I haven't heard the whole song yet but based on the clip, it's kind of hard to understand what Shania is singing at times. I do wish she would enunciate a little better.

She has an awful pronunciation. I listened to the song with my earphones on and I understood almost everything she says but I'm gonna wait for the lyrics on Apple Music to understand better.

Since defeating Raye for the No.1 spot with 2023’s Queen Of Me, Shania Twain has enjoyed a Top 20 collab with Anne-Marie on Unhealthy, duetted on Sabrina Carpenter’s Christmas special and, in the ultimate seal of millennial/Gen-Z approval, provided support for Harry Styles. It’s arguable that Twain hasn’t been so in vogue since her Come On Over heyday in the late 90s.

Instead of trying to keep up with those who grew up listening to her music, however, seventh album Little Miss Twain as its title suggests, throws things back to the sounds of Shania’s own youth. Indeed, only the hip-hop beats of That’s The Money and the world weariness of the Canadian’s voice – clearly affected by her well-publicised vocal cord problems – show signs of the modern age.

The title track, for example, is a good old-fashioned country ballad which celebrates the encouragement she received as a child. “According to my mother, I’m the next Tanya Tucker,” she quips about the Nashville legend, who also makes a cameo. Other guest spots from the likes of T Bone Burnett, Ronnie Wood and Ray Parker Jr further highlight Twain’s lack of interest in chasing the zeitgeist.

The driving barroom rock of Quit My Life, banjo-plucking hoedown Right Time and heartbreak blues of I’d Be Loving Me also evoke Twain’s humble beginnings performing in small-town Ontario. The suitably chugging lead single Dirty Rosie even pays tribute to the rickety old truck from her days as a 10-year-old lumberjack.

There are nods to Motown (Scary Thing), flamenco (Northern Town) and gospel (Take It To The River), not to mention the Purple Rain-esque standout Problematic, all of which prove that the younger Shania’s influences extend far beyond her roots and how the grown-up Twain helped pioneer country crossover. This spirited back-to-basics affair shows she’s settling into her groove as its elder stateswoman.

Yes, I think the next announcement will be the "World Tour" (read USA, Canada and UK/Ireland). Maybe it will be announced the week of the album release or the next one.

I don’t care for the song but I’m happy to see it at #2 on the US iTunes country charts and #7 on the all genre iTunes Charts. I love her but you can’t hear Josh at all nor can you understand the lyrics because of the overproduction. I despise how she records her vocals now with the harmonies and over processing. Like, girl. WHAT ARE YOU EVEN SAYING? Anyway, still love her. LMT is a beautiful song and I know there will be more gems on this album.

Ok thanks. I just want to get as many songs as possible. I wanted to purchase the Mattagami River Vinyl with "We Just Met" but it's only available in the US.

Faded Blue Jeans is an absolute banger. It should have been the lead single. Like her best work since her greatest hits. I have yet to find many negative reviews. The record label release says new single? Doesn't that mean radio play lol

Yeah, I saw that. "Faded Blue Jeans" is most likely just a promotional track. The first two singles didn't make it to radio or the U.S. Billboard charts anyways.
