Billy Currington weighs in on the suspicion he was ‘secretly married’ to Shania Twain

'“I gotta show my grandkids!'

As Billy Currington and Shania Twain near the 20th anniversary of their sultry duet, “Party For Two” from 2004, the rumor mill has sparked up once again.

During a conversation with Audacy’s Rob + Holly, the 49-year-old set the record straight about a Google “fact” stating he and Twain were married from 1993-2008.

“We were [married], but it was a secret,” Billy said with a straight face. “I’m just kidding! That was a joke,” he clarified before bursting out in laughter.

“Screenshot that one,” he laughed saying it’s “one of the craziest things” he’s read about himself on the internet. “I gotta show my grandkids!”

Clearly, Billy hasn’t lost his good vibes after taking a break from the music industry, and now he’s ready for his return with the release of a new single, “City Don’t.” 

“The past two or three years I just didn’t focus on that [music], I focused on other things like myself,” he said. “I could go on and on. Then I was like, ‘Wait! I have a music career — I gotta get back to it.’

“It’s exciting, I’m starting to make some rounds and see people that I hadn’t seen in a long time and they were like, ‘Where you been?’”
