Now I wasn't a fan of, Queen of me I loved. However this song and Shanias voice is the best in since party for two. Not everyone will agree with me. This song is awesome and she sounds the best like her old stuff

I hope this is prominently featured in the film during a cool montage scene or something—I am loving the song.

It’s only heard in the background at a rodeo scene, 15 seconds or less.

Tommy,

Do you know if this is actually released as a single to country radio. I haven't heard it once!

"Boots Don't" hasn't been released as a single. I don't think it will be.

Box Office: ‘Twisters’ Whips Up Huge Storm With Record $80.5M Domestic Opening

The film marks the biggest start ever for a natural disaster pic in North America. The winds, however, weren't as strong overseas.

By Pamela McClintock, Aaron Couch | The Hollywood Reporter | July 21, 2024

Lee Isaac Chung’s Twisters is whipping up huge winds at the box office, with forecasters predicting a far better than expected domestic opening of $80.5 million in North America. That’s even up from Saturday’s already massive estimate of $74.6 million.

The record-breaking movie, playing in 4,151 theaters, easily boasts the top domestic opening ever for a natural disaster film, not adjusted for inflation. (The current crown holder is Roland Emmerich’s The Day After Tomorrow, which bowed to $68.44 million in 2004.) It’s also the third biggest start of the year to date behind Inside Out 2 ($154.2 million) and Dune: Part Two ($82.5 million) after edging out Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire ($80 million).

The turnout for Twisters cements the rising star status of Hollywood’s man-of-the-moment Glen Powell, along with Daisy Edgar-Jones and Anthony Ramos (the trio lead the ensemble cast). It’s also a notable win for Chung, the acclaimed filmmaker of indie hit Minari. The film’s demos are impressive: It is playing evenly among females and males, as well as appealing to both younger and older adults in what could lead to a new franchise. The film’s critics score on Rotten Tomatoes is a decent 77 percent, but its audience score is much higher at 92 percent, in line with an A- from Cinemascore.

Twisters arrives 28 years after Twister, the envelope-pushing feature that broke ground for marrying visual effects with practical effects. It starred the late Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt, and hailed from filmmaker Jan de Bont. The original film was a box office juggernaut, opening to $41 million ($82 million in today’s dollars) and ending its run with $494.5 million globally ($992.08 million today).

Chung shot Twisters in Oklahoma, the heart of Tornado Alley. And, not surprisingly, the movie is doing its biggest business in areas impacted by the dangerous weather phenomenon (Friday’s top theater was in Oklahoma). Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment, Universal Pictures and Warner Bros. Pictures are behind the feature, with Universal handling domestic distribution and Warners International taking overseas (the movie’s opening is a coup for Amblin).

While Twisters became a Category 5 storm domestically, the same can’t be said for overseas, where the film is coming in slightly behind expectations. It took in $27.1 million from 76 markets this weekend for a cume of $42.7 million (it opened in some markets ahead of its domestic debut). That puts the global total at $132.2 million against a net budget of $155 million. It’s scoring its biggest numbers in Latin America and Australia, along with the U.K, but bombed in China with $1.5 million.

Heading into the weekend, tracking services had Twisters starting off with $40 million to $50 million domestically. Some distributors believed it would go higher, but no one predicted $70 million-plus, much less $80 million.

Twisters easily won the weekend in North America and is a sizeable gift, considering the tough comparisons over the same weekend last year when Barbie and Oppenheimer opened, setting off the Barbenheimer effect. There was no chance that this weekend was ever going to match last year, but it could have been far worse had Twisters not overperformed.

Shania Twain's new single, "Boots Don't" DOES give fans everything they've been waiting for

By Justin Patrick McPherson | HubPages | July 30, 2024

Shania Twain is one of the most beloved artists in music history, and is the best-selling female artist in country music, ever. In the 90's and early 2000's, Shania rose to fame with the help of her then-husband/producer Robert "Mutt" Lange. Together, with Shania's clever writing style and Mutt's rock and roll influence on her tracks, they came up with a formula that had never been used before in the country music world. She later would explore the pop territory with alternate versions of her albums and become the fan-proclaimed "Queen of Country-Pop". She is the only female artist in history to have 3 consecutive diamond certified albums. Her 1997/1999 release of "Come On Over" became the #1 selling album by a female artist of all time and continues to hold that title today in 2024. Her "Greatest Hits" album, released in 2004, was a testament to her legacy and included 4 new tracks that also charted well.

AND THEN SHE WAS GONE

Just as Shania seemed to reach the peak of her fame and success, she dropped off the face of the Earth in seclusion for years. It was later revealed that she had been diagnosed with Lyme disease, affecting the musculature of her vocal chords. This caused her to have issues projecting her singing voice. Her then-husband and long-time producer and musical partner Mutt Lange had also betrayed her in the most disturbing of ways.

Her then-best friend, Mary-Anne Thiebaud, had been having an affair with Lange over some period of time. Mary-Anne's then-husband, Frederic, phoned Shania to break the news. Long story short, Shania kicked Mutt to the curb and was taken by surprise when her comfort found in Frederic blossomed into a true love. The two were wed in 2011 in the Bahamas and are together today. He can be seen on social media and on her tour locations, supporting Shania in her newest endeavors

BUT SHE FINALLY RETURNED TO US

In 2015, it had been 12 years since Shania's last world tour. As she prepared to embark on what she called her "Farewell Tour", she announced that it would be her goodbye to the industry. Thankfully, during this tour, Shania fell back in love with the writing process and performing. Her first studio album in 15 years, "Now", would be released in 2017. The album debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200.

"Life's About to Get Good", the project's lead single, was a promising, uplifting country-pop anthem about life's ups and downs. It reached #12 on the US Adult Contemporary charts, and #33 on the US Hot Country chart. It is hailed as a fan-favorite and is now considered a classic Twain tune, even being included on a re-release of her Greatest Hits collection.

The album's second single, "Swingin' With My Eyes Closed" failed to climb the charts, its highest point being at #91 on the UK Single Downloads. The album, filled mostly with melancholy lyrics and less upbeat/fun tracks opposite her previous releases, was swiftly titled her "Divorce Album", and fell to the wayside as her successful "Now" Tour took off across the United States. The album was a short success, mainly due to the popular lead single.

IN 2023, SHE WAS WAKING UP DREAMING

Following the release of her Netflix documentary special, titled: "Shania Twain: Not Just A Girl" in 2023, came her highly-anticipated 6th studio album, "Queen Of Me". It was her first all-pop album of her career. The album had 9 different producers, along with several songwriters, including Twain herself. The result? A collection with a completely different musical style, and a feat that successfully made the switch from "country-pop" to "pure-pop". Combining pop and synth instruments, dance and disco beats, and using only Shania's own voice for the backing vocals, created a surprising, but welcome, new sound. The album reached #11 on the US Adult Contemporary chart, and #10 on the US Hot Country chart, despite being a pop release. She would later release extended versions of the album, containing tracks that were not slated for the original package.

The lead single, "Waking Up Dreaming", is a sonic splash of pop-synths, dreamy special effects, and an electric guitar solo that explodes with pop/rock energy and almost gives the song a modernized classic rock vibe. The song was the opener for her "Queen of Me Tour", and the music video was instantly iconic. Still, the album as a whole, left fans longing for that "old Shania sound" that hasn't been able to be replicated since her earlier releases. The energy was there, the fun was there, the songs were great, but the country/rock influence that created her unique sound in the 90s was notably missing from the c0cktail of melodies.

THE RETURN WE WERE WAITING FOR

Let's backtrack a bit here... In 1996, the iconic film "Twister" was released, starring Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton. The film's official soundtrack would feature Shania Twain's "No One Needs to Know" as a song from the movie. Jumping to the present day in summer of 2024, the sequel to the same film is released, titled "Twisters". Again, Shania Twain is on the track list for the official film soundtrack. Pure nostalgia, right? This time, she gives us an incredible track called "Boots Don't", featuring BRELAND. She has previously collaborated with BRELAND on a prior song, "Inhale/Exhale AIR", and has taken him on tour with her as well. The track is produced by Sam Samser, Sean Small, and Theron Thomas (as well as Twain).

The song is currently receiving rave reviews from long-lasting fans, mainly due to the revival of Twain's original heart-winning sound and style in the track. Featuring electric guitars, rock and roll kick drums, and heavy country inspiration, the tub-thumping tune is now being called her best single in decades. There is a demand by fans around the world for Shania to call up the producers of this single to work on her 7th studio album. Many fans took to social media to express their glee:

"Now this sounds like a classic Shania song. She needs a whole album like this."

"This Shania song is her strongest in a two decades, in my opinion. This should be a radio hit."

"She needs an album with this type of sound and production. It's like a throwback to her song 'Shoes' but also the red version of UP!"

"What a good song! We need new music like this. She needs a whole album like this."

"This is how I remember Shania at her BEST"

"This is how she NEEDS to sound on the next album. Perfection"

"Did Mutt produce this?! This is amazing! The guitars, the beat, the backgrounds, EVERYTHING!"

No. The blogger in the article above uses "single" instead of "song". I mean, yes, "Boots Don't" can be considered a single on the Twisters soundtrack but it's not officially a single.
