OK Gang.. The lovin is over

As you will note in my biography there are 2 camps when it comes to me. Having said that I think after a lovin weekend it is time to move to another level.. This is in no way trying to stir the pot. Having said that Tommy,Shania Fan, Walter(yet to come forward much yet) and I all now what pushs buttons and gets the fur flying. The 4 of us have been down this road many times(pretty heated to say the least). We have many new members which is totally great BUT in my opinion it is time to learn each other...What we are made of etc.
Having said that NOTHING gets the fur flying more than Shanias future plans. Some will say...Here goes Bob again... Causing trouble... My repsonse WRONG..This site will DIE if we just stick with the kissy kissy stuff.   HERE WE GO.... In love Shania.. She brought music back in my life. For that I will support he FOREVER..... BUT... I think it is ALL over... I do not say these words easily. WHY... Because what some of you do not know is this... Shania Fan who in my opinion is the HEART of Tommys, lives and breaths Shania. She knows what I think of her as a shania fan BUT she knows me and respects my opinions. Shania Fan like many do not want to hear this as others do not but I am me ,so I say it.. Shania in my opinion has the guts to walk away unlike so many others who just can not.. She loves Eja/mutt/her horses/her life... She has been gone a long time and the years are catching up to her. I really do not feel she has it in her to pretty much put all that aside for us. For that I totally repect her. I have gone on record as stating that I believe Shania in the next year will go on an interview tour STARTING in Canada and make the announcement that she is done. MANY believe I am wrong.. Some feel I am bang on.. Time will tell. I suppose all I ask is this.. If you think I am way off side..Challenge me... If I think you are wrong.. I will rebut... Having said that we can all do this without it becoming a NUTHOUSE.   Respectfully submitted... Bob

I am going to literally copy and paste exactly what I said at the OFC:

I can totally see where you're coming from. But I choose to look on the bright side and think positivley. All of her fans are waiting on the edge of their seats for a new album. We are all very anxious. But we just need to be patient. Maybe Shania isn't ready to come back yet. And in my opinion, that's absolutely ok. I understand she has a young son that needs her and she may not be ready to go out and promote an album. But, when Shania is ready, she'll come back. Whether it's in two months, or two years, I'll be here waiting. I have total faith in Shania, and I believe Shania will release her album when she's ready. I know it's hard to be patient, but it'll be worth it when Shania finally does release that VERY anticipated album of hers! I just can't wait!

I don't think Shania will ever reach the amount of success she had in the late
90's, that was her peak, for sure!  However, I don't think she's done with the music biz either.  UP! and GH did not sell what everyone thought they would.  They thought it would beat COO, it was no where close.  They still sold a TON of records but I doubt anything will ever beat the success of COO.
I know, for a fact, that Shania is working on her new cd right now.  She wants it out asap.  Whether it be '08 or '09, that is the question........confused

Hey Angie...I think we are on the same page somewhat... As far as a new CD. For whatever reasons I do not feel she is where she needs to be to release anytime soon. There has been much debate as to why by many as you know. I personally feel that she is not emotionally ready. I do not question your inside sources that state she is working on something but what does that really mean. Working on something and finishing something is totally different. As far as the success of any return that may happen I feel you are bang on.. For many reasons the glory days are over..  Free internet downloads will shut down any chance of huge sales alone... Angie,if there is one area that I will battle to the end on is this.. Do NOT expect a major world tour as we saw with Up. She ain't going to say see you later to Eja and mutt so she can tour the world. If she does release it will be a very cut back tour. My call Canada and US only. Many keep calling late 2008 for a CD..Why? They are basing their call on the old days... Nov release for Christmas sales followed up by a 2009 tour. This time I feel Shania will really do it her way. If she does release it will be when she is ready. Christmas sales do not mean much to her. If she tours again it will be when she wants... In the end I still feel there is a very good chance we will not see any of it though... Bob

She has been working on it since 2005 and I have quotes of hers.
I find it interesting that you slipped in 2009 gently easing the fans because you know she won't have it ready this year like she said.
There aren't any excuses at all. Dolly writes 50 songs a month.
are we to believe Shania is still writing after all these years and hasn't recorded anything yet.If that is the case then there is no way it will be ready this year.
Has she recorded anything?
Because if she hasn't then she has not been working on her cd seriously at all.
I don't think fans are that naive to fall for this garbage year after year.
So tell the fans, has Shania recorded any songs yet?
If she leaves it till 2009 that will be 7 years between cd's which will prove once and for all that she was neve interested in music and should just retire.

Wrong Bob, christmas sales do mean everything to her and the label. And trust me, that is the goal to get it out by christmas.
Don't try and tell me that Shania or her label don't care about sales.
Mutt and Shana only put out something if it will sell tons and be commercial and you can bet you bottom dollar they want this cd to sell alot.
Those who think otherwise are naive.
Did Shania come out with a redbook article just last month and lie to all her fans? That is what you are saying bob. Everthing you say goes against what Shania said just last month in Redbook.
None of use know the truth of when the album will be released, although some of some pretend to.
But mark my words, if Shania doesn't come out with a cd later this year after all the hype and all the interviews and all the anticipation and all the articles and all the years then she will have lost major credibility with not only the fans but the industry and her peers. The same peers who are out there touring and making music for their fans because it is their passion and they don't lie and mislead their fans.
Shania says she doesn't want to put pressure on herself lmao!!!!
Pressure is working 2 jobs and having 5 kids to support and not having enough to eat and living in the real world.
Pressure is not sitting on her butt making up stories why you can't put out a cd in 6 years.
That is an isulte to everyone when Shania says she doesn't want to put pressure on herself.
She must think some of her fans are really dumb people with the lame excuses she comes up with but the truth is some of her fans believe her.
So it is time to put up or just retire. Because people won't even care or ask for Shania music if 2009 comes around and she is still making up excuses.
People are losing interest by the day. But maybe that is what Shania wants, she wants her fans to get lost and not expect music and not expect it.
How sad that an artist with so many fans and loved worldwide would treat her fans in such a rude and dishonest way.

To be honest I think all these delays and lack of imformation has lost her alot of fans over here in England. Sad to say but in the UK to a lot of people she is seen as a flash in the pan. Even Up! never made the impact over here of COO. I think she still has a hardcore following that will stick by her, but if us hardcore fans don't know what is happening with her future plans then how will the other fans who don't have Internet access.

I'm sure she'll still have no problem selling out concerts over here but the radio play will be a problem for her. For some reason the media over here don't take her serious.

Yea but radio problem in pop is a problem for anyone over the age of 40 so that is no big deal.
As for your flash in the pan comment about the U.K. I highly disagree that most people think that. I see her and hear her songs played on U.K talent contest and 2 of her songs were the most request by wedding dj's in the U.K. in 2007. I see her name mentioned and referenced in many U.K. articles. Most people in the U.K,. think if her as a music icon and one of the best selling artists of alltime who sells out concerts and her music is loved.
Even her GH cd in 2004 sold lots in the U.K. and she did little promotion.
radio play and pop charts is reserved for the younger crowd in the U.K. and younger artists.
Shania is regarded as one of the best selling artists in the world when you ask people in the U.K. and I know since my brother is a lawyer there and I visited several times.

The problem shania has is that she just doesn't care about her perception or her music or her fans. She has totally lost real connection with her fans which of course hurts her fanbase

I think my flash in the pan comment was probably the wrong one. I think I was trying to say that she seemed to come from nowhere in 98-99 over here and then seemed to dissapear. Even now she is mainly known for the COO singles and they tend to be the ones that get played over here more then the Up! singles. You must remember that the WIM album was never released initially as country is seen as a stigma over here for some reason. I think Shania was a massive breath of fresh air at the time as people were sick of young manufactured pop stars. She appealed to an older audience who weren't been catered for.

The GH and Up both sold well and her concerts sold out as well over here. Don't forget that she sold 85,000 tickets for her Hyde Park gig too. No other country artist could do that.

Thats my point, she is a music icon and her next project will get huge hype because of her status as a huge star and her concerts will be huge and successful and her album will sell millions in the first 3 months.
But Shania has lost total connection with the industry and she doesn't kiss up to radio so it will be interesting to see how radio responds.Of course they will jump all over her first single but after that it depends on the music.
And I find the longer someone takes to come out with music, the worse it is.
I kind of laugh at how her fans defend her saying it takes a long time to make a master peice. LIke give me a break. Shania wrote and recorded TWIM album in 16 weeks and she also record COO very quickly after that which was one of the best pop or country albums in history.
Then she comes out with UP after 5 years, totally loses connection with radio and totally released the wrong singles.
Trust me, when she comes out with her new album, the critics and fans will be all over her saying," we waited 6 or 7 years for this?"
It doesn't matter how good the songs are. She needs to totally connect with radio again if she wants an album with staying power.
Taking so long and coming up with the most absurd excuses like she is still writing after 5 years lmao!!!! is only going to make people upset and not buy her music. If she is seriouly working on her album like she said way back in early 2007 then she should have it almost done by now.
So the longer it takes in my opinion the worse it will be.  Just because you sit on your butt and take 5 years to put out an album doesn't make it better than if  you actually work and put out an album in even 2 years.
So I expect Shania to get totally  hammered by critics and even fans and I think her fans may be let down by the final product.
Thats why I am losing interest in her new album. I have waited so long though all the hype, dishonestly and years and yet here we are in 2008 with the same garbage excuses. Many fans feel the way I do. Shania will be in for a suprise that many of her fans have moved on.
But she doesn't care just like she doesn't care about anything that she has done in her music career. I guess she sees no pride in her work and doesn't care what people think of her.

Hey Walter.... As I am sure you are well aware, human cloning is a real hot button issue. Based on your comments you must be a very strong believer in it.. We would all think exactly the same. As per your posts we would all want to write hundreds of songs per year, most of which become nothing. We would all want to race out of hospitals after major surgery and jump back into our carreer. We would all want to say... Look at me... I am a star, take my picture ,induct me PLEASE.

Walter.. Reality check... We are not all the same. Shania is her own person. You seem to be having trouble grasping reality here...   She loves her life, she is rich, she does not need to continue her career to be fulfilled..... The rest of you might not get this one but Walter will... Walt... If Sid the kid decides to pack it in after 5 years in the league that is his right... Does not matter about how anyone else feels. It is his choice... Would you be going......What,after 5 years.. What a bum.. Gordie Howe played until 50ish.... Same thing Walter..... All I ask her to do is announce it and stop doing those(not tip the hat) too much interviews. Again Walter... Her rules.. Not yours... Get used to it.

Bob, reality check to you too. If you have read carefully what I have been saying then you would understand.
Shania could do whatever she wants and retire right now and tell everyone the truth if she wants.
My point is that she is dishonest and sometimes down right lies to the fans.
That is my biggest beef.
Of course she could quit and sit on her butt and do nothing forever if she wants to, it is her life.
But she chose this career, she said music is her passion and therefore her fans deserve an honest answer.
I could accept her saying I don't want to make music anymore and I want to sit spend my millions of dollars and have fun.It would be odd for her to say that because she said music is her passion and stated last month that she wants to continue writing and recording music that matters, but I could live with that choice.
The problem we have here is that Shania comes out looking dishonest and doesn't tell the truth. And at the very least her fans deserve the truth and not her being evasive or lying to us.
So all your points go in the garbage because Shania did an interview just last month contradicting everything you have said.
Bottom line is we want the truth and then her fans can move on to other artists who love music and it is their passion and they are honest to their fans.
Nothing but the truth, thats all we ask for.
So you need to read more carefully in what I am saying.

Walter... Just the facts.. Stop the jitter... I think your problem like alot is  reading these dam articles and NOT reading between the lines... It is SO easy to fool people, especially those who read into things whatever they want.. Because you might want a 2008 CD you try to find that in her words.. Throwing a curve is so easy.... Example... Hey Walter... See you later.. Heading off to Pizza hut. One hour later we run into each other at the rink... Hey Walter..Man am I starved... How can you be starved..You just said you were going to Pizza Hut for supper... I didn't say supper. I went for a cold beer.    You read something into my statement  that was never said.... Anybody tell me where in any interview Shania says.... I am writing music to record on a CD of MINE to release in 2008.  Even IF she says in an interview .. I am working on new music to be released in 2008 for a CD did she say HER CD or could she be working on music for a new CD for someone else... Is she lying.. NO... Is she been somewhat evasive YES..... Welcome to the real world walter.. It goes on every day in life... So until she decides what she wants to do she will continue to be somewhat evasive and drive you nuts.   ANYHOW... Getting board on this issue... Will have something NEW....soon... Bob

No Bob , that is where you are wrong again. I expect an artist to not be evasive or misleading.
Lets wait a couple months and see if we get any good news from Shania's camp or more of a let down.
