Shania Twain, the country pop singer that brought us hits like "Man! I feel Like a Woman!” and “That Don’t Impress Me Much,” has released her newest single.
Titled “Today (Is Your Day),” the song sounds like something Colbie Caillat would sing—it’s uplifting, encouraging and upbeat. However, the repetition throughout the 3-minute song is a little overwhelming.
Twain repeats, “Today is your day/ And nothing can stand in your way” a little too much and it gets old rather quickly. Can’t we see some variation every now and then?
While the instrumental background is impressive, it still doesn’t possess the Twain that is so prominent in the rest of her songs. There are no powerful punches in “Today (Is Your Day)” and the chorus is lacking the hook that keeps the 45-year-old singer’s fans coming back for more.
