“Giddyup! It’s a two-horse race for this week’s Official Number1 album; with Shania Twain currently leading the charge against RAYE.
The Canadian singer-songwriter’s latest LP Queen Of Me – her sixth studio album – tracks to reach the summit the midweek point.Should it hold on, it’ll become Shania’s third UK Number 1 record, joining previous chart-toppers Come On Over (1998) and Now (2017).”
It’s by no means a done deal, though, as RAYE is hot on Shania’s heels with My 21st Century Blues. The South London-born star’s much-hyped debut LP, the parent record to recent Number 1 single Escapism., looks set to enter at Number 2 on Friday.
Has anyone received their Green/Spotify Fans First of the Queen Of Me vinyl? Mine shipped but it's coming overseas from Canada and will take a few weeks more to arrive. I'm eager to see the colour so if anyone has a pic they could post, I'd appreciate that. :)
I picked myself up a copy of #QueenOfMe while I was shopping for dog toys in @Target 😂 The Target version features two exclusive tracks, ‘On Three’ and ‘Done & Dusted’, and a little cameo from my friend @billyraycyrus 😊shaniatwain.lnk.to/queenofme/target
So my Target exclusive edition arrived today and I'm looking through the booklet and there are so many spelling and grammatical errors. It's like they didn't proofread the booklet at all before sending it to print.
Yesterday Shania had a 3.704 lead, today just 2.600. Raye got quite desperate now in dropping her album to £4.99 on iTunes and doing an extra album signing this Thursday. UK FANS STREAM OUR QUEEN 🤠👑
I think it would not matter if she only goes second place (don’t think this will be the case)
More important would be that she maybe stays 4 weeks in the top ten.
WOW! I was expecting Top 5. #10 for an album debut is quite disappointing!
I wasn't necessarily expecting it to be Top 5 considering how the music industry has changed in recent years but #10 does feel low for someone who ruled the late 90s / early 2000s.
I do find it weird how low it's debuting considering she promoted it everywhere in the past few weeks. There are artists who do less promotion who sell more which is odd.
"Queen of Me" is actually the 2nd best-selling album on that list. It's streams that are pulling all of the others ahead of her. Older artists like Shania really struggle with streaming.
It was to be expected. Of Now’s 137k first week sales about 90-95k were through tour bundles. I think she’ll end up around #10-#15 by the end of the week as the albums below her outsell QoM in the next coming days due to streaming.
In comparison. Carrie Underwoods album sold 31k last June in its first week. So in this midweek chart she is doing better already than that.
Well the album is good, I am not sure what's happening. Radio won't play her music and it is extremely annoying. She should go to number one in Canada the UK and Australia. There are many who didn't like the curse word on the album and her styles aren't helping. She hasn't sung any singles live. This album might actually sell worse then Now. Unfortunately good album but sales are what they are. Unfortunately it is what it is. Hopefully her New record label doesn't drop her. This might very well be her last album. Regardless I love the album and unfortunately sales are what they are. Giddy up good song but she wasn't in it for much. Waking up dreaming wasn't even promoted in North America. I dunno I am shocked only because those are extremely low sales and I expected much higher

This!! Tip to increase the streaming numbers: just put it on during work or whatever on repeat and muted. Spotify still counts plays even if the hardware is muted (they can’t track this as they state themselves on their website). Also a 30 second play of a song counts as a stream, just toggle the return or forward button every now and than when you’re a bit more than half a minute in 😂 Or for the most hardcore version: Play the album simultaneously on Spotify, Youtube and Soundcloud on a desktop with hardware sound muted: 3 streams at one time 😂😄
She is currently the only artist on the new label so if they drop her then they wouldn't have any artists. Would not be wise of them lol. While the sales are low, Shania will be fine.
I am also shocked.
If the sale figures are for the first half I guess it will be close to 60k which is not bad at all.
It’s annoying. Probably she will chart higher in Germany than in USA. Uk Canada Australia Ireland and Scandinavia have good streaming just in USA streaming is (even worse) than in Germany.
I am really sad. I think also for her it is not cool as she probably drops of the charts quite quick though she deserves.
But we see. She need performances. Fans are not enough.
If she wouldn’t be shania the album would probably not even sell 1000 copies.
I’m not sure if there is going to be a hit song.
I thought she debuts 1 or 2 as the number one album is so high in streaming.
Well… I am also pretty shocked that her numbers here in Europe and also in Australia are much better than in the USA. She deserves at least TOP 3! Then again… what to expect from a market that is highly dominated by hip hop and who knows what…
Still happy for her and love this album so, so much!
Why can’t we face the fact that Shania has done literally little to no promotion of this album. No performances, only interviews with tv shows and magazine no one even watches anymore. Shania’s hope is to sell the album by going to the people with her tour, like COO, it didn’t even hit number 1, but it was a long lasting album by her tour.
It's not about the charts for Shania anymore (at least that's what I would like to think but selling extra digital covers seems like she does care a little) and she simply wants to have fun. She has had a wonderful career and her legacy will always remain in tact. So many artists have been inspired by her so even if she isn't commercially successful anymore, she will always be remembered for paving the way for so many artists. At the end of the day, she still releases music she loves and just wants to enjoy her voice while she still can.
And btw Sam Smith entered the billboard chart last week at #8 with 37.6k united sold, which was mainly due to the streaming of hit song unholy. So I don’t think this is too bad.

I think there was nothing else to expect.
She does not have a big (big) fan base.
To be honest. Aside from shania the last album I bought was speak now from Taylor (guess in 2011)
We listen to what is popular so Adele and Beyoncé come to my ears.
How the hell people should now that she has an album. And yet if they see it why should they take it.
She needs a top ten hit.
If not the show will be over quick.
USA: I don’t know what the problem is. No country no pop. Only little AC some hundred spins a week. Album sales (physical) is the past. Most albums sold around 1000 each. That’s nothing. How many music shops are there. And though you can buy physically albums online.
I think she should have made a pop and a country version both. Half of the song you could add country elements easily. But though probably they have a problem with her. Ignorance.
She should have done a duet with someone who is “en vogue”
I donning hope the album fade away quickly but I do not have much hope.

We live in a time where we have access to MILLIONS of songs on our phones so I don't listen to what is popular, I listen to everything that is out there and I then decide what I like and what I don't. Besides, it's not difficult to keep up to date with the latest releases now that we have streaming services AND social media. Her album is right there under new releases, there's no need to do dozens of TV appearances for people to know she has a new album out. She's 30 years into her career and I don't understand why she should release music with the only goal of it becoming a hit. She's releasing the music she wants to and that's honestly all I need to know and care about. Actually, I'm glad she's releasing music, period. I don't see why she should release a pop version AND a country version of the album. She already did that in the past so what would be original about it? Plus it wouldn't change a thing as far as charts are concerned. I don't need Shania to reach #1, no matter how amazing it'd be. She's out there selling out shows and that speaks volumes.
I do hope though that the album only reaching #10 inspires her to not follow the streaming short song route for the next album assuming we get one. Because I don't want another album of 2 and 3 minutes songs.

True. But on the other hand, her streaming numbers on Apple Music are good, except maybe in the USA. I guess, also during UP! era she was more popular in Europe and the rest of the world than in the USA. People in the States prefer to listen to "Come on Over" and "The Woman in Me", but UP! was such a success around the world in 2003 selling almost a million copies just in Germany and reaching #1 many months after the release. "Thank You Baby! (For Makin' Someday Come So Soon) was as a single when it hit the top! ❤️

The race for this week's Official Number 1 album heats up, as RAYE closes the gap on country queen Shania Twain overnight.
According to the latest Official Charts Company data, RAYE's independently-released debut My 21st Century Blues now sits just 2,600 chart units behind Shania's latest LP Queen Of Me.
Personally, I don't care a bit about the commercial results of the album. But Shania doesn't care (see her "call for help" on TikTok). I would also like them to be satisfying enough for her to continue making new albums! And she has an interest that it works to continue to be invited to the awards and that her label does not let her go.
"Queen Of Me is out now and it would mean the world to me if you streamed it, downloaded it, got it on CD or vinyl - whatever is your favourite way to enjoy music." (Shania Twain on TikTok)
According to this Billboard article, Shania is in the race for No. 1 on Billboard 200 chart.
The Contenders: Will Shania Twain Be the ‘Queen’ of the Billboard 200?
The country-pop legend joins the thick of this week's albums race, along with a new set from Raye and Grammy-revived albums from Harry Styles and Beyoncé.
Welcome to The Contenders, a midweek column that looks at artists aiming for the top of the Billboard charts, and the strategies behind their efforts. This week (for the upcoming charts dated Feb. 18), as TOMORROW X TOGETHER’s new EP drops in sales in its second week, new albums from Shania Twain and Raye look to seize the Billboard 200’s top spot, with SZA’s SOS still lurking.
Shania Twain, Queen of Me (Republic): Few artists in the history of popular music have a resumé of hit albums to match Shania Twain’s: She’s released three RIAA Diamond-certified albums, including 1997’s double-Diamond Come on Over. No one would expect her Queen of Me, released Friday (Feb. 3), to reach similar sales heights decades later — though her last album, 2017’s Now, topped the Billboard 200, albeit with a ticket bundle that undoubtedly contributed to her first-week sales of 134,000.
Twain won’t receive any such boost for Queen of Me — those bundles were eliminated from Billboard chart calculations in October 2020. But she will be helped by multiple vinyl and CD variants, including exclusives for both Target and Walmart (the Target CD has 2 bonus tracks, while Walmart’s CD has an alternate cover). Her webstore and indie retail are also selling a signed CD, while her webstore also has a couple of deluxe box set editions with a signed CD and T-shirt inside. Plus, she’s still riding the momentum from her Netflix documentary Not Just a Girl, which resulted in a catalog-wide spike for the country-pop legend last August.
