I had also managed to read "Night Time". I have high hopes that from Rockstar onwards we move from country to rock, from the music of her childhood to her adolescence. Honestly, right off the bat, I'm a little disappointed. The best part is the snippet of the chorus. Her voice is painful to listen to. It's a bit weak and dated. It's not bad, but disappointing for a first single. I have no doubt the next one will be better. Never before has her deep, raw voice been so confidently showcased.
I also think she chose this song because it's not too fast and easy to sing live at the ACM awards.

Shania Twain is heading back to where it all started. The country pop icon has announced her seventh studio album, Little Miss Twain, due July 24 via Republic Nashville, alongside the release of its swaggering lead single “Dirty Rosie.”
The project is described as Twain’s most autobiographical work yet — a record that reconnects the superstar with her Northern Ontario upbringing while still embracing the genre-smashing instincts that made her one of modern country music’s biggest crossover artists. According to Twain, Little Miss Twain pulls equally from country, rock, soul, bluegrass and pop, while revisiting the formative years before she became a ’90s global phenomenon.
“A lot of Little Miss Twain is reflective of my teens, my roots as well as the energy of the rock and R&B I loved so much, but still with that Western twang,” Twain says. “Where I’m from you don’t go anywhere on a horse — you go on a snowmobile. I was dreaming about the Western lifestyle and I was living in a very different world than where I ended up.”
The new LP can be seen as a reflective counterpart to Twain’s recent career resurgence. After ending a 15-year recording hiatus with 2017’s Now, she returned again in 2023 with Queen of Me, which launched a massive international arena tour. In between, she’s maintained a steady Las Vegas presence through multiple sold-out residencies while continuing to pop up everywhere from festival stages to awards shows.
Indeed, as previously reported, Twain will join Harry Styles this summer for a sprawling 12-night run at London’s Wembley Stadium before heading to Ireland for a standalone headlining date at Thomond Park Stadium on July 7.
The song sounds more like a demo than a finished product. You can't figure out the lyrics if you don't read them 'cause the music drowns her voice, that's definitely too raw and low here. The clip of "Little Miss Twain" sounds waaay better.
I don't know why when she does other stuff with other people her voice sounds so good (see "I'll be Here With You") but when it comes to HER stuff, she over-produce the final result and her voice sounds mechanic and auto-tuned to the limit.
Song itself is fine it’s just her voice is unlistenable let alone fit for a professional recording.
Which brings us to the question, what is it going to sound like when she performs it live (or with a backing track... which won't help)? If she sings this at the ACM Awards, I have a feeling the general TV viewing audience is going to be like "What The #&%@???"

On Amazon editorial reviews for the CD : "Little Miss Twain is the 7th studio album from Shania Twain featuring 12 new songs, plus an Amazon exclusive bonus track. Shania Twain is five-time GRAMMY winner and one of music's most influential voices with over 100M albums sold."
There's a n°13 bonus track.
I’ve listen to the song twice, and to be honest, I’m not a fan, which is super disappointing as I consider myself a super fan. Hopefully it will grow on me or that there will be better offerings on the album.
I just don’t enjoy the sound, the quality and the lyrics for the most part appears to be very random.
I agree. I think the worst lead single ever released.
On the first listen I felt the same way, but after hearing it on repeat for like ten times it really sounds like Shania. You should give it a few more listens.

Says the same on the Walmart exclusive. I imagine it's two different bonus tracks. Not a fan of that (although considering streaming has 15 songs instead of 12 so maybe all the bonus tracks will be there regardless? I don't know).
The problem is that we can't understand the lyrics (even English speakers apparently), it's unclear. Maybe it's intentionally done, like an old recording.
And nobody's talking about the official music video? When's it coming out?
And the first clip where she's chopping wood, that's completely unrelated (another song), isn't it?

I am guessing that first clip is an homage to her parents - and just an overall shoutout to the concept of the album
I love the cover of the album and the sneak peek of the title track…as far as dirty rosie song goes I’m shocked , it doesn’t even sound like a finished track and her voice is so over-processed. Sorry, but not a fan.

I agree. English is the only language I speak and I can’t make out many of the lyrics. Im glad that she’s still recording and releasing music, but I wonder if anyone (T Bone, Fred, Eja or label executives) told her how rough and unclear her voice is on this track.
I am really trying to like this track, but I’m struggling. I’ve listen to it on repeat all afternoon. I don’t see how she sings this live without extensive playback.
It doesn’t have the polished finished quality I’ve come to expect from a Shania track.
I agree with most of the comments. I do like the new music, but it's really difficult to understand her voice, and it looks too raw.
I don't understand why she keeps doing her own back vocals. Since Now she's doing that, her voice can't get the notes.
Also there's a formula she repeats to add a bridge towards the end of the music that breaks the flow of the song.
Anyway. As a fan since 1995 I'm happy that she's back recording. And since she has a history in our lives I'm sure we will keep listening untill we like it 😆
But my feeling is that it will be a difficult song commercially speaking.
As a fan I'm happy she's doing what she wants. Probably not carrying too much about what people think!
It’s a pity. In this song her voice is very enveloped and so overprocessed that is downright inaudible. “Now” album had the same problem with most of the songs…I don’t get it, her voice sounds much better in her Queen of Me era and her collabs with Anne Marie and Yung Gravy
At first listen, I was really trying to catch and understand Shania’s vocals and delivery but eventually started to grow on me. I honestly love the chorus. I’m just anyway happy that Shania continues to release new music for us fans and I’m hopeful this album will give us some great hits. I’m especially hoping the next single will be “Little Miss Twain” - it feels so personal and deep.

Released: 24th July 2026. (hmv Exclusive) Red Vinyl + Bonus Track 'Little Miss Twain' is the seventh studio album from Shania Twain featuring 12 new songs plus an exclusive bonus track.
It seems she will release those 3 digital bonus tracks 1 in each exclusive edition.
Hope she releases 1 edition with the 15 tracks at least on cd, I hate when they don't release a full deluxe edition, like queen of me, they should had released the full edition, not only digital.
I know it’s quite common to release multiple album versions each featuring a unique bonus track but does it make sense to use the same cover pic? There were at least 4 different cover pics for Queen of Me…I’m not so sure a fan would buy 3 different physical formats just for 1 additional track.

It is quite common nowadays. Now it’s mostly the colour variant of the record that is mostly different. But different cover is rare now.
Returning to my @applemusic radio home to catch up with @hanumanwelch and talk about my new music that explores who I am, where I came from and how it all began 🥰
