Extra date announced for Shania Twain at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow

Shania Twain will play an extra date at the SSE Hydro next year after the first sold out in a matter of minutes.

The second show will take place on September 19 next year and tickets will go on sale at 9am this Friday October 27 via www.ticketmaster.co.uk.

The comeback star is playing her first UK tour in over a decade and will play all the hits from her career, which spans three decades and includes songs like Man I Feel Like A Woman and That Don't Impress Me Much.

The Canadian is still the top-selling female artist of all time in her genre.

Her other sold out show takes place on September 21 2018.

Glasgow is presently in the midst of a country boom, with the city's dedicated scene bolstered by new fans picked up from the hit TV series Nashville.

Shania Twain to play Nashville's Bridgestone Arena in 2018

When Shania Twain announced her 2018 tour earlier this year, a July 21 date in Nashville stood out from the pack.

While tickets for all other concerts went on sale back in August, the venue and ticketing info for Music City was listed as "to be announced."

On Monday, details were finally revealed. Twain's arena tour will indeed stop at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on July 21, and tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 1. 

The tour follows the release of "NOW," Twain's first new studio album in 15 years. She played her last concert at Bridgestone Arena in 2015.

Back in August, Twain's manager Scott Rodger told Billboard Magazine that Nashville's details were delayed because of an agreement the arena made with Garth Brooks. He's set to play seven concerts at the venue in December. Rodger and an executive at Live Nation said the contract stipulated that no other country music concert could go on sale until Dec. 1.

Tour stop in Australia has been confirmed by the Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney... Shania will probably also be announcing the Brazil concert and maybe a stop in New Zealand.

Shania Twain will tour New Zealand for the first time in December - but she's no stranger.

The country pop sensation, known for hits like Man! I Feel Like a Woman, will perform at Auckland's Spark Arena on December 18 at Dunedin's Forsyth Barr Stadium on December 22.

The shows will be part of her Now world tour - and they'll be her first time performing in New Zealand.

But Twain is no stranger to our shores, having spent time here on her ex-husband's plot of land in in the mid-2000s.

"I was just so taken with the colours ... it's just stunning. And just the remoteness of some of these high-country stations was attractive to me, I really love being isolated and I love nature," she told NZME about her time here.

Tickets for both shows will go on sale at midday on February 9. A pre-sale begins on February 5.

Apparently Shania has not signed a contract yet so her Brazil show is still not official. However a tourism agency is selling packages to "Shania Twain concert" in Barretos on August 18th. I don't know how they can do that.

This May country music legend Shania Twain will embark on a huge world tour of the world starting at the Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, Washington USA. The massive tour will see Twain performing to sell-out crowds across the world including the aforementioned USA,  Canada, the UK, Ireland, Germany, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Netherlands, Australia and New Zealand.

The Now tour will kick-off on May 3rd and will end on December 22nd at the Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin, New Zealand. Tickets for the highly anticipated tour are on sale now!

So with the queen of country-pop’s tour nearing we thought it would be a fantastic idea to put together our ideal set-list. Our 19 chosen tracks are taken from Twain’s ‘The Woman In Me’, ‘Come On Over’, ‘Up!’ and ‘Now’ albums;

Our chosen song to kick-off the show is the catchy pop infused hit ‘Life’s About To Get Good’ which is taken from Shania Twain’s first studio release in 15 years; ‘Now’. We like to think this will get the crowd in a real party mood.

2: Up!

At number 2 we have picked the upbeat, optimistic track ‘Up!’ which will have the crowd on their feet, singing along in no time. It’s a real fan favourite.

3: Honey I’m Home

This track would be great at number 3 as it embodies the opening two songs as well as having a symbolic message that Twain is at home on stage and in the presence of all her loyal fans.

4: From This Moment On

With that high energy start now would be a great time for Shania to take a breather and with the ultimate wedding song she will have the crowd in the palm of her hands.

5: I Ain’t Goin’ Down

Another ballad, this time the stunning ‘I Ain’t Goin’ Down’ which is lifted off the ‘Up!’ record. The Canadian superstar doesn’t perform this song often but it’s a real fan favourite and would go down really well with the audience.

Time to slow things down again this time with the stunning love song ‘Forever And For Always’. This track about everlasting love will be a real intimate part of the sow.

11: Light Of My Life

Keeping things mellow we continue with the spell-bounding track ‘Light Of My Life’. It’s a gorgeous ballad and we just love the lyrics and Twain’s lower register.

12: She’s Not Just A Pretty Face

Another slower track and a real women empowerment anthem. This will be a real highlight of the tour set-list and the audience would love it if this is included.

13: That Don’t Impress Me Much

Now it’s time for some old-school classics. ‘That Don”t Impress Me Much’ is a huge anthem and no Shania Twain tour would be complete without its inclusion.

14: Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under?

Everybody just loves this power country anthem and the crowd are on their feet right from the start. It’s a true timeless classic.

15: (If You’re Not In It For Love) I’m Outta Here!

Another classic! This song always goes down brilliantly on tour and the fans expect it to be included on every set-list.

16: Let’s Kiss And Make Up

***There's no way she'll sing I Ain't Going Down, Nah, She's Not Just A Pretty Face or Forever And For Always. And there are too many songs from NOW on the list. She'll sing LATGG, SWMEC, and probably 2 others. Most people who go to concerts mainly want to hear the hits. I just think singing more than 4 songs from NOW would be pushing it since LATGG is the only "hit" from the album. We'll see I guess.

Yeah, I just saw his Instagram Stories video. He hangs out at Shania's house in the Bahamas a lot! Personally, I hope she gets someone better than him as her opening act. He opened for her a few times in Canada at the end of her "Rock This Country" tour.

Yeah he is there a lot. He went with her when she did the halftime show in Ottawa, he posted stories of him getting off the plane with Fred. theres an interesting age gap, I think he's only in his mid-20s or something so maybe he's friends with eja? Anyways, I hope he opens for her in the U.S. He has been doing a fair amount of shows worldwide. I think he could do well in the US, he only has done a few shows. I am a big fan of him.
