For me this is a Shania tune! I always listen to her music to feel happy. I like she plays with lyrics - they’re sometimes meaningful and sometimes just with a fun wink. I think for the fans that like more of her story telling stuff there will be some songs on the album that’ll please you. I think she is doing great so far with this new album - for me personally way better than NOW

I for one am not the biggest fan of Giddy Up! when it comes to the lyrics and despite being one of those people who focuses on lyrics A LOT, I’ve had this song on repeat since it came out. It makes me feel good and that’s exactly what this song is meant to do/be. Not every single song is meant to have a deeper meaning and/or strong lyrics. There are a ton of songs out there just like this one and those are often the ones that end up becoming hits, too. So, even if I agree with this being one of Shania’s weakest songs lyrically speaking, some of the stuff I’m reading on this forum is making me really uncomfortable. The following part above all.
“She is almost 60 years old can’t she write a song that has actual depth and meaning. She ain’t 30 years old anymore.”
I’ve never disagreed with a comment more, especially since it’s coming from a long time fan. She’s fully capable of writing songs with depth and meaning and we know that very well, but she doesn’t always choose to do that. It’s always been this way… so why bring the age factor into this. What’s a 57 year old allowed to write about then? What’s acceptable and what’s not? Funny how five years ago she released NOW which had some of her best and most autobiographical lyrics to date, yet everybody complained that the songs were not that catchy, not as good as her previous stuff and so much more that has been said throughout the years. I find it very ironic how people are complaining about Shania releasing too many bops now… It’s like whatever she does is not good enough and that’s just sad to see.
As far as TikTok is concerned, I couldn’t care less about that app and I’m not even aware about what goes on on there, thankfully. I downloaded it years ago and deleted it from my phone a few hours later. I think it’s quite obvious that the whole TikTok marketing thing is the best way for this music to reach the younger generation. And THAT is totally fine with me.
YouTube she's released a music video plus the song with a single Photo cover and another. The one I play on Spotify sounds like the Released video one. You said Matty there is a fan one is that the official single on Spotify? I can't find.the fan one she released I am confused. Someone please explain how many versions are released so I can find them and links please lol
We’re not talking about versions of the song Giddy Up! We’re talking versions of the album Queen of Me. Different vinyls and different covers and colours.
Although anybody else gets a “karaoke“ version of Giddy Up! on YouTube when they select the one with the single cover?
Makes sense, I was told there was another fan version Shania released on Spotify however I can only find the original on Spotify. Unless that was the one people are talking about. As a female I agree with most opinions on here however if you like the song or not but bashing her for how she dresses and looks at almost 60 is absolutely disgusting. I enjoyed now but a lot of people didn't. I like this upbeat Shania because when I see her in concert I go to dance. I absolutely love her romantic songs as well however at almost 60 she seems to get a lot of negative comments on here sometimes and not just here I see it on other websites as well. Please stop with the disrespect on here it can be frustrating. Tommy I love your page and opinions and 99% of the time you are correct but when I see people body shaming and saying I hate her voice she dresses inappropriate or some saying I am not a fan. If you ain't a fan get off the page but these sexist comments are totally disgusting and I don't mind if people like the song or not but please act like gentleman because at almost 60 she looks and dresses fine. Do I like all of her styles no but I would never disrespect her. These comments have to stop. No man should tell a woman how to dress or act. Queen of me technically has 14 songs and I'm sure once the album streams sales should be well. I'd like to see a little more promotion and Hopefully she does that soon. It's hard to have big hits at her age it doesn't mean the songs aren't good. These days one doesn't need radio. I use Spotify, Apple music, Amazon and YouTube. Plus I pre ordered 5 albums for family and friends. Giddy up isn't doing to bad on iTunes personally as far as I'm concerned it's doing good. Hopefully it enters the billboard Top 100 chart at least 50 hopefully better. As for album sales it should Sky rocket to number 1 or at least 2. It depends what albums come out on the same day. Regardless Tommy I love your site and value the work you put into this fan site. However sometimes comments go to far. Enjoy your weekend.
I'm not criticizing Shania personally. "Waking Up Dreaming" and "Giddy Up!" are good songs! All I'm saying is she isn't Dua Lipa. I love dance music but I would say the same thing if a guy who was pushing 60 put out a boppy album. That would even be weirder. Most people would agree to that.

Shania has been through hell and back and I think her releasing dance upbeat songs is warranted because of it. I am absolutely loving this era thus far.
On a side note I really don’t think Giddy Up! is a dance song as in music genre dance. It is clearly very country-pop. And I don’t think she cares too much about the charting success of her music but just likes to experiment musically.

I agree. I'm glad Shania is in a good place now. Queen Of Me is much better than NOW and I look forward to the album.

GU! continuing down to number 11 on all genre iTunes chart, number 4 on country. If she don’t get out and promote it, likely will result like WUD. Hoping TikTok makes it viral isn’t a good fallback.
Shania originally had the Leopard Print Picture Disc Vinyl (White) and Leopard Print Picture Disc Vinyl (Gold) in her official shop, but later disappeared.
These albums along with the standard vinyl can be purchased in a bundle below:
After being added to a lot of playlists Giddy Up! went up to 459.520 streams on spotify!! For a Shania release these are quite good figures. But keep streaming everyone ❤️
The country music icon dropped a dance-filled music video for her song “Giddy Up!” Thursday. The country-pop banger serves as the opening track and official second single off Twain’s upcoming album “Queen of Me,” which is set for a Feb. 3 release.
The song’s infectious chorus features Twain calling listeners to find their own spark, or “put some up in your giddy.” Twain said the phrase “giddy up” was meant to evoke the joy of her lyrical catchphrase “Let’s go girls,” the iconic opening line of her late-1990s hit “Man! I Feel Like a Woman!”
“‘Let’s Go Girls!’ is such a wonderfully uplifting sentiment now, but it’s just something I said during the recording in the studio, and I guess that’s the same for ‘Giddy Up!'” Twain said in a press release. “I want people to feel good when they hear the new album. I want to set a celebratory tone, and ‘Giddy Up!’ is a way to call to the audience and say, ‘Let’s get ready for some fun!' ”
The “Giddy Up!” music video, directed by Justin Marmorstein of Marmo Films, shows Twain as a greased-up mechanic in an auto shop. Shots of Twain are interspersed with scenes of people dancing to the foot-thumping track in various public settings, including a restaurant, bar, grocery store and laundromat.
The upbeat initiative of “Giddy Up!” reflects the resilience Twain has grown into over the years. In 2020, the Grammy-winning singer opened up to AARP The Magazine about finding personal strength following her divorce from music producer Robert “Mutt” Lange.
"Sometimes I get overwhelmed coping with things, but experience also teaches you how to manage,” Twain told the outlet at the time. “When you get older, you have so much experience at falling and getting up. You’re not going to stop falling. But you will get better at getting up and brushing yourself off. I believe that. I’ve lived it."
Most of Shania fans are in their late 30 and 40 and don't stream the song. Giddy Up! falls to #17 spot in iTunes USA, and in Canada it's doing awesome and it's in the #2 spot. Even if I don't quite connect to every song, I always wish for her songs to turn into hits.
Twain’s party-ready new sing is the first track off of Queen of Me, her forthcoming album that’s set for a Feb. 3 release. The singer line danced into 2023 with “Giddy Up,” dropping the song and its music video on Jan. 5.
“The saying ‘Let’s Go Girls!’ is such a wonderfully uplifting sentiment now, but it’s just something I said during the recording in the studio and I guess that’s the same for ‘Giddy Up!’,” Twain said in a statement this week. “These lines come to me when I’m thinking about how to put a little ‘pep in my step.’ I want people to feel good when they hear the new album. I want to set a celebratory tone and ‘Giddy Up!’ is a way to call to the audience and say ‘let’s get ready for some fun!’”
Trailing behind the pop-country icon’s “Giddy Up!” on the fan-voted poll is YoungBoy Never Broke Again’s I Rest My Case album, with nearly 5% of the vote.
See the final results of this week’s new music release poll below.
Streams update; GU is going very strong for a Shania release - 783.915 after three full days. Her best scoring first week streaming song since the NOW era was Life’s About To Get Good with 1.072.299 streams after one week. This song will do better 🔥
This era is I think amplifying Shania to digital music platforms. Our queen is doing great! Let's continue streaming guys. The album will do great for sure and I really can't wait for February 03.
I believe the album should debut at number 1. Remember they are all brand new songs and I believe sales should be better now. Even the new songs released so far have been getting positive reviews. My only question is Is Giddy up sent to Adult Contemporary raido and country radio? I think one of the stations will play it just how can tell If radio is on board. Tommy any idea of radio is playing it?

I haven't heard of any Adult Contemporary or Country radio station playing "Giddy Up!" yet. But the song is already doing well on UK radio as her songs always do.
Shania Twain @ShaniaTwain
Now this news put some up in my giddy to start my week off right! 🤠 Giddy Up! is @BBCRadio2 's Record of the Weekshaniatwain.lnk.to/giddyup
"Waking Up Dreaming" is STILL holding steady on the Adult Contemporary Mediabase radio airplay chart while gaining 48 more spins/plays in the past week.
Giddy Up! had 55% more worldwide airplay than Waking Up Dreaming in the first 4 days after release.
The top 5 countries of Giddy Up’s radio airplay so far are: France, the UK, the US, Switzerland and Germany. The top 5 so far of radio’s playing Waking Up Dreaming is: the UK, France, Mexico, Germany and Belgium.
Giddy Up! has 1.020.877 Spotify streams after 4 days. The song now has more all time streams than Last Day Of Summer.
About 100.000 of Giddy Up’s Spotify streams (10%) were from Canadians.
I just don't get why they won't play Giddy up on country radio, Country radio whether in Canada or the United States seems to be male dominated. How long was it until they started playing waking up dreaming on Adult Contemporary? Also I still expect album sales to do extremely well. Just because the songs seem to climb the charts fast but the album has a new music and I expect it to sell well. The UK has Always been supportive and even Australia. In Canada the song is doing relatively good on the iTunes charts and so is her greatest hits which indicates people are probably pre ordering the new album. I am just surprised Canada isn't playing the single and in Fact I was shocked when Waking up dreaming wasn't played here however Giddy up I am expecting should be added soon if not something doesn't makes sense as all of her songs usually get radio play in Canada. Also anyone have any idea how many streams Shania has gotten on Spotify for Giddy up? Wondering how Billboard will decide the Top 100 is it based on Radio play or can she have a hit without radio? Also How do I get the Target album? That has 14 songs is it on there website? Will Spotify stream all 14 songs or just the 12.
I love when you post the stats. So radio is playing the song in certain countries? Also I didn't know Canadian streams on Spotify were counted for the United States. I thought they were both separate charts. That is an interesting fact.
The two Target bonus tracks will not available on any streaming platform. Some artists eventually release them on different streaming platforms but not all of them do. I am sure someone will upload them to YouTube eventually because that's usually what happens with bonus tracks only available in some countries.

Thank you @shaniatwain for trusting me throughout the entire process. This all doesn’t feel real yet. Your professionalism and grace on set made everyone on set so grateful for the chance to be apart of this epic production. Working with you has forever changed my life and I’m so appreciative that you gave me this opportunity. To have been able visualize your single off your new album has been a dream come true. From the bottom of my heart and from the cast and crew THANK YOU! GIDDY UP! #shaniatwain #queenofcountry #musicvideo #country #pop #marmofilms #guerillahollywood #giddyup!
Giddy Up! Enters the Billboard Country Digital Song Sales chart at #20 with just 1 day of sales (last Thursday) counting towards this week's Billboard chart update (January 14).
1 day of sales? It should be much higher next week. I agree this is her best song released so far, I am not sure why radio won't play it? Must be afraid it might get to popular and maybe be a hit lol I am not surprised on country radio she could release a pure country song and they still wouldn't play it. I expect Adult Contemporary to pick it up. Just Curious will Shania release another single off the album since this song has done well enough even this early. I still think queen of me will be the third single with a music video. I just don't know will another video be released in February or is that to soon any thoughts fans?

This song is so energising!! I remember when we played the final mix in the studio and we all just got up and started jumping around 😂 I hope it does that for you too!shaniatwain.lnk.to/giddyup
According to the reports I have found, GU! hasn’t been added to any reportable Country stations or AC stations. WUD is the only showing song on current charts, and it only shows up for AC stations.
UK friends! 🤠 I can't wait to be back for my Queen Of Me tour - but! before then! If you pre-order #QueenOfMe from my official webstore you can be in with a chance of attending a special event with me in London in February! shopuk.shaniatwain.com
GU! at #110 on all-genre iTunes singles chart, and #28 country singles. GU! has gotten to #5 of Shania’s most streamed songs on Spotify, something WUD didn't even do. That’s a positive.
Honestly, that's kind of sad that a song that hasn't even been out a week is number five on her most streamed songs ever on Spotify when even her biggest hits over the years haven't reached those heights except for the four in front of "Giddy Up!". I know she's not a streaming giant but it's still sad. I will say - I wonder if that means either people are listening to her CDs more or are simply not listening to her at all.
