and Ireland from Sept. 14 to 28. The tour resumes in North America on Oct. 12 in San Antonio, Texas, and crosses into Canada twice before resuming in Vancouver, B.C., on Nov. 14.

“There are no dancers in the show,” she continues. “I don’t want anyone’s intonation interrupted on what it’s all focused on: intonation, phrasing, vocal blending and tightness. I want that really, really as perfect as possible.”

Twain estimates the show will feature around seven songs from Queen of Me, which debuted at No. 10 on the Billboard 200 albums chart back in February. The setlist will reach back to 1995’s The Woman In Me and is heavy on 1997’s Come On Over and 2002’s Up!. The older material requires more preparation “because that’s my old voice,” she says in reference to contracting Lyme disease in 2004, re-learning how to sing with physical therapy and undergoing open-throat surgery in 2017. “I anchored those [older songs] into the playlist according to where my voice will sit at that point in the show. Then I start plugging in the other songs and placed them depending on the ebb and flow of the graphics, the mood, the scene that I want to set, the journey I want to take the public on.”

The show will also include a medley that gives Twain an opportunity to squeeze in snippets of songs she might not otherwise perform. “It gives me a chance to touch base on songs that I may not have ever done live or I haven’t visited in a long time. So I just put together songs I felt flowed best together and that I really have missed and that a lot of my fans have told me they’ve missed.”

Must be a mistake. Plus he says there are only 49 cities/55 concerts and the tour wraps up the end of September.

Shania Twain talks storytelling on new live tour

By Lynn Martinez | WSVN - 7News - Miami | April 26, 2023

Shania Twain is hitting the road. The country goddess is launching her “Queen of Me” world tour this weekend. She dropped the deets on what her fans around the globe can expect.

No, it’s not a dream.

Shania Twain is bringing her talents to cities around the world on her “Queen of Me” tour.

Get ready to get rocked.

Shania Twain: “The show is a song. It has a beginning, an end and then everything in between is a journey. My role is to take everybody on an in-journey in that time, the time period of the show.”

Shania’s plan is simple: Leave your worries at the door, and come in and party the night away.

Shania Twain: “As far as the shows go, I want people to leave inspired and relating to the same objective that I had in writing the songs, which was to lift up my spirits and just really enjoy the escapism.”

She knows that entertaining the crowd each night and making them feel good is job number one.

Shania Twain: “There’s nothing that I could ever say that I would think would change somebody’s life. I’m not Einstein. What I offer is what I do and mind what my intentions are. Hfully my work speaks for my intentions.”

Shania’s latest single, “Giddy Up,” is moving people in a very physical way.

The song has already sparked its own dance craze.

When she’s not putting a hitch in people’s giddy up, she’s keeping a promise to herself.

Shania Twain: “Yes, it’s been very common for me to donate a dollar from every seat, every ticket to Shania Kids Can. I always i promised myself as a kid that if i ever had money that i would give back to people.”

There are no South Florida dates on the “Queen of Me” tour — yet. But we can dream, right?

Weird. It looks like Shania will be "riding" a motorcycle in the concert again like in her first Vegas residency. You can see it in one of the videos Mirko posted from the couple's wedding that Shania sang in. She rehearsed in Primm, Vegas.

Shania Twain is the latest superstar to kick off her tour in Spokane

By Ed Condran | The Spokesman-Review | April 27, 2023

Shania Twain is gushing after learning about her latest chart success. “Giddy Up!” the energetic initial single from Twain’s new album, “Queen of Me,” is No. 10 on the Adult Contemporary chart.

“When I heard the news about ‘Giddy Up!’ I had this group hug moment,” Twain said while calling from her Las Vegas home. “I couldn’t be more excited.”

Twain, 57, has perspective and appreciation at this point when looking back on an unparalleled career. Twain is celebrating her latest hit since she is well aware that chart success isn’t automatic. That’s true even if you’re one of the best selling recording artists of all time.

“You can’t take any of this for granted,” Twain said.

Twain, who will kick off her “Queen of Me” tour Friday at the Spokane Arena, is one of the greatest crossover success stories ever. The five-time Grammy winner, who grew up impoverished in Ontario, Canada during the ’70s, rivaled Garth Brooks as the top Brooks attracted a pop audience to country while Twain brought pop to country.

There was never anyone quite like Twain, who burst onto the scene as a videogenic, charismatic singer-songwriter, scoring hits with an infectious amalgam of sounds. Country combined with big rock hooks and a dash of adult contemporary catapulted Twain to superstardom.

Twain collaborated during the ’90s and early 2000s with her then-husband, producer Mutt Lange, who has made a career out of enhancing stadium rock anthems for Def Leppard, AC/DC and Muse.

The songwriting partnership spawned a number of No. 1 hits. “Any Man of Mine,” “(If You’re Not In It for Love) I’m Outta Here,” “You Win My Love” and “No One Needs to Know” are the chart-toppers from Twain’s breakout album, 1995’s “The Woman In Me,” which sold more than 20 million copies.

The Canadian Music Hall of Famer winner doubled her success with 1997’s “Come On Over,” which sold more than 40 million copies. “Love Gets Me Every Time,” “You’re Still the One.” “Honey, I’m Home” and “Man, I Feel Like a Woman” soared to number one.

The latter became a signature song for Twain. Somehow Twain had no idea that the infectious tune was a hit after experiencing the initial playback.

“I never knew that any song I wrote would become a hit just after hearing it,” Twain said. “The same goes for ‘Man, I Feel Like a Woman.’ I felt good about the song when we finished it. It was my statement song and fortunately it resonated with women.”

It’s not easy for Twain to come up with a set list since she has to play her many hits and also showcase tracks from her new album. “I want to make sure the fans get the classics,” Twain said. “I have to play the hits, which I still love to perform. I’m going to play some of the new songs and some songs I’ve never done onstage from prior albums. But what I’m really excited about is the new songs.”

The latest batch of Twain tunes are celebratory, empowering and light-hearted, which is quite a contrast from her last album, 2017’s “Now,” which features some of her more earnest material.

“ ‘Queen of Me’ is my happy album,” Twain said. “I wrote it during COVID, which obviously wasn’t the happiest time in the world. I wrote the new songs to cheer me up. I tried to be optimistic and keep this healthy attitude during lockdown. I wrote songs that made me want to dance and I hope that’s what the audience does when I come to town.”

Twain, like such legends as Paul McCartney and Bob Dylan did in 2022, will kick off her tour in Spokane and has no idea how the response will be when she hits the stage. However, Twain is aware that the demographic will be wide. “It’s really beautiful, heartwarming and surreal that a lot of the fans listening to my new music were just kids during the ’90s,” Twain said. “They were like 3 or 6 years old then. And then there are the fans who are my age that will be there and it will be like a reunion.”

The Spokane concert is significant for Twain, whose stepfather was an Indigenous Canadian, since the city’s Native community is about 25,000 in total, according to the U.S. Census.

“It touches me when I perform in a city with a substantial Native population,” Twain said. “What I grew up with is a personal part of my life that I never lose touch with. I relate very well to those that are Indigenous. That was my world from childhood. It’s my upbringing. I have a lot of compassion for the Indigenous.”

Twain waxed about the musical talent in the Canadian Indigenous community. “I grew up with music,” Twain said. “There were so many gifted players. My family on the Native side, there were so many musicians. My uncle was a great fiddler. Not many got out past the community. But there are some that have had careers in music.”

Buffy Sainte-Marie, who is an acclaimed Indigenous singer-songwriter, had an impact on Twain. “Buffy S ainte-Marie is amazing,” Twain said. “Buffy is just an incredible writer. There are so many talented musicians on reservations. That talent needs opportunity but it’s not easy to get out there and make it.”

Twain knows from experience. The member of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame dealt with adversity as a child, growing up impoverished. Twain has bounced back a number of times during her career. Twain overcame Lyme disease and survived the dissolution of her marriage with Lange.

“My philosophy when it comes to rough spots in life is that it’s mind over matter,” Twain said. “I’ve always found a way to get back up again. I’ve never had another choice but to come back.”

A number of superstar recording artists, such as Taylor Swift and Harry Styles, have acknowledged Twain’s impact as a songwriter and entertainer. “It’s very flattering to hear that from those I respect,” Twain said. “When Taylor Swift says something so nice about you, it’s such a massive compliment. Taylor is a brilliant artist, a great songwriter and a wonderful person. Taylor is one of those adults who grew up with my music.”

Twain is known as the “Queen of Country Pop” but is that phrase more like a crown or an albatross?

“I don’t think of myself as the ‘Queen of Country Pop,’ ” Twain said. “I’m just about being the queen of myself.”

Shania Twain is back on tour. The country queen talks throat surgery, set list and liquid diets

By Melissa Ruggieri | USA Today | April 28, 2023

A few years ago, Shania Twain wasn’t sure if she’d ever find her voice again.

Open-throat surgery to repair her damaged vocal cords – a long-gestating result of Lyme disease she contracted in 2003 – was frightening, but necessary.

Now, the comely country-pop superstar has returned with confidence and vigor as she celebrates the release of “Queen of Me” – her first album in six years – and readies the Friday launch of her seven-month tour bearing the same name.

It's her first tour in five years, and she's “doing great vocally,” she says from Las Vegas, where she lives, played two successful residencies (2012 and 2019) and also spent the past month rehearsing for her impending dash around the world. “I feel like my voice is back. It’s different, but it’s strong.”

Pre-singing warmups “to get the larynx in the right position” and warm downs are mandatory, and she’s prepared to tackle a set list of more than 20 songs, including a medley of some rare fan favorites.

“I’m not not going to do the classics, but I won’t be doing all of them. Since I did the Vegas residencies (of hits), I’ll give some of those a rest and am doing this medley of songs I might not have done on stage before and I know people love them,” she says.

Twain, who was bestowed with the Equal Play Award at the recent CMT Awards, also continues to advocate for female artists and is resolute that she will continue to “straddle the line” between country and pop music and “carry on being myself.”

Women have made progress, but not in country music

In the three decades since her self-titled debut, country music has regressed in bolstering female singers, Twain feels.

“They’re not as inclusive as they were,” she says. “It’s a mystery as to why. I would change it if I could, but all I can do is support the awareness. I’m glad I’m not a new artist starting out in country as a female. It’s a hard enough road as it is.”

Twain, who is providing a platform for Kelsea Ballerini, Lindsay Ell, Mickey Guyton and other female openers on her tour, points to a CMT study from 2020 that indicated more than 80% of country music listeners want to hear more songs from women. But she, like most, is baffled about the stagnant status.

“I don’t know why it’s happening, but I notice it and miss it myself as a listener,” she says.

Crossover controversy: 'I don’t know why it can work for one genre and not the other'

Twain’s affection for pop music is an anchor in own music. “Waking Up From Dreaming” and “Giddy Up” from “Queen of Me” are recent examples, but the five-time Grammy winner earned her popularity with the savvy marriage of electronic drum stomps and glossy production with fiddles and banjo on everlasting hits “Man! I Feel Like A Woman!,” “I’m Gonna Getcha Good” and “Any Man of Mine.”

Following the CMT Awards, where rapper Megan Thee Stallion presented Twain with the Equal Play honor and Gwen Stefani and Alanis Morissette performed their classics (“Just a Girl” and “You Oughta Know,” respectively), some social media mouthpieces attacked the show for spotlighting pop, rather than country music.

But Twain audibly shrugs at the backlash.

“It’s not new to country to have other genres joining in on live TV. And then you have so many country artists who have gone the other way. Pop has accepted guest vocals or duets with country artists. I don’t know why it can work for one genre and not the other,” she says.

Shania Twain appreciates Taylor, Adele and Madonna

Twain is an obvious fan of pop's queens, having seen Taylor Swift’s current epic outing (“It was an awesome, beautiful show”) and giving Adele heart palpitations when the British songbird realized Twain attended one of her Vegas performances.

She also appreciates the fashion element present in Madonna’s shows and is turning that inspiration into her own explorations on this tour.

“I’ve enjoyed being in the sewing room every day,” she says, and then clarifies with a laugh. “I’m not DOING the sewing – I have my girls for that – but I’m pinning and cutting and draping. They get scared when I say, ‘Gimme the scissors!’”

Twain is proud of the live show she’s created, which she describes as “chic and sleek” with graphics “telling a visual story.”

Shania Twain sticks to a liquid diet

It is inarguable that the lovely Twain, 57, barely looks different from her breakthrough years of “The Woman in Me” and “Come On Over” nearly three decades ago. She attributes her slender form to a strict diet of mostly liquids, primarily protein shakes packed with raw greens, usually spinach or kale.

Twain says she normally eats one meal per day and doesn’t often snack, but if she needs a boost, it’s peanut butter or dark chocolate.

Also, “Never cheese on a show day because dairy creates phlegm,” she adds.

Twain presents plenty of fortitude – especially with a 76-date tour on the horizon – but she doesn’t adhere to any rigorous workout routines.

“Before tour rehearsals I was riding horses and now I’m just running around a lot,” she says. “If I feel like I’m losing too much weight, I’ll eat some more. But I need to watch it for the wardrobe because (weight) goes on fast, especially now during menopause.”

Spoken like a woman who's found her voice.

It seems like it's a good mix of live singing and playback from the videos I've seen. I'm Gonna Getcha Good, Don't Be Stupid and Giddy Up sounded lipped. Youre Still the One, Waking up Dreaming and Inhale/Exhale were live. Her performance of I'm gonna getcha good sitting on the motorcycle looked kind of weird to me.

She definitely has a new lower track for I'm Gonna Getcha Good. I don't mind her lip syncing some stuff but it has an unnatural electronic auto tuned sound.

I don't know why she wouldn't just use the same track she used for the Now Tour and Let's go.

Shocked by the fact she came on stage in the original TDIMM outfit! She worked out like hell, saw it on display in Vegas and it showed how petite she was back than.

I'm pretty sure she was lipping MIFLAW to the original studio recording or some other new track that was very heavily autotuned. Not the same track as Let's Go and the Now tour. It sounded really weird.

I agree. Not a big fan of the new backing tracks of TDIMM and MIFLAW. It’s more obvious now that they’re lipped

From this Moment On has the same issue as well.

Her new backing tracks that she's using for most of the songs she's lipping sound very unnatural. Don't know why she's not using the same tracks she used in the past.

Its like she's over compensating for the audio issues she had two weeks ago at Tortuga.

Saw a post on Instagram from a couple saying they left the show early because her lip syncing was so obvious and bad.

Her Forever and for Always performance is actually kind of offensive IMO. It sounds like they took the original studio recording and electronically lowered the pitch. A very stark contrast to her performance of it at the Let's Go shows in 2019. No one can honestly believe she was singing that live.

I found a better video of FAFA (on Sergiobitch's Instagram story). I was wrong. The background singers were singing the melody and Shania was singing the harmony. Still kind of weird.

I don’t know why she perform the festival completely live and the concerts 90% playback. It’s boring to hear the cd. Also it is visible without hearing.
Isn’t there a way to sing everything live with her own backup. I can not even watch the videos on YouTube.
I would like to know if she does her vocal warm up. Also it would have been better to update the playback to her actual voice so switching would not be so obvious.
Also her hair looks to fake as it is completely wig. I preferred the extensions she used to use before.
Why is she singing roll me in the river and not kaching?

I watched the full videos of I'm Gonna Getcha Good and Any of Man of Mine. I really dont know what she's doing with these backing tracks tbh. We know she's capable of singing live and if she chooses not too she has old tracks that sounded good. The chorus of IGGG sounds like the background singer and Shania is just lipping along as if she were singing it. The verses of Any of Man of Mine verses are the same as the old track but the chorus now sounds very similar to the original studio version.

Why can’t she just sing to backing tracks. It’s very obvious when her backup singer is singing her part. Why??????? And what happened to the 20 outfits she mentioned on the red carpet?! I love her so much, but how can we send a message to her team that THIS is not working? Roll Me On The River? Synthetic Wigs? She’s way better than this.

I love when she sings live, but I recognize that she's not always able to and has to use backing tracks which I'm 100% fine with. It's not okay for a backing singer to be singing her part or for her to be using a track that's an electronically modified version of the original studio version
and for her to be lipping along to it when we know that is not what she sounds like anymore. It's incredibly tacky.

She would be criticized if she sang live and she would be criticized if she lip-synced. It is a lose/lose situation.

2023 "Queen Of Me" tour

I understand all the frustration. We would all love to see her singing live and beautiful as Adele can do in her concert. But she can't. And she's using the available technics to be there for her fans. For us. It's way much better than she's telling us that she'll never be on tour again.

I went to 2 Now concerts (Amsterdam and Brazil) and honestly I had such a great time with my wife there. Sang all songs until I had no voice.

I won't be able to go to the tour for now. Flight tickets are way too expensive. So I'm really hoping she comes to Brazil, and I can bring my daughter, that is now a little Shania fan to her concert and I'm sure she will love with or without the electric technics.

Cheers.
Marco.

Honestly surprised she didn't perform "Life's About to Get Good".

RE: 2023 "Queen Of Me" tour

I refuse to criticize her for using a backing track, She doesn't have the voice too pull off a two hour show live. It looked like an amazing time for fans. She's been extremely vocal about having damaged vocal cords. My only problem is she keeps telling people her voice is better than ever and sounds different. Girl I love you but if you are going too pull off a two hour show at least pre-record every track without the autotune to make it look less obvious. However the concert looked fun and the Now tour wasn't live either and it did well. Pretty Liar I absolutely love but there are many kids at her shows so not sure if she will get heat for cursing or not. I love the song alot just not sure if should be Sung when you have 5 year old kids there. I'm not hating the song I love it. I am just unsure if it is appropriate for her concerts going forward? Any thoughts because I'm unsure about using the word F at a concert with kids. However I would assume a warning has to be given before they enter the the arena no? Tommy any thoughts

First of all, what happened to the 20 outfit changes? She hardly changed at all!

Second, she obviously needs backing tracks. Her voice is too shot to sing "live" every night. But these new backing tracks for IGGG, AMOM, TDIMM are pretty bad!

Shania Twain's Global QUEEN OF ME Tour Kicked Off Last Night

Shania has also the released 'Queen of Me (Royal Edition)'

By Blair Ingenthron | Broadway World | April 29, 2023

Let's go, girls! Last night, five-time GRAMMY️ Award-winning singer, best-selling female artist in country music history, and Queen of all Queens, Shania Twain, kicked off the first leg of her highly anticipated global Queen of Me Tour in Spokane, WA at Spokane Arena.

The show began with the energetic opening chords of "Waking Up Dreaming," bringing the sold-out crowd to their feet. As they sang, clapped, and danced along, there was something missing from the stage: Shania herself! When the chorus rolled around, the Queen made her grand surprise entrance and emerged from the stands to a roaring crowd in a fabulous jaw-dropping outfit.

As she ventured onto the stage, Twain was ready for take-off. The screens were entrenched with colorful, other-wordly visuals and showcased a rocketship initialed "ST" serving as the on-screen centerpiece. The rocket wasn't the only thing serving - Twain's setlist definitely impressed us much! Her neon saloon party was soundtracked with several crowd favorites including "Up!," "Don't Be Stupid (You Know I Love You)" and "I'm Gonna Getcha Good."

The night continued with performances of several of Shania's iconic hits from over the years including "Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under," "Any Man Of Mine," "From This Moment On," "You're Still The One," and "That Don't Impress Me Much," and left absolutely no crumbs. The Queen also performed songs off her latest album, Queen of Me, including "Giddy Up!," "Inhale/Exhale AIR," and "Number One." What really slayed the house down was the fan-favorite medley of songs she hasn't performed in decades: "Nah!," "She's Not Just A Pretty Face," "Waiter! Bring Me Water!," "When," "Thank You Baby!," and "Party For Two" - SHEESH!

With a galactic trip to Twain Town's infamous saloon - complete with collapsing buildings in the desert and royal disco parties - the show's elaborate set design is the brainchild of the Queen herself. Shania collaborated with creative producer Cory FitzGerald (Adele, Blackpink, Kendrick Lamar) and BLINK's Tom Colbourne and Rupa Rathod (Katy Perry, Carrie Underwood, Doja Cat) to put together the fabulous production and stunning screen graphics.

To celebrate the start of her global tour, Shania also graced us with the Queen of Me (Royal Edition) yesterday - listen HERE. The expanded edition features 5 new tracks including "Bone Dry," "Wanted Man," and re-imagined versions of "Inhale/Exhale AIR (feat. Breland)," "Queen of Me," and "Giddy Up!" Not to mention, "Giddy Up!" has spent five weeks in the Top 10 at AC Radio, making it Shania's biggest radio placement since 2005's Greatest Hits album. Once again, she's at the top of the charts alongside some of the biggest names in the world, including Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, Harry Styles, Elton John and Britney Spears!

Lindsay Ell also joined Shania last night and will continue touring with her on several dates. Leg one's stacked lineup includes Hailey Whitters, Breland, Kelsea Ballerini, Robyn Ottolini, Priscilla Block, and Mickey Guyton.

The Queen of Me Tour marks one of Shania Twain's biggest tours to date with more than 80 dates across the globe this year. This is also her first tour in nearly five years, following a highly successful residency run in Las Vegas last year.

The tour continues tonight with a show in Seattle, WA at Climate Pledge Arena before continuing across North America and Europe, hitting Vancouver, Nashville, Montreal, New York, New Orleans, London, Glasgow, and more. Shania will then embark on the second leg of the tour in October for another round of shows around North America.

With so many more surprises lined up for the rest of the tour - including eclectic outfit changes every night - Shania Twain is making sure her live-show lives rent-free in everyone's minds. So look under your beds, dust off those cowboy boots, and Giddy Up! to a venue near you!

Just wondering here: what happened to her Endless Love voice? That was after her voice issues began and she was soaring on that record. Her voice wasn’t a baritone like she is now and it even had a ping of an electric guitar. Just wondering here.

She looks and sounds wonderful, per usual. I must say reading some of the posts here is quite disheartening that people have the audacity to criticize every little detail. Perhaps you should put yourself on stage in front of thousands of people year after year and see just how much work it is. I’m thrilled we have a Shania tour and now two album releases this year. There was a time where we all thought “Rock This Country” tour would be her final one and here we are graced with her presence once more. Tough crowd, perhaps we should be a little more grateful for the goodness that we all have in Shania.

This is just the first show and I have a feeling she'll change it up a bit as the tour goes on. Maybe she was having an "off" night with her voice, so decided to heavily use the backing track. The thing is that she can't win with some fans. We're all aware of the vocal issues she's been having. You can't expect her to sing a 2+ hour show live several times a week when it's unreliable. She was criticized when she performed fully live at the recent festival and now she's being criticized for using a backing track. The thing is, almost all artists these days use backing tracks to save their voice on tour, even Celine Dion and Dolly Parton. When you go to these shows, it's for the whole experience. The visuals, the music, the atmosphere. I'm just grateful that she's still able to tour, when we all thought the Rock This Country tour would be her last. We all knew what to expect. She's been using a backing track on certain songs since at least the Up! tour. If this upsets you, then don't go to the show!

No one is complaining about her using a background track. It's necessary for her to sound good on some songs. What we are saying is that some of her tracks sound extremely weird.
Examples:
-The background singer singing the melody on the chorus of IGGG while Shania lipsyncs to his vocal
-Shania singing the background vocals on FAFA while the background singers are singing the melody
-New tracks for the choruses of TDIMM, AMOM, and MIFLAW that sound like a digitally altered version of the original studio recording.
She should just use the same tracks she used for the Now tour and let's go which were fine l.

I’m not upset if she lip syncs or uses backing tracks. I’m disappointed that her team thinks that her fans are STUPID enough to think that her and her background singer have the same voice. He’s literally singing her lead part on many of the choruses and she is simply miming to ANOTHER PERSONS VOICE. I will always love her and support her but I am very concerned about what the casual fans will think of this show. An artist of her caliber should be putting on a bigger production. And if you’re going to tell an interviewer that you have 20 quick changes, we take your word for it. So sad to see only two outfits last night :(

Looking at the comment thread from her FB post about last night’s show, the vast majority of people who said they went, loved it! A reminder that for the occasional critical tweets or IG comments that get reposted here, there are often dozens more positive comments…

Also it’s a shame that in the dissecting of her voice and backing tracks that nobody mentioned much about the production itself which looks incredible! Staging quality, light effects, and her overall performance are super impressive. It, looks like she got industry best tour designers from some of the hottest acts out there according to the article from Broadway World.

Lastly I’m thrilled by the tracks she selected from QOM. Can’t wait to see her in LA!

She has a parental advisory before she sang Liar.  The whole crowd got excited when that came up on the screen because they knew what song she was about to sing.

I have said the same thing the backup singers are making it sound like a man at times. I know they are men but they are to high in range making Shania sound like a man when they start singing. Waking up dreaming was so autotuned it felt odd. I don't even know if the band is live can anyone confirm that? 20 costume changes? Perhaps she got confused and said songs. Maybe a different outfit per show? I am not disrespecting Shania on using Playback but at least don't have the male singers sing over the track and when she does live they make it sound like a man is the lead singer at times. I am a huge fan but as this tour goes on I expect fans to start complaining and what is she gonna do when a Big News outlet does a review and says what we are saying ? Her voice is not stronger than ever it is the worst she has ever sounded. I'm afraid COVID might of damaged her voice even more. Great album but singing live won't work unless she starts warming up which it doesn't sound like she is. If she is warming up before performing and still sounds like she does then we can potentially might not even see this tour to even finish. She needs changes and those back up singers got too go because they make her sound worse. I'm a fan but I have to give my opinion as a fan. I am sorry I can't post on here and always be positive when I think what I am saying people are already saying for a while now. Hopefully the tour improves but with the back up singers it likely won't change much.
