Okay, so Shania's next set of Vegas residency shows go though December 14 including a show on December 13. So they must be taping this round of "CGT" shows without Shania on the judges panel. Plus, what about Lindsay Ell? The host of the show. I guess she won't be playing in Vegas with Shania the last few shows.
After last night's Vegas show (Dec. 11), Lindsay did in fact fly back to Niagara Falls in Canada to tape the next round of "Canada's Got Talent" shows today and tomorrow. It looks like Brent Barcus has returned to Vegas and will play in the final two shows of this leg on Friday and Saturday.

***Next week's show is the final episode of auditions. Then the semifinals/elimination round will air the following week (May 6) which Shania was not a part of (see my posts above). The LIVE season finale with Shania and the rest of the judges will air May 13.

We know the season finale is live on May 13. But according to this article, the elimination round on May 6 is also live. However as you see in my posts above, the eliminations were taped on December 12 and 13 when Shania was playing in Las Vegas. So I guess the article is wrong.
With music back on his radar, Jacob Lewis preparing for second Canada's Got Talent appearance
Jacob Lewis is back on Canada's Got Talent on May 6
By Nicholas Mercer | The Telegram | April 29, 2025
Fresh off a standout appearance on Canada’s Got Talent, where he received the coveted golden buzzer from Shania Twain, people started to pay attention to Jacob Lewis whenever he headed to his favourite haunts around town.
All eyes were on the 34-year-old from Butlerville, and with that attention came some different experiences.
“I’ve always been a person that…if I go into the grocery store, I’m probably having a chat with somebody,” said Lewis. “Now … it’s a lot of people that you probably haven’t never really chatted with before.
“So, there’s a lot of people reaching out to you. A lot of people just saying, ‘congratulations,’ and it’s been absolutely wonderful.”
Dealing with fame
Of course, having a more recognizable face isn’t always a good thing. At first, Lewis’s newfound fame was a bit overwhelming. There were new people coming up to him, which can be taxing for anyone.
Instead of shrinking from it, though, Lewis shifted his viewpoint and decided to embrace it. People were taking time out of their days to wish him and his family the best, he said, and he appreciated their support.
“I was like, ‘Hang on, I got to change the way I’m thinking on this, because this doesn’t need to be overwhelming,'” he said.
“This is a good thing. If everyone is willing to take 10 seconds out of their day to comment on something, like something, share something, or reach out to me privately and send me a message — I just soaked it up, and it’s been wonderful.”
Taking the next step
Lewis’s performance in his first appearance the show was enough to earn him a ticket directly to the live eliminations in the next round of the competition.
It was also enough to get him thinking about music again. It hasn’t always been a steady relationship, he admits. For Lewis, it’s always been a start-and-stop thing.
In 2019, he released an album called Home Sweet Home, but then life halted his momentum. Whether it was playing senior hockey or starting a family, something always seemed to pull him away from his music.
Now, there’s a bit of momentum pushing him and music together again, and Lewis plans to take advantage of it.
“Music, with me, is kind of being bounced around all over the map. But with this right now … there’s a full gas tank here,” he said. “Now I’ve got to start putting my foot to the pedal here, and let’s try to see what we can do.”
Almost full circle
As Lewis prepared for the elimination round on May 6, he couldn’t help but think the whole experience had allowed him to come full circle.
It wasn’t that long ago when he was opening for former NL Canadian Idol contestant Rex Goudie at the Mary Brown’s Centre as a 14-year-old. Prior to that, he had only sung in front of people a handful of times.
“It was so surreal,” said Lewis. “To be honest, I just got goosebumps thinking about that. That’s kind of when things really started for me when it comes to music.”
Thanks to Twain’s support, Lewis’s return to Canada’s Got Talent will be full of hope for continuing his musical resurgence.
“It’s time to take the opportunity and capitalize on it, so I’m going to give that everything I got for sure,” he said.

‘Canada’s Got Talent’ to crown $1-million winner at Niagara Falls casino
The two-hour season finale will be broadcast Tuesday night.
By John Law | Niagara Falls Review | May 12, 2025
A new millionaire will be crowned at Niagara’s Fallsview Casino Resort on Tuesday night, but it won’t be in front of a slot machine or a roulette wheel.
It’ll be in front of Shania Twain and Howie Mandel, among many others, for the Season 4 finale of “Canada’s Got Talent” at the OLG Stage. Eight competitors, including five from Ontario, will go for the grand prize during the mostly taped, partially live broadcast on Citytv, starting at 8 p.m.
Viewers from across Canada will vote for the winner. The $1-million cash prize from Rogers is — like last season — the biggest cash prize in Canadian TV history.
For Vaughan singer Nicolina (first name only), it’s a chance to connect with Canada after she was a finalist on “American Idol” in 2022.
“It’s in Canada’s hands,” she says. “I’m just trying to put the performance first. I love the stage, I love performing … I’m really just trying to use that passion to overcome all the nerves.”
All Season 4 episodes were filmed at the OLG Stage last October, with new judges Twain and comedian Katherine Ryan joining returning judges Mandel and Kardinal Offishall. Singer Lindsay Ell also returned as host.
Nicolina received the Golden Buzzer from Ell, automatically sending her to the finals with a $25,000 prize.
The singer says she was humming songs before she was talking and used music to overcome struggles with depression and anxiety when she was 13. Win or lose Tuesday night, her 13-year-old self would be “very proud” at where she ended up.
“This is the dream for me. I came to do what I came to do. It’s been an amazing journey.”
Toronto comedian Darren Lee, who was Katherine Ryan’s Golden Buzzer recipient, won over the judges in October with a set touching on family expectations as an Asian immigrant.
For the finale, he’s giving himself a bigger challenge — get laughs while talking about his partner’s cancer.
“It’s not my funniest set, but it is the most meaningful set to myself,” he says. “I figure, if I don’t win, I did something that was very meaningful for me.
“It sends a very strong message using the world’s biggest stage.”
Lee has only been a comedian for less than three years and knows the “immediate feedback” of comedy can be more daunting in a reality competition like “Canada’s Got Talent.”
“The risk is higher, and in three to five minutes it’s really difficult to pull the audience in,” he says.
The other finalists are singer Carsim Birmingham from Vancouver; singers The Martin Boys from Woodstock, N.B.; singer Jacob Lewis from Butlerville, N.L.; comedian Sai Kit Lo of Markham; variety act Illumin Drone Shows from Toronto; and dance act Funkyverse from Toronto.
The two-hour finale starts taping Tuesday afternoon and airs at 8 p.m. on Citytv. The final 15 minutes will be live.
