- Demi Lovato's number one in 40 countries (she only got 4)
- Her album and songs being leaked over the world wide web
- Horrible sales and promotion for Today Is Your Day / Endless Love (I did DVR Why Not? and watched it)

It's called respect! She only got the CMT Award in 2016 because of her album and material period. They couldn't even book Taylor or any big name artist to do the tribute. Doesn't anyone want to ask that?

Yes, many of the artists of today have come out with love and support for her but where has that done? Wouldn't the album sales for NOW been better?

If she was truly respected, loved and adored with all genre's of music the award nominations would be something. Faith Hill got a boot load with "Breathe" with the Grammies.
It's Miranda Lambert this, Taylor Swift that, Carrie Underwood this, Reba that...

She should have gotten Album of the Year in 1998. What has Lauren Hill produced after her "one" album? Lauren Hill is or was in jail after that.

Has she been taken seriously by CMA's and ACM's? NO! She was not even invited to celebrate Country Music with the single "Forever Country" Where all the country music artist were on during the 50th anniversary of the CMA's.

Has she been asked to sing at the Grand Ole Opry? NO!

Has she been inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame NO!

Has CMT done a Crossroad episode where all the other Country Artist has done with other artists? NO!

Just asking some serious question that we all been trying to ask. Let's be honest and let's have a serious conversation. Life is about joy and life is about pain. We can't walk away from these facts. We only got the will to address them now and to think about the future. There has been a lot of pain. Just saying...

Here I go again. But a lot of things you call 'facts' are assumptions. Who says she didn't get invited to these award shows? Only the organisation and her team know if there was an invite. The lip-syncing and 'technical' error argument is also getting old. She's lipsyncing every now and then since 90s, couldn't care less. She did chart #1 in the Billboard chart. And as of any official chart Demi Lovato has ZERO #1s with her latest album (check her wiki for example). And yes on itunes she's not doing great (anymore), but most artists her age don't do that well with new material (Celine, Elton, Mariah, Madonna). Enjoy what you will see and hear and whatever the album or its songs will still achieve we should celebrate.

Demi was #1 with her latest album in 40 countries while Shania's Now was #1 in only 4. Those are facts and a tough pill to swallow just like Pink's new album numbers and also the upcoming Kelly Clarkson, Slim Shady plus Ms. Swift. If she is an icon and such a legend which she is then why don't the numbers talk? Jill Scott, Meghan Traitor, and Kelsea B did a tribute to Shania, Why couldn't they grab Pink, Taylor, and Rihanna (Carrie could have joined in) or some big named headliners? Knowing the fact that these newcomers were paying tribute with respects but it seems that last years CMT Award Show has a lot of good, shine but not enough momentum. I know the direction, image, and presentation at CMT was going for. Everytime Shania releases something, does something or appears. It seems there is not this big huge momentum behind it which makes it all apparent in the numbers we see when the album came out plus also the Greatest Hits album came back for a hot minute. They only had a week or so for Dancing With The Stars. It seems that the drip, drip approach for her comeback was ok but not good enough because look who is performing with Kelsea B on the CMA's REBA NOT SHANIA!!! So what does that say? Both could have sung their new singles together or did something out of this world but NOPE! These are strong facts that many on here have posted and others have posted facts plus reasonable plus very solid questions. I applaud those who begin to question, stand up and try to make thing better. Trust me I listen to the whole album when I am doing my chores, working out and just living life but I know her management has pre-booked big huge performance like the TODAY show with the Summer Concert Series.

@divadewdhote: Damn, you jumped ship fast. Calm down, go grab an avocado toast and chill out. Some of us honestly don’t care at all about anything you’re saying. Also, concise writing. Try it.

oh man !! you need some serious help. First of all you are delusional if you think Shania wasn't invited to CMA's to perform lol lol if she doesn't perform it is because she and only she chose not to. Don't get yourself worked up about something that does not impact your life. And you seriously need a reality check!! Shania is a 52 year-old woman in the music industry. It doesn't matter that she is an icon or if the song is good!!!! She will be snubbed at country radio anyway and radio  is what drives sales after the first week. i  think you need to seriously relax, shania can do as she pleases and will always be an icon. Don't think she is shedding a tear right now like you seem to be.

New Album

@dewi I can't believe I'm still arguing with you. As again I think your assuming things. Where do you find information on demi being nr 1 in 40 countries??? She had 0 nr 1's with the album. Maybe she was #1 on itunes for a day or 3 but the iTunes is NOT an official chart. It's a live update on the most downloaded album or songs of that moment. And I think this is just one of the points which I would argue about, but I have better things to do...

Shania said 20 plus years ago and I have read this. "You can't have a happy face without a happy heart" along those lines. I am a die-hard Shania fan and I just give a ****! Sorry but not sorry for caring about everything in today's world and what is currently happening with the music industry. Don't give me any tude about my compassion or thoughts. My heart is not happy and not liking what is going on. Everyone else complains, whines and tries to think of something that could of work. Don't tell me to relax when the numbers do not lie.

Just a reminder this is a Shania fans board.  Diva I have been with you on many different Shania boards over the years and I have to say you are a bit quick to make judgement and place blame. It seems a lot of fans have lost sight of what is happening here- a new Shania album we have all been dying for, for years.  Not to mention tons of social media updates, TV appearances, and a look inside her life we never got to see with past albums.  The charts are one small part of releasing an album and even smaller if you've had monumental success like Shania has.  I just want to say how thankful I am for a very raw, original, and 100% Shania album.  Les not compare her to someone who is less than half her age with less than a 1/4 of the music experience and success that Shania has had.

Don't be a hypocrite now. Some of us don't care what you have to say either and don't treat me like I am a snowflake. Read what I posted before with HumbleKevy comment. Everyone else and their mother can sit here bitch, moan, complain etc and I am getting heat for at least thinking some positive. Life is about pain. The pain I am suffering is the reality of what has happened all year long with the chooses and the direction her management took. Personally and professionally I have worked in politics for 24 years and I know how things work. Facts are facts, numbers do not lie and sometimes covering up things will only make it worst. We as fans were all excited about new material and then after reading the comments and post on here, everyone had their own thoughts and own suggestion which is the best thing because we live in a free society where people's voices matter. Everyone was bitching about the singles, country radio and pretty much what I have posted. Do not think for one second your thoughts are not valued or appreciated either. We all care, love, support and want the best for Shania. It's like a political campaign and a popularity contest with Billboards and Itunes. Who is popular etc. So we come to today with everything that is happening. All I did was post reality, post hard hitting facts and post suggestions. Oh, by the way, the connection I have with her like many others has empowered me and giving me hope throughout the years. I treasure her story and how she became who she is very serious because like others on here we can relate in so many ways. Coming out was one of the hardest things to do and Man I Feel Like A Women was my coming out anthem. I could have picked something stereotypical like Madonna, Cher, Babs or Bette but her girl power anthem spoke to me and on October 11th National Coming Out Day I blast that song all day because it gives me a sense a pride and knowing life is about to get good for me regardless. Thank you for your concern.

Once again. This is about itunes LIVE updates. No actual official charts positions (no nr 1's there). And a fan twiter account isnot very reliable is it. Also the google search top confirms the same thing I was telling the whole time:

But a nr 1 on Itunes doesn't mean anything if physical sales don't follow and vice versa. But enough said. Let's focus on more useful and positive things.

Shania's new album NOW falls 8 spots to No. 74 in its fourth week on the Billboard 200 chart. The album falls 1 spot to No. 10 in its fourth week on the Billboard Top Country Albums chartNOW also falls 2 spots to No. 9 in its fourth week on the Billboard Canadian Albums chart. Meanwhile, "Life's About To Get Good" holds at No. 20 in its thirteenth week on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart

The only thing positive is LATGG is holding strong at number 20. The rest are facts and numbers do not lie. Regardless. It will go down like this. 1, 5, 10 or "15" years from NOW the headlines, the facts and moment would be Demi's new album beat Shania's long-awaited new one on ITUNES which was or is the way we watched the matrix and spectrum on music. It will only show she got number one for one week on 4 official charts which are fine but still. After all the promotion and marketing in the past several weeks, the confusion over which single is going to be the next single and the appearances it keeps failing and it's not going up! Do you see anything wrong with this and don't you think we as fans who have been there for it all be a little disappointed and upset at her management or do something about it. Celine, Cher, Madonna and those fans who artist are in there 50's do something about it. I truly think being away from the spotlight and away from mainstream music industry caused most of this. Even though the journey for 15 years was heartbreaking, headache, painful and inspirational but we thought that power would make this comeback a huge success. Just expressing some thoughts and other things. It's Halloween and its time to rock out with the trick or treaters! Happy Halloween!

Honestly the only thing I think you will see in 5, 10, 15 years is how you ruined the excitement of new Shania material for yourself and for others...

I don't understand why you are getting so worked up about all of this.

The album is awesome, I already have great new memories with the new songs, we are seeing a ton more of her- isn't that what we all wanted anyway?

This isn't a political race in Pennsylvania Diva, it's a fans board to enjoy the successful of our icon.

I have been thinking, once Shania goes back out on tour and meets the fans, do you think it's possible that her album could potentially go gold or platinum in the US?

@exoticpersonage Exactly! I’m roadtripping through Spain with a friend right now and we listened to Home Now like 20 times today while on a 5 hour drive. We’re having a blast, but we miss NYC and that song just made us home sick in the sweetest way. I absolutely adore the new album. I could careless about the people who are missing out.

New Album "NOW" September 29, singles, interviews, etc. (Part 3)

Shania Twain is “Still The One”

By Michael Adams | The Highland Cavalier | November 1, 2017

“Life’s About To Get Good” again for Shania Twain with her newly released album titled “Now”, her first album in fifteen years.

“Now” reached number one on the Billboard Top 200’s list within its debut week and is Twain’s second number one album since “Up!” was released back in 2002.

Twain’s absence from the music industry wasn’t by choice. At the height of her career during her 2003-2004 Up! Tour (which included over 100 shows around the world) she was diagnosed with Lyme’s disease.

Since her initial diagnosis, Twain sought treatment through vocal training and speech therapy and was ready for her comeback with her first single in fifteen years, “Life’s About To Get Good” which was released on June 15 along with the “Now” album announcement.

Bundling album and ticket sales for her 2018 NOW World Tour rocketed “Now” up to the number one spot upon its release before its steady decline to number twenty-nine in its second week.

Even with the chart decline, this killer comeback country queen isn’t going anywhere anytime soon and, with a sixteen-song tracklist, it’s clear to see why.

Not only is this her first album in over a decade and a half, but all of the songs were written and recorded solely by Twain which adds a sense of purity and sincerity of the struggles she’s faced since leaving the stage.

You can purchase tickets to the 2018 NOW World Tour at http://shaniatwaintickets.com/.

“Now” is available for purchase on most media outlets, streaming services, and hardcopies can be bought online or at your local music retailer.

Shania Twain: I'm inspired by the fact that a light is being turned on sexual harassment in a big way

Back with her first full-length album since 2002, singer Shania Twain tells Kerri-Ann Roper why her new record is not a divorce album and why she's glad that women are finally speaking out about sexual harassment

By Kerri-Ann Roper | Belfast Telegraph - Ireland | November 2, 2017

It's not easy returning to something after 15 years, especially when that certain something is a very successful music career. There would be so many reasons to run in the opposite direction: new, younger artists dominating the charts, a different music landscape, fans who can praise or tear you down on social media in an instant.

If you're Shania Twain, though, you return in style and you make cementing your place as the queen of country-pop look effortless.

Canadian-born Twain (52) returned this year with a new album - her first full-length one in 15 years - titled NOW.

The 16-track record hit number one on the UK album charts shortly after its release, as if Twain had never been away.

But she has been and her return is more than just a comeback - it's a victory over major life obstacles like thinking she would never sing again and a divorce from her husband of many years.

"It's a big undertaking to put another album out," she says matter-of-factly over the telephone.

"Especially because I wrote all the music alone, which was another huge commitment and responsibility, so that was a bit nerve-racking. But now that it's finished, I'm relieved and excited."

A few weeks before our call, I meet her in the flesh at a listening session for the album.

In my head I can see her in her 1999 music video for her hit song Man! I Feel Like A Woman, peeking out from under her top hat and saying confidently: "Let's go, girls!"

Coincidentally, this month, the album that song hailed from - her third studio album, titled Come On Over - celebrates its 20th anniversary.

Twain is warm and understated in person - and you can sense a quiet confidence brimming under the surface as she talks about her music.

"Just getting to the point where I would even be able to make a record, record the voice, that was the scariest part - and committing myself to writing it alone," she explains.

"All of that period of just getting started was the most difficult part, the scariest part."

When we talk again a few weeks later, this time on the telephone, she's completed one "scary" mission - putting her music out there.

There's a very catchy tune called Life's About To Get Good on the new record, and I wonder if she ever considered that as a title. She explains her choice of NOW: "NOW really is more all-encompassing of the whole, of where I am. Since I haven't had an album in so long and fans have been waiting so many years, it was more of a statement to say that is who I was - I was someone 15 years ago and I'm a different person now.

"And also I'd had a lot of vocal problems. That's the main reason why I wasn't able to make albums prior to now. The last 15 years have been a long transition to now."

She's referencing a struggle with Lyme disease and nearly losing her voice for good. She talks openly about the terrifying ordeal, which threatened to end her career in music.

"I lost my voice and it was the total use of my voice," Shania says.

"It was terrible and so for seven years I really just believed I would never even know what was wrong with it. It was very scary and very sad.

"Obviously, you know, I felt like I'd lost one of the great joys of my life.

"It was very long and painful. The first seven years were just really a mystery of what was wrong with it, so that was terrifying, and then the last seven years have been all about the rehabilitation and hard work."

Her voice aside, there was also her divorce from her producer husband Robert 'Mutt' Lange following 15 years of marriage after he had an affair with her best friend.

Twain is very clear, though, when I ask her if this is in any way a divorce album.

She replies: "Well, I would describe this as a transition album. I went through a very long transitional phase of recovering from a lot of things, reflecting on my whole life and recovering my voice.

"All of that rehabilitation and just starting life over after divorce ... so it's definitely not a divorce album. There's just way too much that's happened over the last 16 years.

"It's more about a much longer phase in my life than just the divorce period, and it's also helped put things in perspective.

"There are so many more things in my life of importance and that's why there's a lot of positivity in the album as well. There's a lot of optimism.

"I touch on the dark side and also on coming out of the dark side, coming out the other end."

And she's right.

The album is dangerously catchy and there are a few of the songs - anthems like Swingin' With My Eyes Closed - that you can sense will be played on repeat.

Twain is a five-time Grammy award winner and has sold more than 75 million albums worldwide.

Last year she ranked ninth on the Forbes Highest Paid Women in Music list, with a rumoured fortune of around £20.7m ($27.5m), just a position above other big-hitters such as Celine Dion.

Before her recent return to the studio, she performed regularly as part of a residency in Las Vegas.

Given the long break from making new music, fans won't be disappointed with her new album - it's just as vibey and catchy as some of her previous hits.

"I mean I really do hope that it inspires people. This album still has all the optimism that my other music has, but there is more of a contrast between reality and how difficult life can really be and also how great it feels to survive those times," she says.

Around the time I'm talking to her, the film industry is reeling from sexual harassment claims being made against movie mogul Harvey Weinstein, who has denied all allegations of non-consensual sex.

Rose McGowan, Angelina Jolie, Gwyneth Paltrow and Cara Delevingne are among the high-profile women who have made claims about his behaviour towards them.

"I'm inspired by the fact that this light is being finally turned on and in a really big way. I think culturally for the kids growing up right now in this time, maybe they will be liberated from this, from what was considered more of the norm," Twain says.

"The winds of change are here and I'm excited about it. It's a dark, unfortunate thing to be going through for the women that are having to go back through their pasts and deal with all of this in the Press. It's taken courage, but it is such a fantastic exposure that is so beyond necessary, so I'm inspired by what is going on right now.

"I hope we just keep moving forward and we never stop highlighting that, so that our kids grow up with a different norm."

  • Shania Twain will tour the UK next year and her new album NOW is released through Virgin EMI

Why do I feel like Hillary Clinton right now? First and foremost this is an attack on a chat forum member and it should be tolerated. You speak about being positive, productive and proactive. Then with all the respect, love and kindness in the world be about it. Are you sure your practice the message, the vibe and her lesson she has brought to the world with her talent and wisdom? Secondly, why don't you read the entire post again to answer your own questions and concerns? There is a timeline in the posting about the past, the present, and the future.  How did I ruin anything with the numbers being posted about the official Billboard charts and Itunes? There has to be a no band-aid approach to life.  How did I ruin anything because this is free speech and my first amendment right to post what I think and feel with the respects you have the right to post what you say, think and feel. More constructive conversation and compromises needs to be an under lying rule. Why am I so worked up hmm that is quite simple my fellow Shania Twain FAN! That is plain and simple in anyone books and any which way you approach. For the love of all things Shania, how many different fan experience and base each artist has? I too would love to sit back, worry less and to enjoy the fact the life is about to get good! Well, I'll a monkey's uncle with your third line. That brings me to thy third thought. WE AGREE ON THAT! When you work in the music industry there are so many different words to describe what the professionals are doing. It is a race! NOW these days things do have to be pc and not pc but majority of life is pc. We have to take the LEAD from Shania Twain herself.  It's a fan forum website to enjoy not just success but haven't you learn nothing from NOW. Life is about joy and life is about pain.  We just can't be all roses, rainbows, and unicorns now can we? We can but some reality and honesty have its place.  I do apologize Tommy and fans but all I do is just care!

Production Tips with Jake Gosling

Jake produced "Light Of My Life," "Poor Me," "Where Do You Think You're Going" and "You Can't Buy Love" on Shania's album NOW.

He says Shania's likes candles in the recording studio to make her feel more comfortable.

Great choice. One of the best songs off the new album and sooooo old-style Shania. I really hope it'll be a real hit. Next single in the US after WGSTD MUST be "Home Now".

I doubt Shania will be making a video for "We Got Something They Don't" (current U.S. single) or "Who's Gonna Be Your Girl". Unless Shania secretly filmed the video in the past 2-3 weeks, artists usually don't make music videos after a single has been released. I say we won't get a video from WGSTD or WGBYG. Plus WGBYG is already out in Canada.

No promotion, no music videos: "Now" is already as good as dead. I can't see how it is supposed to climb the charts again.

Shania’s WGSTD has yet to hit the top 50 on mediabase. Blake Shelton has 6 songs in the top 50 mediabase country radio charts! Insane!

I told you so..... The numbers do not lie and facts are facts so yes when you dealing with the public like politics are all about the music industry and everything with it deals with the public. So the truth will come out soon about how Shania has been mistreated and disrespected by Nashville. Remember she is also Canadian too and that does play into the problem. They put Reba, Faith, Miranda, Carrie on Taylor all on this platform because they are Americans but will not accept a Canadian country artist to come in and to kick those other artists off as number one. Again its all about numbers, facts, and headlines which I have been trying to tell everyone.

Luke Bryan Interview on ABC is because he is the next judge on American Idol replacing Keith Urban. Luke is the next generation.

Blake Shelton is like the new "Tim McGraw" but not really he and Miranda spilt up but he is a judge on The Voice

Shania tried to be a guest judge on Dancing and for a full season on The Voice not too long ago plus American Idol a decade ago.

Yet on my AC Top 40 Radio Station here they keep playing Keith Urban ft Carrie Underwood and on the two Country Radio they play the same type of song and lifestyle. Closed minded conservatives.

I only heard LATGG on my AC Top 40 and it was gone! Now it's pretty hit or miss.

Do you see a pattern here? As Shania continue's to be more popular, more likes, more respected, more loved and more appreciated like "Hillary" closeted minded country radio refuses to change and to accept her, welcome her and even want her to perform at these country music awards. So HumbleKevvy who is corrupt here is not Hilary but your closed minded bigot sexist country radio stations.

Here's another observation that might trigger something. Please notice the love they continue to give Luke, Jason, Sam, Blake, Kenny and Tim (All the other American Country artist) Has Keith Urban ever got respected as a country artist? It seems that they give the awards to the same carbon copy country artist the Nashville produces. Keith is an Australian and again closed mind record executives and citizens who live in Nashville will not accept anyone that different than themselves. Have you noticed how they treat Darius Marcus? An African American Country Artist? Hmmm, have you ever seen an African American succeed in Country Radio? I bet you can not name three and on top of that. Because I am openly gay. The Gay/Lesbian Country Artist that are out there. I know a few but I bet you can not name them. You have to wake up to this negative and dangerous world we live in. There is a huge divide in our country and its "Trumpism" that ruins it.

But you do realize Shania herself doesn't even consider NOW an country album. She doesn't even consider herself a country artist anymore. That's is just where she was place at the beginning of her career. She had no intentions of making it sound country. So with that said, why would they try to promote this album on Country Radio and other country platform?

According to a Country Aircheck email I just received, 7 new Mediabase stations added "WGSTD" this week. That makes a total of 29 in 2 weeks. The song still isn't on the Top 50 Mediabase chart.

In today’s more important news..... NOW is still a beautiful beautiful album. ❤️

 Indeed it is!

Shania's new album NOW falls 52 spots to No. 126 in its fifth week on the Billboard 200 chart. The album falls 7 spots to No. 17 in its fifth week on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart. NOW also falls 10 spots to No. 19 in its fifth week on the Billboard Canadian Albums chart. Meanwhile, "Life's About To Get Good" falls 1 spot to No. 21 in its fourteenth week on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart.

And this is not more important? Don't deflect NOW!!

Can you let it go already? Some of us just want to enjoy her album without your negativity. I couldn't care less about the charts and it seems many more don't either. You said your opinion before, but you don't always have to push it down our throats. LET IT GO!

New Album "NOW" September 29, singles, interviews, etc. (Part 3)

Honestly, NOW is my second favorite Shania album and that’s saying a lot. 1) The Woman In Me 2) NOW 3) Up! 4) Come On Over

**** the charts. None of my favorites ever chart anyway. Temples - best psychedelic rock band to come out in a long time. The Growlers - my favorite band right now with a killer sound. Does anyone know them? Not really. Is that gonna stop me from blasting their music? **** no. i respect Shania so much more now for making the music she wanted to make and not making something that’s safe. If y’all can’t get that then that’s on you. **** Demi. **** that bull**** Havana song they keep playing at work. It’s all utter garbage. Peace out. I’m staying off this negative forum for awhile myself.

negative

noun
1.
a word or statement that expresses denial, disagreement, or refusal

I have not denied or refused these numbers but have some disagreements with some members. Even though her song about life getting good is about the will to walk away and when love lies. Well, these numbers and other factors do not lie.

Please check out these other websites and how others are seeing exactly or maybe hearing the same thing. Don't doubt my loyalty and love for our girl but sitting around with our rose-colored glasses on is wrong.

We might be "Alright" and the message of survival during this comeback but I am swinging with my eyes closed or open to help out to make this comeback a screaming success. Again the word right now is all about the CMA's on how good and amazing the show was plus Faith Hill's leg. Shania could have been there to prove everyone wrong and she could have just shown up to show her love and support for country music. She either refuses or chooses not too.

I am the most optimistic, upbeat, fun, loving, caring, amazing person there is but I guess you can't see it. I have found my self esteem and I am trying to forever dream like Shania says! So please wake up everyone!

I told you so................ Does anyone listen to me????????????????? Even though Ms. Swift has a younger audience and a worldwide fan base. Where have all the Shania fans gone? Where is all the love Shania got 15 years ago? Where is everyone? Why hasn't anyone helped her now? Do you think it was the 15 year? Just asking???

Who cares, Shania is A legend. Her album sales, awards, Icon music videos, Hit Songs, successful tours. Her hard work with Shania kids Can. Her hard life growing up. Her cheating Dirt bag of an ex. Her movie role coming out next year. She does not have to promote or sell like she use to. The fact that she wrote all the songs on this album herself is amazing. Also good for Taylor Swift. That will shut Kanye and Kim up lol

According to a Country Aircheck email I just received, 7 new Mediabase stations added "WGSTD" this week. That makes a total of 29 in 2 weeks. The song still isn't on the Top 50 Mediabase chart.

According to Country Aircheck, 10 new Mediabase stations added "WGSTD" this week. That makes a total of 39 in 3 weeks. But the song still isn't on the Top 50 Mediabase chart.
