Shania, 59, commented: “I’m so happy that this song I wrote ‘Yes, I Will’ has found a home on The Stylistics album. That is just so exciting. It’s a special song that came together on one special day at my home where I was hanging out with some friends and musicians. So I think it turned out great and I’m just really excited to share it with the whole world.”
Ray Parker Jr., Steve Lukather of Toto and bassist Nathan East performed on the track, which marks The Stylistics’ first song in 17 years.

Philly Soul Legends The Stylistics Releasing New Album Featuring Shania Twain, Ronnie Wood, Gene Simmons & Other Special Guests
By Matt Friedlander | American Songwriter | December 11, 2024
Philadelphia soul legends The Stylistics are preparing to release their first new studio album since 2008, a star-studded 21-track collection called Falling in Love with My Girl. The album, which is due out February 21, 2025, will be available as a two-CD set and via digital formats.
An impressive, and quite surprising, list of music stars lent their talents to the album. Among them are Shania Twain, Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood, KISS’ Gene Simmons, and ZZ Top frontman Billy Gibbons. Others who contributed to the record include Toto guitarist Steve Lukather, Ray Parker Jr., drummer Nigel Olsson and guitarist Davey Johnstone of Elton John’s band, The Darkness singer Justin Hawkins, former Chicago member Bill Champlin, and veteran U.K. soul group The Real Thing.
The Stylistics’ current lineup features founding members Airrion Love and Herb Murrell, as well as Jason Sharp, who joined the group in 2011.
Falling in Love with My Girl was produced by Tom Cridland, a singer, songwriter, and producer who fronts a popular Elton John tribute band. Cridland co-wrote most of the songs on the album with U.K. songwriter Anthony King and King’s wife, Fiona Shaw.
Airrion Love contributed two songs to the album, “Sad Tomorrows” and “I Get a Feeling.” Barrington “Bo” Henderson a former member of both The Stylistics and The Temptations, also wrote a song, “If I Fail,” and sings lead on the track.
Olsson and Johnstone played drums and guitar throughout the album.

About the Album’s Lead Single, Which Features Twain
The album’s lead single, “Yes, I Will,” features and was co-written by Twain. The track, which was the last song completed for the project, will be released on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2025. The country star had been invited to sing one of the album’s other tracks, but she felt her demo, “Yes, I Will,” a soulful tune on which she’d been working for a couple of years, was the perfect soulful fit for a collaboration with The Stylistics.
Twain had already begun recording the song with help from Lukather, Parker, and lauded session bassist Nathan East. Cridland wrote a new section for the tune, The Stylistics added their vocals, and Olsson played drums on the track.
“I’m so happy that this song I wrote ‘Yes, I Will’ has found a home on The Stylistics album,” Twain said in a statement. “It’s a special song that came together on one special day at my home where I was hanging out with some friends and musicians. So I think it turned out great and I’m just really excited to share it with the whole world.”
Added Airrion Love, “I fell in love with Shania Twain the first time I heard ‘You’re Still the One’—a great song that I still love. When we heard there might be a chance to do something with her, we said, ‘Hell yeah!’”
About Some Other the Famous Collaborators Appearing on the Album
Wood played slide guitar on a song called “Who Am I.” He recorded his parts in Philadelphia in June 2024, after The Rolling Stones played a concert in the city.
Simmons had originally intended to just play bass on a song titled “Don’t Leave Me Here,” but Cridlund invited the KISS great to sing on it the tune, along with Murrell.
Gibbons played a guitar solo on the song “You’ll Live Forever,” while Hawkins lent his guitar talents to the album’s title track.

Shania is in Los Angeles, isn't she? She could perform with them "Yes, I will", don't you think?

Even if Shania is still in Los Angeles, I doubt she would perform "Yes, I Will" with them. We don't even know if they are performing songs from the new album. Maybe one or two.

Do you think there will be a music video (with Shania)? It's still the first single from the album. In France, it is not even possible to pre-order the album, it is not listed yet. Are The Stylistics known elsewhere in the world?

I guess it's possible there'll be a music video for "Yes, I Will" with Shania but I wouldn't count on it. I think The Stylistics were fairly popular outside the U.S. during their heyday back in the 1960s and 1970s. They still tour outside the U.S..

It actually does, Shania sounds amazing and this duet is very impressive from this short clip. I love the different arrangements with this song. It will be interesting to see what the complete song sounds like. In fact this song sounds so different that people might actually listen and enjoy. It sounds unlike anything out there right now in the music world
The song debuts on Antena 1 in São Paulo, Brazil tomorrow February 12 at 6:00pm which is 4:00pm ET in the U.S. and Canada. You can listen to Antena 1 radio online.

A very good song. Very, very, good and quite catchy, especially the chorus. Shania's voice isn't so great though. Too much autotuned. I like the finale very much, that "I will" is a really great way to finish the song.
I like the very beginning, up to "such a long way"... But I find it soft, too slow, repetitive, without brilliance. It’s definitely this style of music that I’m not a fan of.
It has that old Motown feeling. I wonder who Shania wrote it with and what producer work on it!

Thanks, I think Shania should work with this producer again!
I’m so happy that this song I wrote is out in the world! ‘Yes, I Will’ came together during a jam session with some incredible musicians at my house and was very much inspired by my love of soul music. It’s a beautiful, soulful love song that found its perfect home with @thestylisticsofficial on their new album ❤️slinky.to/YesIWill
The Stylistics & Shania Twain release ‘Yes, I Will’
By Jo Forrest | TotalNtertainment | February 14, 2025
Legendary Philadelphia Soul group The Stylistics have collaborated with global icon Shania Twain on a brand new single, ‘Yes, I Will,’ released today for Valentine’s Day. Listen here.
Written by Shania, this beautiful love song describes the hardships that both she and The Stylistics have endured throughout their careers in the music industry and their lives in general which they have triumphantly fought through, and how unconditional love helped them do this. The melodic content of ‘Yes, I Will,’ is infectious, and the gorgeous blending of vocals showcases both artists’ incredible talents. It is a celebration of love and all that endures.
This duet is the first single off The Stylistics’ upcoming star-studded new album, Falling In Love With My Girl, which, as well as Shania Twain, also features the likes of Ronnie Wood of The Rolling Stones, Bill Champlin of Chicago, Jay Graydon, Gene Simmons of Kiss, Billy F Gibbons of ZZ Top, Justin Hawkins of The Darkness, The Real Thing and Tower of Power.
Shania was invited by the Stylistics to sing on their new album. She had the perfect song in mind, and once the band heard the infectious soulful hit, they completely agreed. Shania worked on the song with Nathan East, Ray Parker Jr. and Steve Lukather.
The Stylistics are one of the most influential R&B groups of all time, having released soul standards such as “Betcha by Golly Wow,” “I’m Stone in Love With You,” “You Make Me Feel Brand New,” and “You Are Everything”. The group’s indelible influence on popular music has been made evident by the countless remakes of their songs by other artists, including Diana Ross & Marvin Gaye’s 1973 version of “Stop, Look, Listen (To Your Heart)” and Prince’s “Betcha By Golly, Wow”. Many stars have also sampled the original recordings by The Stylistics, especially the track, “You Are Everything”, used, for example, by Mary J. Blige on her own “Everything”, by Jennifer Lopez on “The One” and by Usher, Beyoncé & Lil Wayne on “Love In This Club Part II”.

The Stylistics and Shania Twain share soulful love ballad Yes, I Will
The Stylistics have released their first new song in more than 16 years, featuring none other than Shania Twain.
By Lizzie Baker | Contactmusic | February 14, 2025
The Stylistics are back after more than 16 years with the Shania Twain-featuring ballad 'Yes, I Will'.
The '70s soul legends - who are behind the hits 'Stop, Look, Listen', 'You Are Everything', 'Betcha by Golly, Wow', 'I'm Stone in Love with You', 'Break Up to Make Up' and 'You Make Me Feel Brand New' - have joined forces with the 'You're Still the One' hitmaker on the lead single from their star-studded album 'Falling In Love With My Girl', their first in almost 20 years.
Shania came up with the song and just so happened to be with musicians Steve Luthaker, Ray Parker Jr, Nathan East at the time, who contributed to the finished tune, but she says it wasn't until The Stylistics added their vocals that it "really came together".
Shania commented: “I’m not known for making Soul records but Soul has always been a big influence for me musically. I have some friends who were part of making many of the great soul and RnB records of my youth. We get together when we can and jam out stuff. Several songs have come from these gatherings, when I have musicians around me, I can’t help but get to songwriting. I’m inspired being with talent I admire so much and one day I hope to make something of these songs as a collection but this track Yes, I Will found the most perfect home.”
She continued: “I’m so in awe of The Stylistics for their natural talent and effortless delivery. I can listen to their voices endlessly. I had this idea for the song Yes, I Will it all came together quite quickly for me lyrically and melodically, it was just a natural flow.
“Luckily I had some wonderful musicians at my house that day Steve Luthaker, Ray Parker Jr, Nathan East – they were all visiting and I had already laid down the demo – that morning. Before I knew it they were picking up instruments and adding their own sounds to the track but it wasn’t until The Stylistics vocal married with my own vocal that the track really came together.”
She added: “Just a beautiful soulful love song. I don’t know how I would have added the song to my own album – but it found its way to the perfect place amongst a truly wonderful new album from The Stylistics and I am so pleased that we can finally share it with you.”
Airrion Love from The Stylistics said: “I fell in love with Shania Twain the first time I heard ‘You’re Still the One’ - a great song that I still love. When we heard there might be a chance to do something with her we said, “Hell yeah!””
The 21-track collection by the iconic group – completed by Herb Murrell and Jason Sharp - also features the likes of Ronnie Wood of The Rolling Stones, KISS' Gene Simmons, and The Darkness' Justin Hawkins.
Plus, The Elton John Band (including Nigel Olsson and Davey Johnstone), Bill Champlin of Chicago, Billy F. Gibbons of ZZ Top, Tower of Power, Ray Parker, Jr., Jay Graydon, The Real Thing, and Carly Paoli.
Other than The Stylistics, funky horn section Tower of Power make the biggest contribution, appearing on the tracks ‘Don’t Leave Me Here’, ‘Rock and a Heartbeat’, and ‘I Could Never Leave Her’.
‘Falling In Love With My Girl’ - the follow-up to 2008’s ‘That Same Way’ - is released on February 21.
In the music video (1min 35sec mark), you can see she recorded Yes I Will at the time Camper was alive. So some years ago.
Is Camper in the video? Does anyone know how that dog passed away?
Yes, at the 1min 35sec mark in the video, laying on the floor. I'm not sure how/why the dog died.
I went back and watched it and saw Camper.
Does anyone know if Melody (her lab) is still alive? The last I recall seeing her was when she sat with Shania when she sang FAFA at the Let’s Go shows in 2019 and perhaps in the some of Shania’s COVID home videos that were released in the spring/summer of 2020.
I don’t think Camper has been in any videos since 2021 or 2022 which would imply Yes, I Will was recorded 3-4 years ago. I think I recall reading somewhere - perhaps on this site but maybe in a comment on Twitter/X that Camper unfortunately drowned.
The song has been recorded during the "Queen of Me" album recording session. I don't know if Shania originally wanted to put the song in her own album or not. I wonder if Melody is still alive, too. But I don't think she is. The last time I saw her was in all those videos Shania recorded during the COVID lockdown in 2020.

I'm thinking passed away :( A thread of Shania's current and past animals would be nice. So many people take photos of Shania and her animals it would be an awesome thread as I'm an animal lover. I'm wondering if Skipper/Skippy is still alive ? Beautiful cat.

The Stylistics Team With Shania Twain, Ronnie Wood & More on New Album ‘Falling in Love With My Girl’
The Twain-penned "Yes, I Will" is the lead single for the group's project that also features The Elton John Band, Gene Simmons and Ray Parker Jr.
By Gail Mitchell | Billboard | February 21, 2025
“You Are Everything.” “Betcha by Golly, Wow.” “I’m Stone in Love With You.” And, of course, “You Make Me Feel Brand New.” Those are just a few of the harmonizing gems that helped seal The Stylistics’ reputation as one of R&B/pop’s legendary acts. Now the group is celebrating its 57th anniversary with its first new album in almost two decades, Falling in Love With My Girl.
Released Friday (Feb. 21) through the label Greatest Music of All Time LLC, the 21-track album prefaced its arrival a week earlier with the soulful lead single “Yes, I Will” featuring Shania Twain. But the country superstar isn’t the only music luminary who collaborated on The Stylistics’ return with producer Tom Cridland and executive producer Debbie Cridland. Comprising that list of notables are the Rolling Stones’ Ronnie Wood, Kiss’ Gene Simmons, The Elton John Band (including Nigel Olsson and Davey Johnstone), Chicago’s Bill Champlin, ZZ Top’s Billy F. Gibbons, Toto’s Steve Lukather, Tower of Power, Ray Parker Jr., Jay Graydon, Justin Hawkins of The Darkness, The Real Thing, Nathan East and Carly Paoli.
“Here we are, blessed and fortunate to still sell out concerts and now able to go back in the studio and do new music,” says The Stylistics’ Herb Murrell. “Especially after such a long period of time. It feels good to know that somebody out there still thinks about us having a market for new music.”
It was when Murrell and fellow group members Airrion Love and Jason Sharp performed some shows in the U.K. a few years back that they first met Tom Cridland, who was their opening act. Then this past year, Tom did an entire tour with the group — which also performed at the Cridlands’ wedding reception. And out of that camaraderie, the seeds were sown for a new album.
“We have an established sound,” says Murrell. “So when working with anyone, you want to make sure that they don’t try to change your sound. The songs that Tom was bringing to the table had that Stylistics flavor with a new approach to it. That was the most important thing, which he understood while staying within what we’re known for: love songs.”
Case in point is the heartfelt “Yes, I Will.” Initially invited to sing on another song, Twain suggested “Yes,” which she had co-written with Nathan East with a contribution from Tom Cridland. Of the song, which also features musicians Ray Parker Jr. and Steve Lukather, Twain said in an earlier press announcement, “I’m so happy this song has found a home on The Stylistics album. It’s a special song that came together on one special day at my home where I was hanging out with some friends and musicians. I’m just really excited to share it with the whole world."
“Once we heard it, we knew it was a great song,” Murrell tells Billboard. “Then the next thing you know, Tom is coming back to us saying this person and that person wants to be involved with the project.”
Most of the album tracks were written by Tom Cridland together with Anthony King of Blackpool and King’s wife, Fiona Shaw. Two tracks were written by The Stylistics’ Love: “Sad Tomorrows” and “I Get a Feeling.”
Love and Murrell are the original members of The Stylistics, which began as a quintet in Philadelphia in 1968. The group was signed to Avco Records when its run of indelible ‘70s hits — in collaboration with legendary songwriters Thom Bell and Linda Creed — began, including “I’m Stone in Love With You,” “Break Up to Make Up” and “People Make the World Go Round.” In 1980 The Stylistics segued to Philadelphia International Records, where they scored another hit with “Hurry Up This Way Again.” All told, the group boasts five gold singles and three gold albums, while their songs have been covered or sampled by the likes of Diana Ross and Marvin Gaye, Prince, Simply Red, Jay-Z, Mary J. Blige, Nas and Usher.
A trio since the departure of member Russell Thompkins Jr. in 2000, The Stylistics welcomed Sharp in 2011. Of the group’s enduring appeal, Murrell says, “When you walk out on that stage, your audience will let you know whether you’re still relevant or not. But we’ve been blessed because multiple generations of people are still coming to see The Stylistics and hear this music. And that keeps us going.”
