Members of Shania Twain's stage crew injured in Saskatchewan bus crash
By David Prisciak | CTV News Regina | November 8, 2023
A crew bus and one truck involved with the Shania Twain “Queen of Me” tour were involved in a rollover near Wolseley, Saskatchewan.
In a statement to CTV News, Maverick Management confirmed the vehicles – which were travelling from Winnipeg to Saskatoon – were part of the tour.
“Members of the production crew who require medical attention have been taken to nearby hospitals. We are incredibly thankful to the emergency services teams for their quick response and ongoing support,” the statement read.
“We ask for patience as we look after our touring family.”
In an update at 3:30 p.m., RCMP said 13 people were treated in hospital for injuries described as non-life-threatening.
Officers from Indian Head originally responded to the rollover just after 7 a.m.
Highway 1 remained closed from Wolseley east to the Manitoba border due to poor road conditions – but was reopened just after 12 p.m.
CTV News observed the vehicle involved in the rollover had Tennessee license plates.
Branding on the vehicle identified it as part of the Beat The Street USA fleet – a Florida based company specializing in band and crew bussing, according to its website.
Indian Head RCMP continue to investigate the crash.
The Town of Wolseley is located approximately 100 kilometers east of Regina.
As of 1:30 p.m., the next stop on The Queen of Me Tour is still set for Thursday, Nov. 9 at 7:30 p.m. at the SaskTel Centre.
It's still breaking news, it's all over social media with a lot of big news outlets reporting on it. 13 people injured no deaths. The photos are hard to look at. I wouldn't be surprised if she cancels the rest of the tour. We will see
With only 3 shows left I am assuming she won’t cancel (different if there were fatalities). Make some modifications and fly some crew in from elsewhere.

Twain's manager says popular Canadian singer was not on the bus
CBC News | November 8, 2023
Shania Twain's manager says members of the popular Canadian singer's production crew were taken to hospital after a crew bus rolled and a truck jack-knifed on the Trans-Canada highway in southeastern Saskatchewan on Wednesday morning.
RCMP say the crash happened on Highway 1, east of Wolseley, Sask., a town about 95 kilometres east of Regina, shortly after 7 a.m CST.
"Members of the production crew who require medical attention have been taken to nearby hospitals," Leila Hebden, Twain's manager, said in a Facebook Messenger message to CBC News.
"We are incredibly thankful for to the emergency services teams for their quick response and ongoing support."
Hebden said Twain was not on the bus. According to the SaskTel Centre, Twain's Queen of Me Tour is set to continue on Thursday night in Saskatoon.
The country singer had performed in Winnipeg on Tuesday.
Dwayne Stone, fire chief for the nearby town of Grenfell, said his crew was called out to the crash. Roads were extremely slippery after the area had been doused by rain then covered in snow.
Firefighters found the bus on its side, Stone said. They had to break windows and use the bus's emergency hatch to free 13 people stuck inside.
"It looks like they lost control, went into the ditch sideways and then the wheels caught the ground and it rolled," he said.
"The bus was a double-decker bus with a sleeper unit on top. We had to cut some of that and remove some of that to get access to some of the passengers."
All 13 people on the bus were taken to Indian Head Union Hospital, he said.
"When it rolled, all the debris trapped people in," he said. "Basically we just had to go in, gently remove items, so we can free people.
"Most of the passengers from what I understand [have] minor injuries — broken bones, cuts, bruises — but I didn't hear of any life-threatening injuries."
The Saskatchewan Health Authority said later Wednesday that two people were transferred to a hospital in Regina and the others were discharged.
Beat The Street USA — a Florida-based company specializing in buses for bands and crew — confirmed it operates the vehicle involved in the rollover. The bus had a Tennessee licence plate.
"I am devastated to to have to tell you that a Beat The Street USA bus experienced black ice on the roadway causing an accident," Joerg Philip, owner of Beat The Street USA, said in a Facebook post.
"Our top priority is the heath and well-being of our passengers."
Firefighters also retrieved luggage from the bus to get the passengers' passports, Stone said.
Stone said he figured many passengers had been sleeping when the bus tipped, because they "just had their socks on and no coats," he said. "We had to give them blankets to keep warm."
Highway 1 was closed east of Wolseley to the Manitoba border on Wednesday morning due to poor driving conditions, but has since reopened.
Stone said firefighters also responded to two jack-knifed semi-trailers on the highway the same morning.
Word is out here locally that charges are coming, with bus driver in fault.
Can tell you first hand that hwy 1 , better known as Trans Canada Highway thro this flat prairie flatland with no hills, no curves, pretty much no traffic, that this accident should never have happened., Thus charges to follow

Tried to post here what I thought was valuable news on this story as I live locally. Seems moderating tho is somewhat controlling and uses the delete post by default. Pls remove my account
Black ice applied to all vehicles at this time. Watch for careless driving charges to follow. When a bus rolls, while transports are fine, it kind of tells a story. Anyhow. Thx for the kind welcoming.. pls delete me

Your post wasn't deleted. You started a whole new thread. I simply merged it into this thread.

Shania Twain's Tour Bus Involved In Major Accident, Multiple Hospitalizations
Prayers for Shania Twain and team as multiple injuries have been reported after Shania Twain's tour bus was involved in a horrifying crash today in Canada. We are sending our love, support and prayers to all involved, their families and to the entire Shania Twain camp during this time.
Lily Rose says her heart is in Canada with those injured in the highway accident involving one crew bus and one truck from the Shania Twain - 'Queen Of Me' tour.
For those who saw the news and have been messaging me… I am fine, I was not on the bus, and thank you for checking in. For those who have not heard… yesterday morning, one of our crew busses carrying several members of our tour family hit a patch of black ice on the freeway, went off the road, rolled, and ended up on its side. Miraculously, all 15 people, including the driver, survived. We have two members of our family in the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, and the rest received medical attention for more minor injuries and did not require overnight hospitalization. This could have been SO much worse. We appreciate any positive vibes you can direct towards our tour family from bus #3 right now, and wish them a speedy recovery. As of now, it appears that we’ll be continuing on with the tour, even performing our regularly scheduled show tonight in Saskatoon. Onward and upward, thanks again for your well wishes. #bus3 #shaniatwain #queenofmetour #tourfamily
