I was hoping it would be Jason. Next week should be good. It will be country music and the mentor is the one and only Dolly Parton. I really like Dolly and I am sure she will do right by the contestants. Kristy Lee might have another good week as she is a country music fan. I remember Bob you really like Brooke. I really like Brooke too as well as Michael Johns (the Australian). I think though the way things are going the winner may end up being David Cooke. He is obviously gifted (as are most of them) but without certainty Mr. Cooke will end up with a record deal. I guess we will have to wait and see now how it goes. I was wondering if any of you have favorites.
Yes... I watch it every week but I no longer have a viewpoint as to who is any good.. Who knows...Maybe one contestant was rude to another contestant or got caught having a beer underage,or dropped out of school early, or ran away from home, or disagrees on abortion law and wants it changed,or disagrees with death penalty and say it out loud, or is just a terrible person but knows how to turn on the charm.... So because of this I can not just say I really like anyone on the show... At least not on this site.... Bob...... PS.... Again Lulu...This is a great posting.. I mean it... Bob, I don't understand your post. I am sorry if I offended you in anyway. I am also sorry you feel you cannot state your pov on who you hope will win AI. We should be able to come here and speak freely of who we like and who we don't like. That's what this is its a message board where we get to discuss music.
Hey Lulu... I will start by saying you are right that we should feel free to come here and discuss artists other than Shania but I no longer will.. I am VERY passionate about my music. Now I am a big boy, but why should I continue to contribute to this site with repect to other artists that I love if every single time I am going to get punched out.. Free speech and speaking your mind is fine but when it becomes cruel..well that is something else.... I read your message followed up by C.O.O about your 2 concerts... Lulu.. I would NEVER come back and say that I didn't care for Rascal(which I don't) because I can tell how excited you are. That would be mean spirited and just raining on your parade. But lets go one step farther... What if I came back saying they are a joke with no talent, are overated,terrible person(s), and have never derserved one single award.. Well in my opinion that would be a pretty low blow reply when it was easy to hear your excitement as well as C.O.O with reguard to the concert..
Having said that you pretty much chose(along with 2nd) to do that to me the other night on the Natalie issue. She is right up there with Shania with ME.. Talent wise...the whole thing.. She is a totally different package than Shania.. I doubt if anyone on this site knows really anything about the REAL Natalie Maines,... here thoughts, her beliefs, her loyalty, passion for COUNTRY music...(NOTE COUNTRY) what she gives back to people all over the world other than music,the songs she writes about her family and children.. To top it off she has GUTS.. She will state her opinions on topics that are SO HOT that very few artists would EVER touch. WHY?..Cause she shoots straight and if it hurts sales...TOO BAD..Also Lulu...She speaks for all 3 of these great talented woman. So anyhow if you read my SIMPLE posting March 25 7:17pm (Shania and radio play) I think it was obvious that I was a super Chicks fan. Unlike how I chose to handle your Rascall situation ,you as well as 2nd, chose not only to say you didn't care for her music but go MUCH forever... Well let me tell you BOTH something about me... Go after Shania...Look out....Go after Natalie...Look out...I LOVE them both....Shania has her faults(understatement of the year) and so does Natalie. BUT...In my books leave them alone.. In closing the natalie thing was just the final straw... I have been getting pounded on this site with EVERY artist that I support....NO LONGER...
I believe the Chicks replaced their original singer with Natalie who really wasn't too country. If Shania was to behave and act like Natalie, I'd be done with her too. It's uncalled for attitude. I can see it in Natalie's eyes, her body language, and I know how she feels about Shania. If Shania was to give her peers that sort of gesture, I'd be disappointed. If Shania was to go on the Howard Stern show and talk about how she gets wet as a tasty cake or whatever disgusting lingo Natalie uses I'd be disappointed.
I've already addressed my concern of Shania doing the extra scenes from Huckabee's and her 2005 CMT Award opening piece, as well as the IANQ video moment. It's still child's play compared to Natalie. I don't mind the other two Chicks, but Natalie is who she is and I don't follow suit with that.
I apology Bob for this, but as passionate as you are, so am I when something doesn't sit well with me. I admire Shania for the person she is, she suits my likes. Someone has to represent decency and humbleness. I don't support with my money and time those who are against my cause. I just don't support anyone for the sole reason of talent.
Of course music and this whole subject is subjective, and everyone has their own code of conduct, lifestyle, and demeanor. So basically it's to each their own. That's the bottom line.
to 2nd amendment, I agree that those things you mentioned were out of character for Shania, to me she can be compared to Audrey Hepburn with her grace and charm. She is talented and does not have to pretend to curse or flip her boobs in her video, she's better than that. So far no one has had the influence she has had on country music. She is very missed by all of her fans.

Yes. I have to agree with the above posts as well. What I love most of Shania is how she handles herself with great dignity. I have never heard her say anything bad about anyone else. Even when she was attacked by people she did not respond to them . She is above all that. What it comes down to is the fact that she really is a decent person who handles herself with great dignity and grace.
