I just listened to Hate That Way and OMG!!! I love it! This song, out of all the LMT songs would have the potential to be a hit. Should have been part of the deluxe 15-track album instead of Problematic since she didn’t write that one.
What’s Going On In There is nothing to fuss about. It’s not terrible; it’s a slow song and could fit on her debut album.

Did you find them online by any chance or your own copies?
I paid @roughtradenyc a visit to pick up my copy of Little Miss Twain (plus a few more favorites on vinyl) and leave some signed copies behind ❤️ Thank you to all the indie record stores giving this album a home - go pick up a copy and support your local record store!!shaniatwain.lnk.to/lmt_indie
anyone knows if the song "trippin on good luck" it's released in any cd edition? i thought it was on the hmv edition but some people said vinyl has this song and cd another one.
It's the only song i think it's not leaked yet, and finally we've got 19 songs not 20 as said

"Trippin' On Good Luck" is on Target and HMV vinyl only. They don't sell a CD with the bonus track.

Thanks Tommy, I think it's gonna get difficult to get it then, We'll have to wait for a future deluxe digital edition.
Absolutely loving the new album! The personal song writing is so meaningful and the songs for her voice. Not such a fan of Problematic and Down the Middle but otherwise have every other song on repeat. Rockstars (what a deep reflection on what it feels like to be young and channel that from a later stage of life) and Northern Town (especially when she sings “I wish you were still around”) both make me tear up— so poignant. But her humor and cheekiness really comes through too, especially on “Quit My Life” and “Stranger Things”. Really grateful she release this album.
And excited for her to tour the album! Looks like at least a UK tour based on what I saw in IG.
I did a complete 360 with this album. I was not a fan at first, and I thought it was her worst album yet. Now I'm obsessed! I love it! I wouldn't say it's her best but I don't know where I would place it in her discography either as my fav. I find myself falling asleep with a song stuck in my head and waking up with a new song stuck in my head. And I take it back, her worst is not the worst it sounds on this album. Also, I hated Dirty Rosie, but now it works with the flow of the album and I find myself jamming to it and actually looking forward for it to come on. All in all, great album! Not sure which song would be my favs... Maybe 'Right Time', 'New Love', 'Rockstars' and I LOVE 'Hate That Way' I don't know how that didn't make the album. My least favourite is "Problematic" but I don't skip it either... Why is it on the album? She didn't even write it!
Apple Music put up the lyrics for all the songs now and I was so wrong with the lyrics lol. The new lyrics makes me love the song so much more. "I run the fresh off a hot young horse, swim him in the river in the middle of the forest".
Updated booklet has been added. I don't think this will be the final version though because I don't like the flow of the last pages. Once I have the lyrics for the Target bonus track, I may be able to fix my issue.
Again, I know it doesn't matter but I won't lie, I am sad that the album is not doing well in the United States. HITS Daily Double posted their final Top 50 for next week's Billboard Top 200 and the album is not on the list.

It’s such a pity. Even Queen of Me was able to reach the top 10 in US…I hope at least for a top 10 debut in the hot country album chart.

Not to be in the top 50 on the Billboard Hot 100 is pretty bad. It is what it is. This might be her worst album to date. Some of the songs sound like demos. Worst production team ever. Worst record label ever. I love Shania but there are many things that could have been done better with this album. I like the album it is just my least favorite of all of her albums. Now the question is will it top the 100 Canada albums chart next week. I'm not sure. We shall see.

I don't know what you were all expecting. There was almost zero promo in Canada and the US. It seems most people didn't even know she had an album coming out.
For me album sales is beside the point. It’s so great to have an album I can listen to from start to finish like I did all those years ago when Up! was released.
Right Time for me is surprisingly my favorite right now along with That’s The Money. I found myself singing Problematic to myself throughout the whole day yesterday. Many don’t like this song but it resonates with what I’m going through right now. I love it. I think it’s beautiful.

Promotion only goes so far. That's why having HIT SINGLES is important. Hit singles generate radio airplay and high number of streams, which lead to album awareness and sales. Without hits, an album has no chance. The first time I heard "Dirty Rosie" I knew the album was screwed.

At Shania's age, I wasn't expecting hit singles. But the album as a whole not doing well is a little sad. Especially because I love it so much.

But they didn’t push for a hit single. No video, no promotion, no radio play. in Atlantic Canada, they play Shania all the tim, except it’s only singles from TWIM, COO and Up! The general public doesn’t care about her new stuff, they want the classics. It’s the same message when she tours. The general public complains that there is too much new stuff. Want it or not Shania is a legacy artist, and she’s well aware so she doesn’t try much anymore. She just wants to have fun and honestly, thats all that we should care about. I don’t care if the record is a hit, I’m selfish and I just want new music from her.

"They didn't push for a hit single." You got that right! They released "Dirty Rosie" has the lead single. Absolutely ridiculous! As I was saying, a good "sounding" song will sell itself and album no matter the promotion or artist's age. Look at Cher, she had hits in her 50s & 60s. She even had a hit Christmas song in 2023 at age 77!

I don't think any official lyrics have been released. I'm 99% sure the ones on Apple Music came from their partnership with Genius, which means it's all by ear. And the staff member who handled the bulk of the album is... not my favorite. I've seen them do a fantastic job at deciphering lyrics that are difficult to understand, but I've also seen them be wrong and stubborn in places that are not difficult at all. I'm not saying there's tons of errors, just to use caution and know that if something sounds off, it very well might be.
The "run the fresh off a hot young horse" part is definitely correct, though; Shania (mis)quoted it in the TalkShopLive interview (as "taking the hot off a fresh young horse").
I don't think either Shania or her label are especially concerned with sales figures and chart placement, beyond the general sense that the attached accolades are nice. Shania just cares about making music. The label cares about the money, but there isn't much of it to be had in record sales these days (unless your name is Taylor Swift), and they know that.
I'd guess that her Republic contract boils down to three basic points: 1) Shania makes the music she wants to and chooses when to release it (important given the cooperation she obviously wasn't getting at Mercury in recent years) 2) she'll do promotion but won't run herself into the ground in the process (important given the burnout/recovery cycle that dominated the first half of her career) 3) she'll perform consistently and the label will see an increased percentage of those profits.
She gets to make music, we get to hear it, and the label gets paid. Everyone's happy, and it relies almost entirely on ticket sales, which she has no problem moving.
I really think Parker was the only one thinking about the number 1 but it was so clear that Shania and her team, and of course everybody at republic were not thinking on it.
Don't talk about excuses, there are a lot of meetings between the label and the singer before the release of an album, programming everything , sure when they listened the proyect they said , it's ok but it's not a banger. She can release for sure what she decides but republic if does not see a clear hit does not put money on it.
when they put money in an album, they release the first single months before, pay rotation (today in playlisting), release a video... go to stores for singnatures days, release as they did so many different editions (the only thing they have done) and on the first week there are 4-5-6 digital editions with bonus tracks and a ridiculous price and nothing of this has been done because it wasn't on the plan. Queen of me as it was more bubble gum pop got all of this items on the release but it was clear little miss twain was not proggramed to get it
the reason? the sound or queen of me numbers were good but not what expected with all these promotion and they don't do it again for her.
Waking Up Dreaming and Giddy Up weren’t exactly hits but the latter even reached the top 10 AC chart…they probably generated interest in the upcoming album. Dirty Rosie was mostly criticised, even by fans and was unable to generate interest. There are so many good songs on the album that would have launched this era in a better way.
What a frustrating first week. We will see where she’s exactly in the billboard 200 soon. So I do not estimate now because event 15k total activity would be bad.
Queen of me would have chartet on 2 or 3 if there wasn’t the Grammys.
I guess streaming gets bigger and bigger year for year. But I was expecting her to land in at 12-16.
I now just hope top 10 in Canada. For sure she won’t be very high.
Really strange why she can’t work with a good producer if she writes herself to get a nice song.
Many here think she doesn’t care but of course she cares.
After her career break she only hat flops.
Last charting single was today is the day (and that was a bad song)
No radio support since more than 20 years.
It feels like the needs a new album
End of the year as she probably won’t manage to do a hit.
Someone said before promotion is expensive.
But see what the album brings in revenue (and imagine how many people have to earn from
The album sales)
I feel like the album generated less money than most people earn in one year.
She should have done some fresh collaboration way earlier. Not sure if any famous stars want to collaborate with her.
I mean also her voice is over
So yes. She should do what she feels like.
At least some hundred people are happy.
I still think this is a much more cohesive album than Now or Queen of Me, especially Queen of Me. I also generally agree with what’s being said here. While Waking Up Dreaming wasn’t a huge hit, I still hear it in random places like grocery stores, so it clearly had some reach.
As a hardcore fan, I love Little Miss Twain, but I can also understand why the general public’s reaction would be, “What is this?” Some of the production choices and, especially, the single selection made it unnecessarily difficult for casual listeners to connect with the album.
My biggest criticism, though, is that Shania’s album campaigns have become incredibly inconsistent and poorly executed. There seems to be no cohesive strategy anymore. The lack of music videos, questionable single choices, and inconsistent promotion make it feel like the albums never get a proper rollout. For an artist of Shania’s caliber, that’s incredibly frustrating to watch.
To be honest, she needs a Madonna moment and I don't know if that's possible without Mutt. A blend of TWIM and COO. She's willing to work with him but he's not, which I get as he's been dragged through the mud (which he deserved), and still is because it's brought up in almost every interview still. I also think it would be good for himself as well.
Maybe she can recreate that magic with Eja? The one song that he is listed as a producer is 'Right Time' and it's one of the best on the album and he also has background vocals and the background vocals sounds similar to when Mutt used to do them.
I know everyone is disappointed but I’m so not. I love this album. I like it even more than Up!. I’m not sure why everyone is stuck on the charts when we got a great new album.

I agree. I love the album. I've had it on repeat. I don't care about charts anymore. The charts today are a joke anyways. I'm just happy to have new Shania music. She set records that will never be broken. She's an icon. Fans need to quit expecting her to sell albums like she did in her heyday. All older artists are experiencing this. Let's just be happy that us devoted fans are still getting new music. I absolutely love all 3 post-Mutt albums.

Yes! I loved this album I've been listening to it all day! We should just be happy we are still getting new music! It's not going to be like her old album! I wrote my own review on it today! In my opinion Shania's writing is more deeper by herself!
I was looking at YouTube and Little Big Town just posted visualizers for their new album! A lot of other performers have them too. It's made with AI! And cheaper then a music video.
Still processing the whole album. As a huge fan since 1995, I'm happy with whatever the puts out. For now Rockstars is my favorite. I was looking at Ella Langley that is for many weeks at number 1 on billboard. For me that's a power country ballad, and has a concept video that already has 63 million views.
Shania was THE video country artist from 1995 to 2004 at least. I know it's expensive, but having a great music connect to a power Video can generate a lot of awareness.
After watching all the edition I think the best booklet it’s on the uk 2 cd edition , of course the one done on the forum it’s so far the best one but I’m talking of official editions
Tripping has been finally ripped and can be found in some mp3 forums , finally 19 tracks , would be great universal/ republic someday release the full album

I just listen to Trippin' On Good Luck and I'm wondering if it's speed up a bit because she sounds chipmunk-ish. Which I found the same with the instagram clip that we had earlier on. There's something with her voice and I find it just doesn't sound like her, almost Dolly sounding. My fav bonus track (maybe fav song altogether) is still hand down Hate Like That. It's such a jam!
