Hi Folks! We have to remember Shania, Elton, and Rod are booked when Celine takes time off. Celine is scheduled first. She's the one with the long term contract and has been there since the Colisseum opened. Now you have to work the other entertainers around their schedules. Elton and Rod still do mini tours throughout the year (check Ticketmaster). They usually play Vegas either right before they start a tour or at the end of a tour. Also, I'm positive Caesar's want Shania at the beginning of December for the rodeo crowd. The rodeo finals are in Vegas every year. Best regards to everyone.

Britney Spears Is Heading To Vegas THIS Week - And Seeing Shania Twain's Show While She's There!

So there's a little bad news regarding Britney Spears' much-rumored, super-anticipated Las Vegas residency!

But don't worry! There's also VERY good, VERY AWESOME news to balance it out!

We'll hit you with the bad, which really is just more of a bummer!

Robin Leach lied to us! As we all know by now, the pop sensation was too busy spending time with her boys and rumored new beau David Lucado to make formal announcements about the alleged plans to perform at PH Live at Planet Hollywood for an extended run!

But don't fret, folks!

According to new reports, she WILL be in Sin City at some point toward the end of the week, to get a walk-through of her venue, most likely formally announce the residency (the deal is apparently STILL not yet 100% finalized) and most exciting of all…take in a show, as pretty much everyone visiting the town does!

And whose act does she plan to enjoy?!

Why, Shania Twain and her Still The One show at The Colosseum inside Caesar’s Palace!

AH-MAY-ZING!

We think checking out a pro at work, who's been there for a while and knows the ropes, will be a FANTASTIC way for our Brit Brit to conceptualize what she wants to accomplish with her residency and see what kind of options she has for the logistics and aesthetic choices!

Here's hoping she'll get to sneak backstage and say hello to Shania afterwards!

Who knows? These two could even end up becoming bestiez during their time in the desert together!

Shania taped a message during her Winter break in Canada to congratulate The Colosseum at Caesars Palace's 10th anniveresary. Shania's segment begins at the 2 minute 45 seconds mark.

To mark the 10-year milestone of The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, Celine Dion incorporated a tribute to The Colosseum in her March 16, 2013 show. The video contains messages from current resident artists Shania Twain, Elton John, Rod Stewart, Jerry Seinfeld and of course Celine. The taped messages, combined with photos and videos from unforgettable moments throughout the theatre's history, made evident the impact the theatre has had on not only music fans across the world, but also the performers that call the building home.

Shania Twain adds motorcycle, videos to ‘Still the One’ at Caesars Palace

It’s no secret that superstar Shania Twain adores her horses and loves the thrill of high-speed motorcycles. The Canadian singer flew in early over the weekend to get reacquainted with the horses that appear in her resident headliner show “Still the One” at The Colosseum in Caesars Palace.

But she also brought with her a new stunning bike that has been added to the show that began its second run of dates Tuesday night. Shania, who is here through June , also has new leather motorcycle outfits from Robin’s Jean (nothing to do with me!), which also will be featured in the sequel to “Sin City.”

Owner Robin Chretien has worked with graphic designs, metal waves, washes, treatments and tailoring of jackets, pants, skirts and leggings for such stars as Mick Jagger, Steven Tyler, Ozzy Osbourne, Christina Aguilera, a pre-pregnant Kim Kardashian and now Shania. Shania also has added new videos to the production, which have dazzled audiences in its first two nights.

Meantime, racecar driver Danica Patrick, who turns 31 on Monday, started her birthday celebration Wednesday night here with boyfriend Ricky Stenhouse Jr. at Shania’s concert. She sent out photos on Twitter of her blowing out candles on a birthday cake, as well as other photos from the evening. The couple, who have been dating since January, are at the NASCAR race this Sunday in California.

Danica Patrick will turn 31 on March 25 but she apparently has already started celebrating.

Patrick tweeted photos Thursday of her and boyfriend Ricky Stenhouse Jr. celebrating at the Shania Twain concert at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

Her tweet included photos of her blowing out candles on a birthday cake, as well as other photos from the evening.

Patrick and Stenhouse announced they were dating in January and were a hot topic during Speedweeks at Daytona, where Patrick made history by winning the pole for the Daytona 500 and finishing eighth in the race.

Patrick has struggled since, finishing 39th, 33rd and 28th in her last three races, while Stenhouse has run respectably. Both are rookie drivers and Stenhouse currently is leading the rookie standings with four top-20 finishes. He is 11th in points while Patrick is 28th.

The Sprint Cup Series shifts to California this weekend for Sunday’s Auto Club 400. Patrick will turn 31 the following day.

How Canada saved Las Vegas

Las Vegas, 2003. A city in need of rescuing.

After 33 years of non-stop prosperity, during which the number of visitors each year grew to a high of 35 million in 2000 from a low of 6.8 million in 1970, the people had stopped coming.

In a town used to tourism growth of 10 to 20 per cent a year, the freeze was causing panic in the hearts and the pocketbooks of the moguls behind the half dozen major new hotels under construction, and Michelin-star chefs opening new restaurants.

Sin City needed saving. Enter the Canadians: the formidable trifecta of Celine Dion, Cirque du Soleil and Shania Twain.

March 25 marked the 10th anniversary of the opening of The Colosseum, the 4,000-seat flagship theatre in Caesars Palace built especially for Dion. It is on that stage that the Quebec native kick-started Vegas’ turnaround, bringing the people back who had stopped coming after 9/11, but also because of the entertainment.

Back then there was a growing sense among the city’s movers and shakers that the entertainment scene had become “been there, done that.” Vegas is known as much for its good entertainment as its gambling. Tourists expect star-studded, spectacular shows.

In early 2003, there were only two Cirque du Soleil shows in operation (Mystere and O). The biggest showroom act belonged to Siegfried and Roy, the Teutonic lion tamers whose show was in its 13th year (it would close later that year when one the show’s tigers mauled Roy.)

Something new was needed. Something big. A performer whose appeal cut across all borders.

Celine Dion.

When Caesars Palace announced its plans, counting on Dion to fill 4,000 seats at every performance, the skeptics went wild. Even Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra, at the peaks of their fame, couldn’t generate audiences like that.

But the naysayers were wrong. Dion opened to a tremendous advance sale and the proposed two-year run soon stretched to five. In the end, her show, A New Day, played 700 performances to more than three million spectators for a gross in excess of $400 million (U.S.). (Her second show, Celine, opened at The Colosseum in 2011 and is continuing to break box office records.)

It now all sounds triumphant, but Dion recently told the Toronto Star by email that the epic opening night was nearly a fiasco.

“Somehow, during a costume change, my shoes went missing. It was like; do I leave the audience waiting, or do go out in my bare feet? You can’t keep the people waiting, especially on opening night, so I started the song shoeless . . . and just as I was starting to sing, my brother Michel came on stage with the missing shoes! I think that moment set the tone for every show since then. We’re ‘live’ and that means no show is ever exactly the same as another.”

While Dion was working her magic, Montreal’s Cirque du Soleil started its campaign of expansion, opening six new shows in 10 years, all of them (with the exception of the ill-fated Viva Elvis!) successful and still running at specially-built theatres at major hotels throughout the city.

Their X-rated Zumanity, Robert Lepage’s epic martial arts saga, Ka, and The Beatles tribute, Love, all rang the bell at the box office, resulting in more than 40 million tickets to Cirque shows being sold in the last decade, said Cara Abrahams, the director of public relations for Cirque’s resident shows.

Jordan Fiksenbaum, vice-president of marketing and public relations for Cirque’s resident shows in North America, attributes the sudden burst of activity to a new partnership with MGM Resorts International.

Their desire, he said, to add new theatres and work with us “gave us the creative challenge and provided up an opportunity to expand at just the right time.”

Cirque has succeeded in Vegas because its shows take the “audience on a journey unlike any other live entertainment show,” Fiksenbaum said.

“The uniqueness and quality of each production is what our customers return for, year after year.”

The hat-trick in the Canadian Vegas game goes to Timmins, Ont., native Shania Twain, who opened her residency at The Colosseum in December. She is sharing top-billing with other big name acts while Celine is on a break until September.

John Meglen, the president and co-CEO of Concerts West/AEG Live, is the force behind both Dion and Twain’s appearances in Vegas. He calls Twain’s impact so far “tremendous.”

“She sold out her first two batches of shows totally and the advance for the future is great,” Meglen said. “She’s got an intimacy and a vulnerability that makes you forget you’re seeing her in a 4,000-seat venue.”

Along with the Canadian talent influx, Meglen also gives credit for the city’s turnaround to influences such as master hotel-meister Steve Wynn, who placed a strong quality imprint on his signatures hotels like the Bellagio and Wynn Las Vegas, while making “the town got hip again.”

The tourism count for 2012 came in just under 40 million visitors, an increase of 15 per cent since Dion and her Canuck cohorts raised the entertainment bar so high.

Sure, what happens in Vegas may still stay in Vegas, but the chances are that it probably started in Canada.

A “visibly upset and pissed off” Britney Spears storms out of Shania Twain’s Vegas show after being told she couldn’t use her cell phone

Britney Spears attended Shania Twain’s show at the Colosseum inside Caesars Palace this evening and was even supposed to be a special guest of the country singer, but it turns out the Femme Fatale’s stay was shortlived.

BreatheHeavy.com is reporting that Britney left the show after being told by security that she wasn’t allowed to use her cell phone while inside the building.

A fan of Twain’s who was in attendance at the show tell us exclusively that Spears was “visibly upset and pissed off,” and was “cursing up a storm” when she left.

Spears is currently in Las Vegas to announce her own residency, a deal that was complete back in January.

Celine Dion can keep a secret. Can she ever. Turns out she agreed to a five-year contract extension at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace two years ago, not long after starting her latest three-year deal. The Journal de Montreal reported this week she’ll be at The Colosseum until 2019. It was reported here on Aug. 5 that she had committed to a “very long-term extension” at Caesars Palace, “longer than her previous deals.”
