She needs to release a new single as soon as possible. This one isn't going anywhere and there's no way the streaming will improve. It's definitely unlistenable, Idk why she or her label thought it could be strong enough to be picked up as lead single. Let's hope she will perform Little Miss Twain tonight at the ACM and then release it. The clip she posted the other day sounded much better
Lol, I cannot get "Dirty Rosie" out of my head so I very much disagree that its unlistenable. I think Shania's at an age where she's just happy to still be releasing music and doesn't care too much about how well it does. Especially because she released it on a Wednesday instead of on Friday when the tracking week begins.
Dirty Rosie has grown on me as a fan but in terms of listenability for the general country music audience it’s not good at all. Her voice is so over processed and hard to understand. It sounds like a demo she made in her basement and had to push out because she had a deadline with the label.
I really question her selection of singles since her comeback in 2017. There are so many other songs on each of her albums that I feel would have been stronger selections. My other main criticism of her music since Now is that many songs are under three minutes or just barely over.
My hope that if she performs tonight, she will do her usual medley and do one verse and chorus of Dirty Rosie rather than the full song. The full song by itself would be a twainwreck live at an awards show. I think performing Little Miss Twain live with Tanya Tucker would be much stronger.

Brent Barcus is still home in Tennessee getting his guitars and equipment ready to fly to London for Shania's gig with Harry Styles. So if the band isn't in Las Vegas for the awards tonight, it doesn't look like she'll be performing. Unless she uses a total pre-recorded backing track.

Or she may use someone else's band. Maybe Tanya's...
That would be strange to use a different band for her song when she has her own. Wouldn't make sense. Does Tanya even have a band?
When she has performed at award shows in the past several years, I think the instrumentals were prerecorded and she had a heavy emphasis on dancers instead. Like there were no visible musicians in the AMAs 2019 performance and 2022 People‘s Choice Perfomance.
The duet with Tanya seems to be the next single, as she post some clips, and in my opinion there will be a 3rd single launching the album that will be the focus single, but this album as I said before it's gonna be more country influenced and not as international as the others, sure it will sell as she has worldwide fans, but not promoted everywhere.
If Republic/Universal were looking for highest numbers it would make more sense to released it in November for black Friday & Christmas sales.

It's almost certain she won't sing, since she said she's more relaxed than those who do. She'll be able to talk about the new music in interviews, which is already great (singing live wouldn't boost sales, and might even have the opposite effect). But I'm sure there will be a "deluxe" version or one with duets, a new song with Harry Styles for example, at the end of the year. And maybe even a Christmas album!

A 3rd single? That would be a miracle, she only released two singles from Queen of Me and despite the top 10 AC chart of Giddy Up she didn’t go further. I’m not even so sure that we’re going to get a proper music video for “Dirty Rosie”…I know that she released some snippets but i suspect that she might have filmed several short videos (the Little Miss Twain/ Axe scene / the Dirty Rose sequence shot) all in one day just for the social media marketing. I hope to be wrong but unfortunately music videos aren’t needed for success or chart promotion anymore.

Talking about 3rd single was just counting dirty rosie actually, little miss twain maybe in june and the 3 songs when she releases the album and this one, really promoted and with video. Not singles like in early years, actually they use to put 2-3 songs before the album release and stop promotion.
1. LITTLE MISS TWAIN (FEAT. TANYA TUCKER) 2. STRANGER THINGS 3. NIGHT TIME 4. DIRTY ROSIE 5. DIE FOR LOVING ME 6. FADED BLUE JEANS (FEAT. JOSH HOMME) 7. ROCKSTAR

She posted a new clip of the recording process for Dirty Rosie on Spotify.
Her voice is much clearer! Why didn’t they choose this version instead of the final one? It’s as if they were deliberately going for that old radio effect in the final mix, which I think ultimately makes the song less enjoyable to listen to.

I’m really hoping we get a companion documentary or book tied to this album that takes a deeper look at Shania’s youth.
Over the years, in interviews and in From This Moment On, she has often spoken about her childhood through the lens of hardship—particularly the abuse, instability, and poverty that she and her siblings endured.
What feels different about this album rollout is that she seems to be revisiting those years from a more positive and reflective perspective, sharing memories and influences from that time in a new light. I would love to see a deeper exploration of this side of her story and how those experiences shaped both her and the music on this album.

Who: Shania Twain What: Dirty Rosie When: Wed., May 13 Genre: Country Rating: NNN (out of 5) Why you should listen: With the announcement of her seventh album Little Miss Twain, Shania Twain releases the lead single from that album, Dirty Rosie. The song begins with Twain on the banjo as she brings vocals full of a tough country-strong presence. She and the banjo are then joined by a subtle drum beat and a less subtle electric guitar. It’s a fun time though one that ultimately feels like it’s lacking that extra bit of energy to make it truly feel like a classic lead single from Twain. Instead, the whole thing goes out with a hush rather than a triumphant bang, as if the song needed an extra minute or so to close out the way it should.
One week in, how does everyone feel about Dirty Rosie now? I had a mixed reaction to it on my first listen but since learning the lyrics, it has totally clicked for me and I loved it, it's been stuck in my head. Especially the bridge and chorus. It's a great windows down, sunny day, driving song.

I don't listen to it at all. One of her worst songs ever for me.

For me, the song isn't bad, but it's just ordinary, nothing special. It doesn't spark any enthusiasm or create any connection. It's a poor first single because it should have made people want to discover the rest of the album; instead, it's rather off-putting.

It’s a very weak choice for a lead single. The song is quite catchy but the production is poor…her voice sounds so much better and clear in the behind-the-scenes video in the studio.

So I liked the song, but I fell in love with the song hearing Shania's connection to it. I’m guessing that will be the key for the album.

I have had the song on repeat all week. I absolutely love it.
if she said there are 20 tracks , hope in a few months they release a deluxe edition, the catch would be if its gonna be a digital deluxe edition like queen of me or a physical release.
It was a pity queen of me with the 19 tracks was not released at least on CD.
For once can she record a duet with someone relevant? The War & Treaty? Sorry, no one cares. Like, get Harry or Taylor or Sabrina on the record so you can get some streams and radio airplay and have a chance on the charts. Makes zero sense!

I’m hoping she’ll be on one of the Debut Taylor’s Version vault tracks. I agree that her duet choices are odd. She has had such an influence on so many artists across both the country and pop spheres you’d think they’d be lining up to duet with her.
The vocal performance is growing on me. It was jarring at first (especially the second verse. the first verse has a cool groove to it but my god yhe second verse is rough man). I like the song a bunch. The songwriting isn’t the problem. The vocal performance is. She needs to layer her vocals like she did on Got It Good like mutate her sound to a whole wall of Shania choir But then again that’s just one fan’s opinion. I’m still looking forward to the album.
Shania Twain Kicks Up Dust With New Single “Dirty Rosie”
Uranium Waves | May 15, 2026
Shania Twain is stepping back into the spotlight with “Dirty Rosie,” a new single that feels less like a polite comeback and more like a mischievous wink from a woman who knows exactly how much cultural mileage she still carries. Released on May 13, 2026, the song serves as the lead single from her upcoming seventh studio album, Little Miss Twain, which is scheduled to arrive July 24 via Republic Nashville.
What makes “Dirty Rosie” immediately interesting is the way it appears to reconnect Twain with the cheeky, rebellious personality that helped make her a country-pop titan in the first place. Shania has never been merely a vocalist; she has always been a character-builder, a mood architect, a master of turning sass into melody. “Dirty Rosie” leans into that legacy with a title that already sounds like trouble in boots, lipstick on a gas-station mirror, and a story you probably should not tell your mother in full detail.
The single arrives ahead of Little Miss Twain, a project being framed as one of the most personal and roots-driven albums of her career. Twain has described the album as reflective of her teens, her upbringing, and the rock, R&B, Western, and twangy sounds that shaped her imagination before global fame transformed her life. That background gives “Dirty Rosie” extra weight. It is not just a new song; it is a doorway into a younger, rougher, more formative version of Shania—the girl before the diamond-certified albums, the Vegas stages, the arena lights, and the mythology.
There is also something very Shania about releasing a song that does not seem desperate to chase contemporary trends. Instead, “Dirty Rosie” appears to trust personality, attitude, and storytelling. In a pop-country climate often crowded with polished formulas, Twain’s return works because she does not need to pretend to be new. Her strength is that she sounds seasoned, self-aware, and still delightfully unserious when the moment calls for it. That balance has always been part of her magic: glamour without stiffness, confidence without coldness, playfulness without becoming shallow.
The rollout also comes with a lyric video rather than a full music video, featuring imagery of mountain and forest roads from inside an old truck—a fitting visual companion for a song tied to movement, memory, and rustic freedom. It subtly reinforces the larger Little Miss Twain concept: Shania revisiting where she came from, not with bitterness, but with a hard-earned sense of peace and authorship.
“Dirty Rosie” may not be trying to reinvent Shania Twain’s universe, but it does something more useful: it reopens it. It reminds listeners that her charm has always lived in the collision between country grit, pop instinct, and theatrical feminine swagger. At 60, Twain is not returning as a nostalgia act. She is returning as someone rummaging through her own past and finding sparks still hot enough to start a fire.

Shania Twain’s new single “Dirty Rosie” feels less like a comeback and more like a reminder of why she became one of the most magnetic personalities in country music in the first place. Released as the lead single from her upcoming seventh studio album Little Miss Twain, the song embraces the grit, swagger, and playful rebellion that defined much of her early appeal while adding the perspective of an artist who has fully grown into her legacy.
Built around a rough-edged country-rock groove, “Dirty Rosie” immediately separates itself from the polished, radio-tailored sound dominating much of modern pop-country. Instead of chasing trends, Twain leans into personality and atmosphere. The track stomps forward with dive-bar energy, mixing country, rock, and bluegrass textures into something that feels rustic, rowdy, and refreshingly unfiltered. Her voice carries a raspier tone than fans may expect, giving the song extra bite as she delivers its central warning: a lover may drive her crazy — and even drive her Mercedes — but “you can’t drive my truck.”
That lyric perfectly captures the spirit of the song. It is flirtatious, stubborn, humorous, and fiercely self-possessed all at once. Twain has always excelled at turning confidence into melody, and “Dirty Rosie” taps directly into the same charismatic swagger that powered many of her biggest hits in the ‘90s. Yet there is something deeper underneath the sass. The song feels tied to the autobiographical themes Twain has hinted will define Little Miss Twain as a whole.
Twain has described the upcoming album as a reflection on her teenage years, her roots, and the rock, R&B, and Western influences that shaped her imagination long before superstardom arrived. Growing up in rural Canada, she dreamed about a rugged Western lifestyle despite living in a world where snowmobiles mattered more than horses. That contrast gives “Dirty Rosie” an added layer of authenticity. The song is not just a playful anthem; it feels like Twain revisiting the rawer, scrappier version of herself that existed before arena tours, Las Vegas residencies, and worldwide fame transformed her into a global icon.
One of the most refreshing aspects of “Dirty Rosie” is its refusal to sound calculated. In an era where many veteran artists attempt to reinvent themselves through glossy production or forced modernity, Twain instead sounds relaxed, self-aware, and completely comfortable embracing who she has always been. The result is a track that feels both nostalgic and current without trying too hard to be either.
The accompanying lyric video quietly reinforces those themes. Featuring winding mountain roads and forest scenery viewed from inside an old truck, the visuals evoke movement, memory, and freedom — fitting imagery for a song rooted in reflection and identity. It complements the larger artistic direction Twain appears to be pursuing with Little Miss Twain: reconnecting with her beginnings while celebrating the woman she eventually became.
“Dirty Rosie” may not reinvent Shania Twain’s musical universe, but it accomplishes something more meaningful. It reopens it. The song reminds listeners that Twain’s greatest strength has never simply been catchy hooks or crossover appeal. Her magic lies in the collision of country grit, pop instinct, humor, femininity, and fearless attitude. At 60, she is not returning as a nostalgia act. She is returning as an artist confident enough to dig through her own history and still find sparks powerful enough to light the room.
These are glowing reviews compared to the rollout of NOW and Queen of Me. I’ll gladly be wrong here about the song. Hoping for more of these. Respect > Sales

Apart from this sub, I’ve been seeing primarily positive things about the song.
What's the meaning of tell there are 20 songs when the phisical versions have 12 or 13 songs and digital 15? As a fan i'm thinking in wait for a possible deluxe edition or wait at least 6 months or 1 year before buying it and just use the spotify edition till it's clear if there a deluxe or not.
They should have released both versions from the beginning.

This is a normal thing now sadly. Most artists release multiple variants
For once can she record a duet with someone relevant? The War & Treaty? Sorry, no one cares. Like, get Harry or Taylor or Sabrina on the record so you can get some streams and radio airplay and have a chance on the charts. Makes zero sense!
So agreee!!!!! I wonder if Noone wants to record with her based on sales... I wish it would happen though... we need to land a Taylor collaboration that is released...

What do you mean "someone relevant?" Not everything is about the charts and sometimes, artists just want to make music they want with who they want. The War & Treaty are very respected in the country music world so it makes complete sense to me why she would want to work with them. Shania is 60-years-old and the chances of her having a hit again is unlikely given the ageism in the industry. We should just be glad she is still releasing music to begin with because so many of her peers have disappeared from the limelight.

I agree. We don't care about the charts; it's not us who make the money, it's Shania. And collaborations with "big celebrities" would cost her too much. It's good that she focuses on quality. And it's great that she keeps releasing new music. As long as she can, it doesn't matter if she has hits or not. And I think she'll make an album of only collaborations one day, which will be aimed at selling well.

I understand all of that, and quality is always most important; however, as a fan, it would be great to see her have a hit without Mutt. Everyone attaches her success to her work with him, and I would like her to release something successful without him. A collab with a huge artist would help propel the album. That’s my opinion.

I like that she works with lesser known / newer artists. She knows what it’s like to be starting out in the industry! it’s exciting for those artists to work with her
I understand all of that, and quality is always most important; however, as a fan, it would be great to see her have a hit without Mutt. Everyone attaches her success to her work with him, and I would like her to release something successful without him. A collab with a huge artist would help propel the album. That’s my opinion.
